Why Early Access?

“Early Access is a great platform as it gives us the ability to get feedback from new players, as well as our existing community on new and existing content.

Radioactive is being developed with full transparency to our players, and we will make adjustments and additions based directly on their comments. Feedback from post launch closed beta, along with responses from early access release, will guide us in the creation and addition of new content and game-play tuning.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We are planning on exiting early access and entering beta within six months of our release, and approximately twelve to eighteen months until full release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will incorporate tools that will allow players to customize and play the game the way they want. We will deliver a complete survival experience based on the feedback that we receive during Early Access with a focus on performance optimization, advanced weapon mechanics, attachments, inventory system, artificial intelligence, looting system and much more.

In addition, we plan to add even more content and new features that will be based on feedback from the community during Early Access. We are committed to full transparency with players and will provide frequent and regular updates to them.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Even though we have hosted "closed-beta", we believe that our current stage of the game is in its alpha. At the current stage, you can experience what we have done over past few months. It includes multiple testing scenes, such as climbing and shooting range, where you could experience climbing mechanics, as well as weapon mechanics and player's inventory. Early Access build also includes single-player area with an open world 25 sq. km. world, which includes basic AI's, Player's System and much more. You can check out our Trello to see what exactly have been done over past months. It is currently at its early stages of development, but expect it to grow over months of work while being in early access.

We will need to hear a feedback from you so we can improve and grow together.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Our Early Access price is discounted. Once the full version of the game is launched, the discount will no longer apply.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Transparency and constant communication with the community is crucial. We will invite our closed beta participants to test crucial updates (such Multiplayer) before we roll it out to the public, which is planned for Q3-Q4 of this year (2017). We will be posting updates and asking for feedback on Steam forums, along with engaging with the community to discuss play mechanics, new features and the overall experience to ensure they get the game that they want.”

Early Access [5.0.0]

Good day everyone,
It's time for another update! This update brings completely new NPC spawn system to the world of the Radioactive! Current system allows us to spawn NPC's according to the selection "biome". For example, forest biomes in the future would be spawning "animal NPC's", whereas "city biomes" would be spawning zombies, along with passive-aggressive NPC's. This system also uses radius to spawn/deactivate NPC's within Player's spawn. This should all work fine and help with performance. We have also improved A.I. logic, even though we are planning on completely redesigning its system, along with new animations and newer types of A.I. That's it for todays update. Thanks everyone!

About This Game

Welcome to the world of Radioactive, hit by a new and presently unknown infection which has wiped out most of the world's population. You are one of the few that have survived and now you must search this new wasteland in order to fight for your life against what is left of the indigenous population now infected with the disease. Gear up, choose your play style, as you choose your path in this brutal and chilling landscape using whatever means you stumble upon to survive.

Radioactive is a gritty, authentic, open-world survival horror game, in which players follow a single goal: to survive in the harsh post-apocalyptic landscape as long as they can. Players can experience powerful events and emotions arising from the ever-evolving emergent gameplay. There are no superficial tips, waypoints, built in tutorials or help given to players. Every decision matters, there are no save games, no extra lives, every mistake can be lethal. If you fail, you lose everything and you need to play again from the beginning with nothing but your wits, and your two hands. Fight the hostile environment, loot, gear up and get ready for a fight!

DEVELOPMENT ROADMAP


Radioactive is currently in early alpha and we see a lot of work ahead of us in order to make it the true authentic open world zombie survival VR experience we want it to be. Current version is including only small subset of game mechanics and serves mostly as test bed with core technology that should serve as basis for future additions and improvements. As it states above, Radioactive is currently Single-Player experience only. Please read "Early Access" info to get a better idea on our plans for the future of our big project.

CURRENT ISSUES


Currently, the biggest issue is the performance in the single-player terrain. We have few ideas that we are currently trying, thus, performance should improve within next few updates. As far as looting goes, since Single-Player has performance issues, there was no point for us to add a lot of loot or loot spawns around the map; That's being said, you will be able to find a weapon and consumables, but that's about it for now. Once performance issues are fixed, we will make sure our looting system is implemented short-after.
