Patch v1.1.0 - DLC release!

Hello there friends!

Today’s patch is a heady mix of sweet sweet content and much deliberated balances.

Content:
  • Smaceshi’s Castle’s DLC - Test your T42 assassin skills in our newly released challenge-based DLC! We’ve had a blast pulling together 90 new missions in a whole new open-world level, and are excited to hear how many of you are up to the task of collecting all of our shiny, precious medals.

  • Bishop’s Itchington Multiplayer map - Tokyo 42 base game owners can take a free visit to the local pub in the West-Midlands English town of Bishop’s Itchington: The perfect place to unwind and enjoy the countryside.
Balance:
  • Difficulty settings - Tokyo 42 is at times a challenging game so we decided to add some options for players who’d like to curate their experience a little more

There are 3 modes: Easy, Normal and Classic.

Easy mode gives the player a shield with 3 charges that act like extra lives - giving them a little bit of wiggle room after an unscheduled meeting with a stray rifle round. It also makes all of the player’s bullets a little bit faster than normal, making you more deadly than ever.

Normal mode provides only the sped-up bullets featured in Easy mode. We’ve found that these faster bullets really make the combat more punchy and fun, so this is our recommended level of play.

Classic Mode is untouched and keeps the original slightly harder T42 experience available for archivists and masochists alike.

The player can switch between these modes any time during single player play, and will have the option to choose their preference when choosing their initial save game.

  • Kill markers - Feedback is such an important part of playing games, so we’ve added a little animation and sfx when you successfully eliminate an enemy.

  • Aiming at ground - Rocket launchers and Heavy lasers are only truly useful when they actually explode where you want them to, so we’ve made the player aim at the ground by default when using these weapons. You can set this behaviour to be standard for all weapons too if you like, via the gameplay options menu.
Bugs:
  • There have been various mini little fixes that are making it into this patch, and as always we seriously appreciate the reports that we receive in order to help fix them. So please, feel free to continue to do so either here on the forums or in a mail to support@smacgames.com

Hotfix v1.0.5

Hey all,

So this patch is in response to a few serious issues players have been having. Thanks to those of you who have reported these and been waiting for the fixes. We have a few things on the go here and these fixes took a bit longer than they should have - we appreciate your patience.

Fixes:
  • Weapon Skins disappearing: as a result of a patch pushed recently to allow players to have their skins in multiplayer, players lost access to the skins they had previously collected under certain circumstances. We’ve restored these to the player now, and if you go back into the open world you should see that your skins have all returned.

  • Bike not spawning on entering the open world: The flag being checked to determine whether the player should have access to the bike was not set in time for the spawning manager, meaning that the bike would only spawn once a player did a mission with it in. This is now fixed and when entering the open world the bike will spawn under the bridge next to Yas’s bar IF you have previously completed a mission with the bike.

  • LAN multiplayer is working again: some technical issues slipped through the gaps with this and have now been addressed.
As always, thank you to our players and please do continue with the feedback and support. You can reach us either here on the discussions forums or on the support page at Tokyo42.com

Best,
SMAC
