Wozu Early Access?

“MiniBotz is the first indie game development produced by our small dev team. We are finally ready to involve the public with its development, but we aren’t quite ready for a final release. Currently we have two game modes available for play (Local multiplayer and single-player survival mode), and would like to include the community as part of our balancing and bug testing phase - in addition to gauging the reaction to future content.”

“We intend to add four player co-op survival mode (online multi-player), and networked multiplayer soon after the early access release. Additional difficulty modes, bots, maps, skins, power-ups, and game modes are also slated depending on the reaction to the game. Planned game modes would be such as "King of the Hill" or "Soccer/Football”.

We’d also like to implement level streaming that allows for massive arena based multiplayer games, with up to as many as 24 players on one map (if our ambitions can be realized).”

Was ist der derzeitige Stand der Early Access-Version?

“Single-player and Multi-player survival mode is available for play. A player takes control of 1 of 4 bots (of their choice), and attempts to achieve a high score by killing as many enemies as possible - while they rush you in endless waves. There are two types of enemy to choose between (Cockroaches or Gummy Bears), which are fundamentally identical in terms of gameplay - but use different models/animations depending on player preference. There are also “power-ups” that augment/improve your character for a short time, that a player must collect during gameplay (extra damage, health, etc). Each player character has a unique model/animation set, as well as a unique set of attacks.

Local multi-player mode is also available for play. This feature centers around arena-style combat between the available player characters, supporting between 2 to 4 players. Each player starts with a predetermined amount of health, and then attempts to defeat the other characters through melée and projectile based combat in an effort to be the last remaining combatant. This mode also incorporates the power-up system described in survival.

We currently have 4 unique character robots to choose from, across 5 various maps, and the choice between two enemies on survival mode.”

Whats New:
  • All levels have had their lighting changed and improved.
  • Included Black Hole and Radiation power ups back to Chaos mode but not Control mode.
  • Updated title menu background images to reflect changes in each level's lighting.
  • Updated some navigation meshes

Fixes:
  • Corrected a bug where the game would spike the cpu and crash the game.
  • Corrected a bug where if both players choose Gizmo in Chaos mode, player two would not receive points.
  • Removed physics interpolation for all rigid body assets to reduce performance hit due to a bug inside the Unity Engine.
  • Improved Ai algorithm for capturing flags.
  • Corrected a bug where two Clips on the same level would cause a frame drop.

MiniBotz v4.1.0

Whats New:
  • Added new Control Mode
    Control mode has several new features not seen in MiniBotz before. This includes challenging AI, and capturing spawn points!
  • Added more music tracks.
  • Added the ability of the game to choose a random music track when the previous one is finished.
  • Expanded the size of all play levels so now more area is available to play in!
  • Added new texture sets to specific objects in the game. Can all the hidden easter eggs be found?

Fixes:
  • Removed the ability of the player to rotate their bot when the game is paused.
  • Updated and re-baked all navmeshes in all levels. (How the AI knows where to move)
  • Optimized and corrected targeting for enemies.
  • Several stability fixes. The rate that the game crashes to desktop or freezes should be now significantly reduced.
  • Corrected some typos in the menu system text fields.
