Update #8 - Hotfix update

This week we have prepared a new update with some balance changes. We feel they are rather important in order to balance the game a bit more towards investigators, so we've decided to release it earlier than usual.

Gameplay changes:

  • Creature teleport: Increased shared cooldown from 5 to 15 seconds.
  • Creature teleport: Increased teleport distance from ~25m to ~32.5m
  • Darcy: Turn speed reduction during Mourn changed from 60% to 40%
  • Vincent: Increased Vitality by 1 point, increased Experienced effect by 10%
  • Hannah: Deafness penalty changed from 50% to 30%

Bugfixes:
  • Changed/Fixed random character/flashlight selection behavior on multiplayer games: It was done using host's level and DLCs, now it uses player's level. DLC characters/items won't be assigned if using Random.

Update #7 - Dark Purpose

A portal between worlds has been opened, allowing all manner of horrors to roam the earth! A new clue has been added to the game, in which you will have to find all the missing pieces to seal an ancient rift once and for all.

And to satisfy the investigators' thirst of knowledge, tapes now play short recordings about the events that lead to the vanishing of a previous scouting group. What were they really up to?

New features:

  • New special Clue: The Rift.
  • Now recordings can be heard when picking up tapes, like in the original White Noise.

Improvements:
  • Added a new insanity effect (it's up to you to find out!).
  • Added a new distortion effect to the intro panels.
  • Match lobby: Characters with no flashlight selected will be shown holding the random flashlight model.

Gameplay changes:
  • Darcy's Cairn: Reduced base duration of negative effects (Speed reduction, flashlight disabled) from 15 to 10 seconds. Mark duration remains the same.
  • Teleport skill: Increased cooldown to 75 seconds
  • Increased flashlight slowdown by 4%
  • Increased lightstick slowdown by 3%
  • Astaroth: Breakdown effect is cancelled when someone is grabbed

Bugfixes:
  • Fixed "near death" effect not restoring right away when using a medkit.
  • Fixed softlock regarding connection error messages.
  • Fixed Sarah's Shadow skill not working properly.
  • Linux: Should have fixed the "Process not starting issue". It's an experimental fix provided by the Unity team, so please report back in the forums.

About This Game

Enjoy a fresh horror experience with White Noise 2!

White Noise 2 is the sequel of the successful White Noise Online. Be a part of the investigator team, or take control of the creature and devour them! White Noise 2 offers a 4vs1 asymmetric horror experience that won't leave anyone unmoved.

Play with your friends

White Noise 2 features a simple matchmaking system that allows you to play with your friends without complications. Enter the game, choose your side or leave it to luck, and start playing!

The investigators are back

As an investigator, explore the area, cooperate with your partners, and make sure not to get lost, or you'll be easy prey for the creature! Try not to lose your sanity and watch your flashlight battery level to avoid walking blind.

And the creature as well!

As the creature, stalk your preys and hunt them without being seen. Light can stun you, so use your powers to avoid it and wreak havoc upon the investigators, spreading them to make easier preys. Summon totems that will warn you of the presence of nearby investigators, and prevent them from picking the 8 tapes before you finish them off!

Back from the grave

In White Noise 2, death doesn't mean game over. Rise as a ghost and take advantage of your enhanced exploration skills to help the remaining investigators in their search.

Unlock new items

Unlock new characters and flashlights as you play, including the classic White Noise Online characters. Each one has different specializations and skills. Do you prefer a stealhty approach, or will focus on speed even while making noise? Better flashlight battery, or improved exploration skills?

Relive the best moments

Of course, the signature replay screen is back in White Noise 2. Once the thrilling session is over, take a laugh checking how the team walked in circles, or one of the investigators got lost!
