About This Game

Set in the zombie apocalypse, Left 4 Dead 2 (L4D2) is the highly anticipated sequel to the award-winning Left 4 Dead, the #1 co-op game of 2008.
This co-operative action horror FPS takes you and your friends through the cities, swamps and cemeteries of the Deep South, from Savannah to New Orleans across five expansive campaigns.
You'll play as one of four new survivors armed with a wide and devastating array of classic and upgraded weapons. In addition to firearms, you'll also get a chance to take out some aggression on infected with a variety of carnage-creating melee weapons, from chainsaws to axes and even the deadly frying pan.
You'll be putting these weapons to the test against (or playing as in Versus) three horrific and formidable new Special Infected. You'll also encounter five new “uncommon” common infected, including the terrifying Mudmen.
Helping to take L4D's frantic, action-packed gameplay to the next level is AI Director 2.0. This improved Director has the ability to procedurally change the weather you'll fight through and the pathways you'll take, in addition to tailoring the enemy population, effects, and sounds to match your performance. L4D2 promises a satisfying and uniquely challenging experience every time the game is played, custom-fitted to your style of play.
  • Next generation co-op action gaming from the makers of Half-Life, Portal, Team Fortress and Counter-Strike.
  • Over 20 new weapons & items headlined by over 10 melee weapons – axe, chainsaw, frying pan, baseball bat – allow you to get up close with the zombies
  • New survivors. New Story. New dialogue.
  • Five expansive campaigns for co-operative, Versus and Survival game modes.
  • An all new multiplayer mode.
  • Uncommon common infected. Each of the five new campaigns contains at least one new “uncommon common” zombies which are exclusive to that campaign.
  • AI Director 2.0: Advanced technology dubbed “The AI Director” drove L4D's unique gameplay – customizing enemy population, effects, and music, based upon the players’ performance. L4D 2 features “The AI Director 2.0” which expands the Director’s ability to customize level layout, world objects, weather, and lighting to reflect different times of day.
  • Stats, rankings, and awards system drives collaborative play

It's super fun to play with friends, and with different "Mutations" or game modes, it gives the game lots of variability, so it's quite difficult to become bored. There are also thousands of mods and maps on the Steam Workshop, so you can customize game sounds, characters, etc, which can make for a pretty humorous experience, if that's what you're into. I've been VERY impressed with the content on the Steam Workshop. It's by far my favorite zombie game.

Although this game is awesome, I would recommend waiting for a sale, for this game is usually sold for less than $5, and it goes on sale quite often.

I wasn't impressed with Left 4 Dead 2, none in the least. It's your typical shoot-to-survive source game but there's something about this game that is just plain boring. That doesn't mean I didn't like the game, it was alright but for the sake of my review I'm not gonna be recommending it.

Here's my breakdown of Left 4 Dead 2:

Pros
- Includes 70 Steam Achievements and 8 Steam Trading Cards
- Graphics are decent considering this is a dated game
- Tons of Levels aimed to keep you busy for hours and hours (but also bored out of your skull)
- Plenthora of Gamemodes (Both Online & Offline) - From Survival to Co-Op to Singleplayer
- System Requirements are reasonably low

Cons
- Multiplayer is complete Garbage. It's not worth my time to put up with all the crap that goes on there.
- Game includes long, dull missions that feel the same to me. (i.e. Shoot this, blow up that)
- Community is completely unmoderated. Most admins are 12-year-olds using their parents discover card to completely destroy the community. Thanks a lot for wasting my time.
- Requirements are misleading. I can run this game just fine on Nvidia Geforce 6150LE (below 6600).
- Under no circumstances is this game actually worth the asking price. Get it on sale or don't get it all.
- The AI in this game is 'clunky' at best. Whoever coded it probably never actually tested it, let alone play this game.
- Healing/Mepacks in this game is stupid. It's not as simple as running up to an item and healing yourself, actual medpacks like that don't exist. You have to 'wait' while you're healed or get healed by a team member. In both scenarios its likely you'll be repeatedly attacked by Boomers, Jockeys, and all the other zombies.
- The Missions/Stories aren't restricted to be played in order, if you like you can immediately jump to the last level. Worst concept every imagined. There's not even a 'Play-to-Unlock' levels as we've seen in other source games like Half-Life 2 for example.

