What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We think communication with the community is key to make White Noise 2 the best possible game, moreover when it has a strong online component.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Depending of the amount of feedback we get, we plan to stay on Early Access for a few months, adding content and new features regularly.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan on adding more unlockable characters and more levels. Depending on the amount of feedback, it's likely that we'll also add new gameplay mechanics and new creatures with different powers.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version is perfectly playable and mostly bug-free.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game price will probably increase once it gets out of Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We're always reading the discussion forums and taking note of all suggestions, as well as letting users know our plans beforehand. We try to keep a regular update schedule, delivered updates on a weekly basis.”

Update #29 - A Nightmare to Remember

The main feature of this update is the experimental party support. You can now invite friends and start looking for a game with enough slots available together, or create a private match and start playing.

If you find any issues please let us know and report them on the forums.

We also wanted to let you know that we're on the final stretch towards release! (more news the following week). Until then, no more big content updates will be done, but we're still working on them so rest assured they will come later!

New features:

  • Experimental party support to create/find games as a group.

Improvements:
  • Updated connectivity plugin, hopefully it will help solving network issues.
  • Increased draw distance on high quality settings. This will help with trees/buildings being cut with the skybox.
  • Most UI listings are now looped (you can go from the first to the last and viceversa).

Gameplay changes:
  • Sanity loss is halved when a monster is grabbing someone, or teleporting away. (Since you're forced to look at the monster at those points, it was too easy to become crazy while looking at the monster going away).

Bugfixes:
  • Fixed bot getting stuck on a specific point in Alvira Bunker
  • Fixed showing incorrect pose in the lobby when a player hasn't selected a flashlight yet.
  • Fixed highlights being shown for a second when an investigator is teleported away with a Cairn.

Update #28 - Hotfix update

Today's update brings a few fixes. These are brought early because they could improve network connectivity for some people and we want to test them as soon as possible.

There's also a few tweaks to Darcy to reduce her power a little bit, and an improvement to investigators' Stealth as suggested by users.

Gameplay changes

  • Darcy: Reduced Wraith speed benefit when affected by light.
  • Darcy: Decreased Mourn effect duration a bit.
  • Stealth: Now it modifies duration of all monster power effects affecting an investigator (such as traps, cairns, Lights Out, etc). Higher stealth means shorter effects.

Improvements
  • When disconnection to Relay servers is detected, the host will try to reconnect (Experimental)

About This Game

Enjoy a fresh horror experience with White Noise 2!

White Noise 2 is the sequel of the successful White Noise Online. Be a part of the investigator team, or take control of the creature and devour them! White Noise 2 offers a 4vs1 asymmetric horror experience that won't leave anyone unmoved.

Play with your friends

White Noise 2 features a simple matchmaking system that allows you to play with your friends without complications. Enter the game, choose your side or leave it to luck, and start playing!

The investigators are back

As an investigator, explore the area, cooperate with your partners, and make sure not to get lost, or you'll be easy prey for the creature! Try not to lose your sanity and watch your flashlight battery level to avoid walking blind.

And the creature as well!

As the creature, stalk your preys and hunt them without being seen. Light can stun you, so use your powers to avoid it and wreak havoc upon the investigators, spreading them to make easier preys. Summon totems that will warn you of the presence of nearby investigators, and prevent them from picking the 8 tapes before you finish them off!

Back from the grave

In White Noise 2, death doesn't mean game over. Rise as a ghost and take advantage of your enhanced exploration skills to help the remaining investigators in their search.

Unlock new items

Unlock new characters and flashlights as you play, including the classic White Noise Online characters. Each one has different specializations and skills. Do you prefer a stealhty approach, or will focus on speed even while making noise? Better flashlight battery, or improved exploration skills?

Relive the best moments

Of course, the signature replay screen is back in White Noise 2. Once the thrilling session is over, take a laugh checking how the team walked in circles, or one of the investigators got lost!
