Akihabara now supports the playback of your own mp3's or wav files! You'll find this feature under the single track menu, at the bottom. You need to know the BPM of your chosen file (beat detection is unfortunately quite hard to implement, and wonky at best). There are several guides on the interent for how to detect the BPM of a track though.
Currently working to improve the high score system, trying to device some way to save track name, and maybe have the online. Let me know if you have any suggestions.
Just some quick updates in addition to Pure Beat:
* Added mouse support for menus, and for the main game (leftcklick to change, right to drop, middle for super).
* All tracks can be played during Pure Beat. For standard play, they need to be unlocked through the campaign.
* Some bugfixes.
* Working on adding difficulty options to Pure Beat, and being able to map your own keys.
Ff you encounter any bugs, feel free to leave a note of it.
“The title is solid all around, and is a good match for puzzle fans looking for something new or rhythm fans looking for more timing mechanics in the puzzle-rhythm hybrid of games.”
7.5 – Bemanistyle
“Akihabara - Feel the Rhythm delivers a worthy entry in the genre and adds more than enough of its own personality and flavor to keep those within its demographic coming back for more of its great music and authentic atmosphere.”
