About This Game

From Valve (the creators of Counter-Strike, Half-Life and more) comes Left 4 Dead, a co-op action horror game for the PC and Xbox 360 that casts up to four players in an epic struggle for survival against swarming zombie hordes and terrifying mutant monsters.
Set in the immediate aftermath of the zombie apocalypse, L4D's survival co-op mode lets you blast a path through the infected in four unique “movies,” guiding your survivors across the rooftops of an abandoned metropolis, through rural ghost towns and pitch-black forests in your quest to escape a devastated Ground Zero crawling with infected enemies. Each "movie" is comprised of five large maps, and can be played by one to four human players, with an emphasis on team-based strategy and objectives.
New technology dubbed "the AI Director" is used to generate a unique gameplay experience every time you play. The Director tailors the frequency and ferocity of the zombie attacks to your performance, putting you in the middle of a fast-paced, but not overwhelming, Hollywood horror movie.
  • Addictive single player, co-op, and multiplayer action gameplay from the makers of Counter-Strike and Half-Life
  • Versus Mode lets you compete four-on-four with friends, playing as a human trying to get rescued, or as a zombie boss monster that will stop at nothing to destroy them.
  • See how long you and your friends can hold out against the infected horde in the new Survival Mode
  • An advanced AI director dynamically creates intense and unique experiences every time the game is played
  • 20 maps, 10 weapons and unlimited possibilities in four sprawling "movies"
  • Matchmaking, stats, rankings, and awards system drive collaborative play
  • Designer's Commentary allows gamers to go "behind the scenes" of the game
  • Powered by Source and Steam

THE SACRIFICE

"The Sacrifice” is the new add-on for Left 4 Dead.

"The Sacrifice" is the prequel to "The Passing," and takes place from the L4D Survivors' perspective as they make their way South. In addition to advancing the story, "The Sacrifice" introduces a new style finale featuring "Sacrificial Gameplay" where players get to decide who will give their life so the others may live.

In The Sacrifice for Left 4 Dead owners receive "The Sacrifice" campaign playable in Campaign, Versus, and Survival modes.

Left 4 Dead is the definitive zombie game that still holds up to this day. The maps are fun and memorable the animations really bring out the weapons. However the characters are for the most part dull and uninteresting. Also since the game was released so long ago Left 4 Dead does not support the Steam workshop. But if you can look past all that than I think you will enjoy this amazing title. I would go as far to say that Left 4 Dead is better than it's sequel. All in all this is a great game from a great fanbase. KILLZONE gives this game a 9/10. Fantastic.

This game is decent, but if your deciding between left 4 dead or left 4 dead 2 GET 2! I've bought both games, and have played both games, and left 4 dead 2 is just so much better. Don't even consider getting this one unless you are getting Left 4 dead 2 as well. I'm not saying this game is bad, because it's not all I'm saying is that Left 4 Dead 2 is better.

This game is a horrible experience, the only worst than this is Payday.

- the single player is ruined why did they got it in the game
- the AI teammates constantly fail to do anything useful for 90% of the time
- not everyone has friends that play this game or care for
- if it didn't had the singleplayer i wouldn't have bought it

Unless the AI is better then an aimbot with no brain i can't recommend it. 4/10

Left 4 Dead has never ceased to be fun. Playing the game now it's clear it's aging. It's a great game that's just been made shallow by other newer co op experiences. Still a great time with friends, but I emphasize WITH FRIENDS. Pairing up with other players randomly will only result in an awful experience where no one seems to know how to work together or even know what their objective is. Save yourself the frustration and only play with friends.

When I was realllllllllllly young, I thought lfd 1 was the scariest game ever! LOL I'm not the kind of person to play scary games, but something about this game interested me. This addicting coop game was once my most played game and was one of the 4th games I had ever played. I guess me and my friends kinda grew up with this game. Then lfd 2 came out with new weapons and even melee weapons! Suprisingly, they kinda have simular yet different ways of playing! For anyone who has Left for Dead 2, I would consider getting the classic to get a new feel in Left for Dead! *drops mic and leaves stage* hehe

I love this game so much. More than 1000 hours spent on 360 and 200 on PC. I have met so many friendly people.
I had so much fun, but sadly. This game was killed by it's own develepers. Porting content from this game to sequel was Valve's mistake. Valve promised that they will support this game, but what did they give in the end?

Left 4 Dead. The real ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ when it comes to zombie shooters. This was a fantastic game at the time, but since the release of Left 4 Dead 2, there is not much reason to buy this game. All content that was featured in L4D1 is implemented in L4D2. However, L4D1 does feature a slightly *darker* atmosphere and horror. When you look down you actually see your feet, and admittedly the L4D1 survivors featured in L4D2 have slightly buggy animations. All in all, if you want the authentic Left 4 Dead 1 experience, I will recommend this game. Before the release of L4D2, I would highly recommend this game. There's not much reason to get this game.

This is a great game, but Left 4 Dead 2 is literally the same game and more. Save your money and grab the sequel.

Awesome. Just. Awesome. Still return to it again and again despite the griefers. Definitely a good way to cure your fear of zombies. Or develop a fear of zombies you never knew you had. Will definitely be drawing from this experience come the zompocalypse.
