About This Game

In an open sand box world you choose your allies, your enemies, what provinces to conquer, what castles to siege and what quests to embark on. With Fire & Sword builds and expands upon the highly regarded combat system from Mount & Blade: Warband. Firearms have been introduced to the battlefield. Additionally, muskets and pistols can now be used as sidearms in hand-to-hand combat to quickly drop your foes. In addition to the enhanced singleplayer mode, With Fire & Sword also provides a host of original multiplayer content including the new game mode: Captain.

Key Features:

  • A storyline based on the cult novel, "With Fire and Sword", from Nobel-prize winning author Henry Sienkiewicz.
  • A new century of warfare that brings pistols, muskets, grenades, and other advanced weaponry to the battlefield.
  • Fully customizable armies; players can outfit their soldiers with each piece of weaponry & armor.
  • Additional quest types. More political intrigue with colorful factions. More adventure in a new land.
  • Multiple endings to increase re-playability.
  • Deeply researched historical component encompassing every aspect of the game's assets.
  • Ferocious new multiplayer action, bringing players the thrill of pitting old technology against the looming threat of firearms.
  • 3 Main Story-driven quest-lines for the player to delve into once they've become known in a particular faction.
  • Additional quest types.
  • Implementation of firearms, adds a whole new layer of strategic depth to the franchise's proven combat model.

if you want mods go to warband but if you want to spend less money then go to this. it has a lot of depth like its predecessor but lacks a decent modding community and a community in general. great to play with a few friends

Meh,,, Not really impressed with this version. WB mods are better with better features. Its just the same old native with crappy graphics and guns. I was hoping for a lot more because this one is from taleworlds but its really not worth the time or effort when there's a ton of free mods that do a much better job.

I loved the "Fire and Sword" Trilogy and was excited to play this game. Unfortunately, compared to Mount and Blade:Warband, it is maddening and terrible for two major reasons:
1) Horribly unbalanced. Having to take on an army of 800 with an army of 70 or 100 is impossible.
Takes forever to build up enough steam to make a difference and the friendly AI is brain-dead compared to the
enemy AI and the onslaught of large Armies.
2) Wagon forts. Thank God they shot this idea in the head for Warband. Hate it. Wish there was a was to disable
the feature for Fire and Sword. Leads to same frustrating, slow, AI-broken battles, over and over and over.

Some of the land battles and castle defenses are great. The addition of firearms makes things quite challenging
as the stray bullet can kill you or your horse at any moment of a battle.

Good game but it's really meant for big M&B fans (Like me). Guns seem OP and there are many types of bandits that will try to kill you or capture you. Other than that if you're a big fan of the series its a must try. I recommend you get it on sale.

Entering the game...

Dreaming about being king... Dreaming about having a nice army and capturing castles, taking princes as a slave...
Dreaming about... Good things...

Then BANG ! Gets noscoped by some random bandits and becomes slave.

11/10 would get rekt by a bandit again.

I spent 5 years trying to come up with a funny review for this game. I failed. Now, I'm gonna stick with the good ol' boring, wannabe helpful review. just kidding.

I don't have an idea why I didn't reviewed this game for so long but seeing those fresh recruitments (thx to bannerlord I guess), I decided to be helpful to those who consider buying this game as a committed player of the series, "started playing Mount and Blade in Nov 2009" and spent many days&nights playing it since then.

Comparison to the previous games; Even tho scenarios to take the throne of some nations (like Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth and Russia) were added as a unique feature to it's predecessors, Single player was a little... dull. Despite using firearms, siege artillery still wasn't added to the game. There are some features like; ordering a weapon for yourself, changing equipment of the mercenaries from their camps for a price (yeah, they have camps now) etc. but also It didn't have marriage or creating your own kingdom/empire so they took some things out, put some in.
Multiplayer on the other hand was quite entertaining, especially clan battles. So just go for it If you want to pvp.

The game isn't demanding and most likely to run smoothly on ancient rigs. (Hello 128 MB Video Card) Graphics are ok, not great but ok. (Graphics wasn't the MB's strong suit anyways).

* 7/10

I do not understand why this is a Standalone and not a Warband DLC, but meh. It is not so bad.

An enhanced XVII century Eastern Europe mod for Mount&Blade Warband.
Great writing, especially in original, quite interesting campaign, good picturing of historical times.
All of the above cover multiple irritating bugs.
But... it still feels more a mod than a full-scale game. Yet again M&B Warband has a bit of that feel too.
