End of May Status Update

Hello people,

I just wanted to share a bit of information about what's going on and officially introduce a new member of our team.

First off, we are coming along nicely with another significant update.

A few weeks ago we finally received a new source dump of the current CSGO version of Source Engine.
Let me explain real quick what this means for you.

Tactical Intervention since the OGP release before Steam has been built with a modified version of Portal2, with a number of customization's and optimizations from the main Source Engine branch.
We've also had GO's CSM (Cascaded Shadow Mapping) from an ALPHA version of GO, shortly after it was first completed. This has always been something that improves the visuals of the game, but has also been a performance hog - some of you may have noticed that the game wasn't running very fast for the past year.
Now, for the first time in 3 years we're finally able to update the shadows and apply a lot of optimizations. TI Is still slower than GO, but we are working as hard as possible to improve it, so you can expect the next update to improve even more.

Secondly I would like to Introduce Pavle. He has his own Source Modification called HYPOVOLEMIA. Pavle has been a major help to us, and his dedication to fix all of the little things that we either never had the time or severely lacked the resources to fix over the years. Whether it's collision clipping, game-play flow optimization, texture quality improving, he has been a godsend. He has spent a lot of his free time going over every single existing map that we have with a fine toothed comb fixing exploits, bugs, graphical mistakes, and as all of you know, there have been lots of them :).

All in all, with this next update we're hoping to make the game a lot more enjoyable for all of you - thanks for having been loyal to us in all these years.

Maintenance

Hello,

We're running maintenance right now to update the game. We'll be back as soon as possible. We discovered a few issues that need to be fixed before it can complete, Maintenance won't last more than a couple hours at most.

Thanks,

About This Game

Tactical Intervention is a Free to Play tactical FPS with unique mechanics. Drive, bomb, rappel and shoot your way through eleven high octane levels.

Command attack dogs, deploy breaching charges, perform drive-bys and control hostage situations!

From the brilliant mind of Minh “Gooseman” Le, the co-creator of the seminal team-based FPS Counter-Strike, comes its spiritual successor, Tactical Intervention. Take your role as either terrorist or counter-terrorist and confront opponents in fierce and frantic combat over a variety of high energy maps wielding authentic real world weapons, from the classic P90 to the terrorist favourite, the AK47.

Featuring unique games modes and mechanics not seen in other shooters, Tactical Intervention allows you to experience first person combat from an entirely new perspective. Hijack a car to take part in an intense highway chase; unload your high-powered Gabard shotgun at the VIP while leaning out the window, as your opponents scramble to protect him. Take out the covering helicopter with a well-placed shot from an RPG while you handbrake turn to broadside your target.

Experience the thrill of rappelling down a building, kicking in the plexiglass, hurling a flash bang, grabbing a hostage as a human shield, and dealing some rapid fire death with your Uzi. Use riot shields to defend yourself against enemy forces and then command your vicious German Shepard attack dog to savage terrorists out of line of sight. Dive to cover and lay down suppressing fire with your Aug assault rifle so your teammates can liberate the terrified hostages.

Combining the strategic elements of modern team-based shooters with the pure thrill of the original Counter Strike series, Tactical Intervention brings a whole new level of gaming to the battlefield and lets players feel the true intensity of battle. With a huge variety of weapons, special equips, authentic combat uniforms and paths to victory, Tactical Intervention truly is the next evolution in team-based combat. So grab your P90, slap on a red-dot, twist in a silencer and dive into TI!

A New Era in Tactical Combat

  • Created by Minh ‘Gooseman’ Le, co-creator of the original Counter-Strike.

One of the best free games out there. But one problem. In game purchases cost a hell of alot of money considering it's just credits.

For People who liked Counter Strike Source. This is the perfect game for those people and in my opinion I did enjoy playing Counter Strike:Source and will recommend this to people who loved a kind of game with the whole cops and robbers scenario.

One of the better F2P games here on Steam that isn't in a P2W model. TI is a CS clone by one of the original co-creators of Counter-Strike, Minh "Goosemen" Le. So that is to say, a round based FPS hipshooter, involving hostages, bombs, and the escorting of the VIP (Player or AI depending on which level).

Pro's
  • Equipment: Dogs, C4, Riot/Glass Shield, Sniper Rifles, and Armour (All usable in most mission modes).
  • Weapon attachment: Silencer, Flashlight, Acog, Red-Dot, and Holosight (rentable bi-weekly for GP) .
  • Some small perk variations possibilities, extra ammo, XP and GP accuisition, Medkit (rentable weekly for GP).
  • Every gun and piece of equipment is purchasable for permanent with GP, except for Medium and Heavy Armour, which are rent only.
  • Cars on a few maps!
  • Lean-tos (Peak and lean mechanic done with Q or E) of which function in the car, allowing for some Dukes of Haphazard spray and pray.
  • A slight sway when scoped in with the Acog attachement or sniper rifles.
  • Team healing (Defaultly set as the T button), albeit unrealistic, but it's no medpack laying in a corner!
  • Other game modes such as Deathmatch, Free-for-All, and Intel.
  • DLC for custom skins
  • Friendly Fire
Cons
  • Friendly Fire (Some rounds it just needs to be turned to Mirrored rather than Full or Partial... or worse, off)
  • Lack of a tutorial level or a ranked server load for that initial level 1 learning curve (you may get bit swimming with those sharks).
  • No Ironsights! NO IRONSIGHTS!!! rent the Acog Scope attachment already.
  • The two dogs from the DLC starterpacks have a 4% bonus to one of their 3 stats, being the exception to the P2W model (no other ingame money only bonuses though).
  • Small player base currently, so some issues with which servers are being used due to the low player base.

Consider this review a recruitment poster... Uncle Spam needs you!!!

It's like Counter Strike Global Offensive, but with rappelling and broken driving. 10/10 better than CSGO.
