關於此遊戲

A mighty hero stalks through a dark, dank dungeon making life miserable for hordes of pitiable monsters as he steals anything and everything not bolted to the floor. Been there, done that - about a thousand times? Then it is definitely time to switch sides and show that hero just who's who in the dungeon!
Assume the role of a mighty (and mighty evil) Dungeon Lord and create your own diabolical demesnes underground. Dim-witted goblin workers tremble as they await your orders and dig corridors and rooms into the rock at your command.
Heroes will visit your dungeon in search of battle and treasure.
Naturally, you could always just annihilate them with a snap of your fingers. But isn't it more entertaining and deliciously evil to watch them attain their heart's desire - and then take take it ALL away?
So throw them a few treasures and some equipment, give them a couple of fights for entertainment and cherish and look after them. And once they are finally happy enough - it's time for the "harvest". For happy heroes have more valuable soul energy for you to gleefully extract from them in your prison or torture chamber!
But even though these self-proclaimed warriors for the good are not much more than an excellent source of resources for you, you still should not underestimate them. If you've beaten up too many of their friends, the powerful and vindictive Champions will occasionally make their way to your Dungeon. Perhaps a small sum could persuade them to forget their moral and ethical principles for once?
In addition to the heroes, you should also always keep an wary eye on the underground. For the competition never sleeps, and other Dungeon Lords would like to claim your territory for themselves. As if that were not enough, another Dungeon Lord lives one level below you who, to top it all off, is also your boss and bombards you with useless tasks! Of course, it goes without saying that malicious and sneaky beings such as yourself are already hard at work trying to take his place!
Story
The game revolves around Deimos, foremost of all Dungeon Lords. He falls victim to a devious plot hatched by his vile, nasty, thoroughly vicious ex-girlfriend Calypso, and suddenly finds himself at the bottom of the hierarchy and the top of the dungeon once again.
As the story proceeds Deimos tries to regain his old place and have his well-deserved revenge on Calypso. First, however, he will have to deal with his new bosses. On the one hand , there's the Zombie King, who is about as intelligent as your average undead zombie is likely to be, and on the other there's hot-blooded Minos, who likes to solve problems using violence or, alternatively, more violence.

Key features:

  • Be insidious! Three different Boss Monsters await in order to give you a real hard time. Get rid of them to become the one and only Dungeon Lord!
  • Get ready for a fight! 10 different classes of heroes dare to enter your dungeon where 15 different monsters lurk in the dark
  • The 17 campaign missions demand your whole cunningness as evil dungeon lord. If you manage to survive them there's still the custom game waiting for you.
  • In a dungeons there's only one way: going down. 3 different levels wait to be conquered by you.
  • Prison cells and torture chambers are ready for your command and await “customers”
  • Create the dungeon of your dreams with 50 different objects
  • Wimpy goblin workers await your commands and create the dungeon after your wishes.

So, there were these games called Badman (and a really freaking long name with My Lord in it that I never can remember) released by NIS for the PSP -- there was also these games called Dungeon Keeper. Now there is the Quest for Epic Loot (which is like MMO...ish) and Imps and . .. kay, bored now.

Point is, this is it's own game. This is micro-management-heavy-as-hell and on top of that, lacks a certain pizaz that gets things to keep going after 20 hours or so (note: I played this a lot before this most recent sale on steam in which I acquired it here) . The biggest customization is nearly meaningless decor. So much is too complecated in practice and yet overly simple in feeling .. which is all sorts of weird (mostly comes from how easy it is to kill heroes on entering without pleasing them) --- this game, like many, requires you to give to it in order to give back. Unlike the best games which tend to be lower on the graphical scale and ask imagination -- this is a dressed up version (kinda) of a lot of things and the missing bits are the innate charm, and the strange feeling of -something- missing.

What am I on about?

This is not Dungeon Keeper. Stop pretending it sucks because of that. This is a solid 7 out of 10 (saying 5 is passing for a 20 USD game) -- this game is good, and above average (but actually less impressive for the year it was released than this last 12 months. .then it was only a 6, but 2013 sucked on every possible level).

More importantly, the gold pack with the standalone DLC was 7.50 USD for me, and that is a GREAT deal. a good 30 hours of enjoyment between the two, and only a few hours of lacklustre play in there.

Not the best game ever, but I do recommend it.

Let me make this very clear,

It is NOT Dungeon Keeper. Do not buy it with that intention, it's more akin to Sim Theme Park than dungeon keeper. That said, it actually isn't a bad game at all in it's own right. A little short but I found it fairly fun and enjoyed it.

Dungeons - sorry, "DUNGEONS" is apparently a game aiming for the vein of the old Dungeon Keeper series. You're an evil overlord, seeking to conquer a land full of innocent heroes and elves and stuff, using magic and monsters.

The skinny: Have you ever looked back on something you've done, and regretted it? I have. After all, I bought Dungeons during a steam sale. 3/10 because bawful.

The good: It has some decent graphics, and wasn't too hard to install.

The bad: A pretty bad attempt. The humor is terrible - as in "the jokes are not funny", not "they are so bad that they are funny". The control system is clunky. The missions are clunky. My computer can eat the whole game in it's RAM as a RAMdrive, and between my CPU and graphics card I can play alt-tab-tennis between Dishonored and Skyrim, but this game plays clunky. Huh.

The ugly: Not really too much.

Summary: It's not "pop up advertising" bad, or troubled by massive errors. It's just bad. It gives the impression that the design team aimed high, but didn't have the strength, or perhaps interest, in making it fly. Not worth purchase.

I never played Dungeon Keeper, and therefore am not biased on this game. I simply loved it, and despite some annoying aspects (generally slow...), it is an entertaining game. Good Job.

If you're looking for Dungeon Keeper, keep looking. This game is essentially a theme park for people trying to kill you. Sure, you run a dungeon. Sure, there's a dungeon heart. Sure, there's goblins, and libraries and armories and monsters... but the library and armory is just something to make heroes happier, and your gold is mostly used to pile on the floor to keep heroes interested, all so that you can kill them before they decide to leave your amusement park and leave with the real currency of the game: soul energy.

Honestly, it sucks. It's a decent enough game in its own right; not nearly worth the price or anyone's attention, but it should be shot for pretending to cater to the Dungeon Keeper crowd.

That said, I guess it's okay if you pretend DK doesn't exist and this wasn't made to copy that much better series. I still don't recommend it for purchase, unless it's going for a few pennies and you feel like wasting money.
