What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“As part of the prerelease process, I want to know what you think is the most fun game mode! What features would you most like to see added? Where can I polish the game further?”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Early Access will last until I feel the game has a solid enough level of polish and replayability, and ideally community suggestions will play a role in deciding what new features should be added before release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I plan to implement more mission types, and have considered possibilities such as the following: asteroid defense, capture the flag, asteroid mining, or even hovertank combat. I'd also love to have global leaderboards for mission times and so forth. It all depends on what you would like to see, and what I can accomplish based on your support. Other than game mechanics, there will be plenty more polish in the released game as well in terms of sound, visuals, controls, and guidance.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“This Early Access release has succeeded in creating an intuitive locomotion scheme set in an immersive space environment with several introductory game modes. My next goal is to develop the gameplay content for further diversity and replayability, while providing additional polish to the experience overall.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“My plan is to offer a lower price before the game is released. Get in early for a lower cost in exchange for constructive feedback.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I'm engaged in discussion in the Community Hub, on Reddit, and through in-person demos. Thanks for all of your feedback so far, it has all been helpful.”

About This Game

One Giant Leap is a virtuality game for the Vive that allows you to take one small step for room, one giant leap for room-scale.
But that's enough moon cheese, let's get to the moon game itself!

In One Giant Leap you are equipped with a pair of booster jets for controllers! Instead of teleporting around, experience an intuitive form of locomotion similar to that of your lucid dreams – flying! Simply thrust downward, and feel yourself launched upward; or aim your jets behind, and be propelled ahead! With this method of motion, you may smoothly complete missions on the moon, as well as explore the stunning lunar terrain in free flight. You have an open-moon environment at your controller-tips!

There are multiple mission types currently available, including:
  • 4 Courses
  • 2 Asteroid Hunts
  • 2 Force Flights
  • Free Flight

One Giant Leap was inspired by innovative games like Battlezone, Freelancer, and Tribes Ascend for their immersive space environments and joy of maneuverability.
My goal is to manifest those kinds of experiences on the Vive.

Enjoy your moon landing!