My Rating: 5/10 (Not Recommended)

I just Love the A.I SYSTEM >:(
i clearly hate the a.i system
my reason is
they remove your fav weapon into their fav weapon (Deagle for handgun,M60 for sniper,GrenadeLauncher for shotgun)
or they will exchange explosive rounds for medkit (i say ammo is hella more important then health (A.I systems FAILURE)
3/10 ratings
the 3 is
common,simple,easy(maybe) and addicting
and further is the A.I system in multiplayer
I Do Recommend but i just hate the A.I system in multiplayer

I played this game a fair bit back on the 360, and I honestly thought I'd gotten the most out of the game on there until my brother pestered me into playing again. And holy hell I forgot how much fun this game is. This is one of the most fun co-op games I've ever had the pleasure of playing, and even in single player this game holds up really, really well. Despite the age, the gameplay is surprisingly refreshing and visceral as you shove and shoot your way through thousands of the undead. Every weapon has punch and with mods sound and look even more menacing. The common infected are a threat but can be mowed by the hundreds like moulch, and the special infected are deadly when they strike in unision. The synergy between the different aspects of the gameplay is incredible to behold as you play through the game's massive library of campaigns (almost 12 multi-level campaigns with different characters and settings! That's crazy!)

I've downloaded a few modded campaigns and survival maps and it's made the game that much more replayable, and though I can't speak for the multiplayer as of late - steam can't find this game for whatever reason so I launch with '-insecure' unfortunately :( - the whole package is more than worth the money. My only real criticisms are that the campaigns are only 'arcadey' in an almost 'DOOM'-like way, when mods like Raccoon City Nemesis show that it can be done in a narrative way with more complexity and longer run times, and that the weapon variety could have some more weapon types, even though there is plenty to choose from already. Last one, being that the maps don't have enough 'branching paths' which add just enough confusion to make the playthroughs interesting every time. If you go into the developer commentary map in the extras, you'll see what I mean. I'm sure if they make a L4D3 (which may not happen because of how much this game offers now) that these types of campaigns will be included and these types of fixes included, but as it stands the game is more than worth your time and deserves to be played.

900+ Hours and counting.
This sequel is #1 on my list of Recommended Games. The Left 4 Dead Series is an instant classic, released 7 years ago and it still holds up. Play alone or play with your friends (or strangers), you will enjoy this game for countless hours. L4D2 is an improvement to an already fantastic and entertaining game. Make new friends, or lose some, the game focuses on cooperative gameplay that will teach you how to be patient and make you a great team player. You can download new maps and customize the whole game with mods from the workshop. This is the Best Zombie Co-op game ever!

Here are some pros:
+Easy mechanics, no boring story-line
+Community is alive and well (90% of the people on my friends list are from this game).
+Endless mods on the Workshop. It's like walking into a grocery store.
+Funny and witty Character Lines.
+Melee Weapons
+More Blood
+New Survivors, New Campaigns, New Zombies.
+Achievements that you will enjoy hunting for.
+Cool Easter Eggs and Movie references.
+Random jump scares every once in a while.
+Boomer is still Ugly

I only have one Con though:
-GOOD GUY NICK!!!

10/10 Would kill all sons-a-♥♥♥♥♥es again!

Left 4 Dead 2 is a pretty fun game, but i hate the fact that sometimes i join a game and i get killed by griefers. I usually make my own servers to have fun with and kick/ban players that dare to ruin the game.

Just beware of those types of people. :]

Convinced my mom to get me a Steam card for my birthday which I used to purchase L4D2. I had played a bit of L4D1 before, but it doesn't compare to this one. Every Valve game I've played has been fantastic, which includes Portal 1, 2 and L4D. The Physics are hyper-realistic, the textures are flawless, and on top of all that beauty lies the fact that it runs very smoothly on my computer. Not a whole lot of guns, but the realism and amazingness makes up for it. Valve is doing fantastic work, now all we need is Left 4 Dead 3!

Kick simulator 2009:

  • Don't have more than 100 hours in-game? Vote kicked.

  • Accidentally miss a charge? Vote kicked.

  • Don't help a pounced survivore within two seconds? Vote kicked.

  • Only incapacitate one survivore as a tank? Vote kicked.

  • Don't share your pills? Vote kicked.

  • Steal somebody's kill? Vote kicked.

  • Walk fifteen meters ahead of your team? Vote kicked.

  • Your team dies but you make it to the safe room? Vote kicked.

  • Didn't attack the survivors the nanosecond your team did? Vote kicked.

  • Accidentally shoot a team mate? Vote kicked.

  • Don't speak Russian? Vote kicked.

Don't get me wrong, this is an absolutely amazing game, if there was a "neutral" button, I'd totally click that, but if you really want to have a good time, play with your friends. Otherwise finding a server with decent people on is very hard.

Left4Dead2 is Left4Dead2!

One of the best. bloodiest and funniest zombie-shooter.
Unlike the previous part, now you have a variety of choices how and with what you're going to kill hordes of zombies. New special infected, new weapons (melee, shotguns, sniper, rifles and grenades), new medicine and of course new characters and new game modes. Also the large workshop with new campaigns, skins, sounds and a lot of useful stuff for any taste.

It is also great that there is an ability to play the campaigns from the first Left4Dead and there is a connection between the characters from both parts.

If you like zombie apocalypse theme, then this is the game you must play! Grab your friends and lets kill these undead ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥s!

10 burning tanks of 10.
