Another expansion pack for the original HL, this time giving us a look into the "enemy side" and the way that the events of Black Mesa affected the Marine Corps called to "contain" the situation. The main character Corporal Adrian Sherpard is brought into the facility but things dont go like planned and all hell is broken loose.
Another short game that complements the original story of Gordon Freeman, but the ending of this game leads me to believe that we might see more of this character in future installements of HL, so it might not be just an expansion pack game.

9/10.

This game is an endless classic addition to the base Half-Life universe, a nice continuation of the feel of the original game that no fan should be without.

What an awesome and epic expansion for Half-Life! (Best expansion in my opinion)
We've got new weapons, cool enemies and more stuff that made the gameplay really good.
The story is amazing just like Half-Life and i highly recommend you to buy it!
However the Steam version got some problems. But i still recommend it!

Amazing 1st expansion to the notoriously great Half-Life. Brand new storyline that ties into the original. The rest of this review will contain spoilers. You are Adrian Shepard, a marine whose mission in the beginning is unknown. We eventually find out it's to kill Gordon Freeman. You crash into Black Mesa, and near the beginning (I forget if it's like the third chapter or something) you hear a scientist say "Hurry up Gordon, I can't keep it open any longer!" And we run into Gordon Freeman in the flesh. Spoiler mode: deactivated. The two storylines intertwine to make this whole complex thing that is hard to keep up with. But, keep an open mind and pay attention, and you just might get it. Opposing Force has everything Half-Life has to offer, and then some, such as new weapons, new survival tactics, and new enemies. I wouldn't be able to decide which one of the two is better, but I do know some people who chose this game, even though it's shorter. I don't know. Purchase and play it, and maybe you'll be one of those people.

Highly recommend this one
It consists of 12 Chapters, but overall, is just as short as Blue Shift
What i liked about it, was the Boot Camp. basically it's a typical traning mission, but well, a nicely done traning mission.Had a lot of Army stereotypes and Full Metal Jacket references
Now, unlike Blue Shift the game has a lot of new things added to it:
You get nightvision instead of the flashlight
sniper instead of the crossbow
pistol with a laser pointer instead of the revolver
wrench and a knife instead of the crowbar
2 new alien weapons, one is like a bazooka, the other has infinite ammo(shoots lightning balls)
Instead of long jumps, your protagonist climbs on ropes
1 new Black Mesa prototype weapon, that teleports you to Xen. The location you get teleported in has a lot of loot.
1 completely new weapon, not just an alternative model - a machine gun (M249 SAW)
There are new alien types to fight
Also, throughout the game, you will encounter your comrades, the most important ones are medic and engineer. Medic can patch you up, while the engineer can drill through doors.
And you would probably want to buy it for the plot
Though just like with Blue Shift, it doesn't really collide with Half Life 1 plot, you see Freeman once and that's it, but unlike Blue Shift, it has some important stuff to bring to the table
