What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Project Lounge has been in development approximately since Spring 2016. Since then it had many technical overhauls which helped to get core of the game ready. The game is already playable and quite fun. Furthermore, having Project Lounge in Early Access will allow us to receive community feedback and steer the game development in the right direction.

At the moment our small, yet growing community centered on the Discord server which you can join using the following link:
https://discord.gg/EMjN5Fs

Please feel free to join the Discord if you don't even own the game and would like to hear more about the game!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“It's hard to predict how long will it take because game development is something that is hard to value in time. Hopefully it's going to last just around a year. The biggest factor for adjusting Early Access duration will be done in consideration of the general community opinion and other factors.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Main focus throughout Early Access will be given to:
  • Lounge Editor
  • Optimization
  • More ways to interact inside Lounge
  • VR Support
  • Deeper Customization
  • Linux and MacOS support
  • Quality of Life Updates
  • Most-Wanted Community Features
These are the main points that we will reflect on to before considering the game to be final.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Project Lounge contains all the core features. You can create your own environment through the Lounge Editor, interact with objects inside Lounges which are owned through the Steam Inventory, invite friends or join friends using the native Steam Interface.

It's a perfect foundation to expand the game and improve other core features which will allow more frequent updates. However, the core might still get changes and the future Lounge Editor might not be compatible with older Lounge Editor saves, we'll try out best to avoid this or possibly come up with converters.

Furthermore, the game lacks player base so that there would be at least one Lounge hosted 24/7. So we concentrate our Community around Discord Server which you can join using the following link:

https://discord.gg/EMjN5Fs”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The Early Access price is not likely to change, but there's a chance it might go up with a major update to reflect game quality and content.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“With help of the Community input we will be able to sort the priority list right. We will constantly be listening to what the Community has to say. We will also encourage to contribute to the game through Steam Workshop by uploading their own works.”

State of Project Lounge

To all who have been wondering what's with the absence of updates and all that kind of stuff alike.

Right now I'm very busy getting ready for upcoming school exams and that means progress has been quite stagnant. My last exam will be on June 16th. After that day, the development pace will steamroll into full potential as it was on the launch days!

I hope to push out one major before getting back to full pace. It's going to include optimized saving system and upcoming Unity 5.6 which features network optimization and it's a really big deal for game like Project Lounge!

If you've got any questions, please comment here or on our Discord server, I'll try to answer all the questions!

Thank You for supporting Project Lounge, we still have a lot to go!

About This Game

Action takes place in player-made locations called Lounges which are made through the Lounge Editor by shaping terrain, setting time of day and placing various objects. The creator of the Lounge is able to set various permissions, privacy settings and invite others to visit. The owner and visitors are also able to populate the Lounge with various Interactable Objects that might just be a simple prop, an arcade machine. The only goal in Project Lounge is to have fun.

Features:

  • Lounge Editor - It's just like your usual map editor, with no object caps, just the way we love it on PC. The only limit is your system specifications.
  • Interactable Objects - Drawboards for drawing, Arcades to play, Vinyls to play and more! Earn them by playing the game and receiving drops, even while you're in the Lounge Editor!
  • Steam Inventory - Collect, trade and sell your Interactable Objects through Steam Inventory and show off what you've got to your friends and visitors alike.
  • Steam Workshop - Do you know how to make 3D models? Or perhaps you compose music? If so, you can contribute to Project Lounge at Steam Workshop!
