About This Game

In an open sand box world you choose your allies, your enemies, what provinces to conquer, what castles to siege and what quests to embark on. With Fire & Sword builds and expands upon the highly regarded combat system from Mount & Blade: Warband. Firearms have been introduced to the battlefield. Additionally, muskets and pistols can now be used as sidearms in hand-to-hand combat to quickly drop your foes. In addition to the enhanced singleplayer mode, With Fire & Sword also provides a host of original multiplayer content including the new game mode: Captain.

Key Features:

  • A storyline based on the cult novel, "With Fire and Sword", from Nobel-prize winning author Henry Sienkiewicz.
  • A new century of warfare that brings pistols, muskets, grenades, and other advanced weaponry to the battlefield.
  • Fully customizable armies; players can outfit their soldiers with each piece of weaponry & armor.
  • Additional quest types. More political intrigue with colorful factions. More adventure in a new land.
  • Multiple endings to increase re-playability.
  • Deeply researched historical component encompassing every aspect of the game's assets.
  • Ferocious new multiplayer action, bringing players the thrill of pitting old technology against the looming threat of firearms.
  • 3 Main Story-driven quest-lines for the player to delve into once they've become known in a particular faction.
  • Additional quest types.

Very good game but only if you're into this type of games. It's cheap ♥♥♥ hell both on sale and off sale, right now it's like $1,24 which is a focking joke, even soda pop costs more than this gem. And I'd tell you that it is defintely worth even $20. But enough about it's value. Game has a lot of content as for such game, entertainment is almost endless, for example I've never finished any of main quests but still enjoyed it tremendously. I spend few hundred hours (off Steam) with this and never got bored. I would recommend it especially for people that aren't familiar with XVth, XVIth and XVIIth century Poland, Ukraine, Russia and Crimea - it's a great way to learn more about our culture and history. It might somehow clarify, for not acknowledged, why Crimean Crisis occured, what's going on in the Ukraine and why are these countries so important in present day world.

Graphics - even though I've taken under consideration the fact that is outdated, it still sucked for its times: 4/10 (doesn't matter much if you enjoy the game itself)
Music - stays in the climate of those times and those places: 9/10
Content - enough for such game: 7/10
Gameplay - many times I've had batter things to do (like study to not be a ♥♥♥♥ing failure) but I rather played F&S: 9/10 [disclaimer: difficult to stop playing once you get into it]

Dude just focking play it, it's 1.24 for focks sake

This game walks the fine line between "It should have been a dlc" and "It was too big for a dlc" I tend to believe in the first option but it doesn't mean I don't consider the second. If you want to see the evolution of sword combat into pike and shot then download mods like Sayazn or Nova Aetas for mount and blade warband. If you want to play in western russia then good for you. YEs! this game has everything that made Warband great plus early era guns and cannons! i put off playing it for a while, because i was worried the guns would be too overpowered and sometimes they can be. you can be mid to late game and be a super high level with tons of health and armor and get murdered by a couple stray bullets, but it's not something that's going to happen a lot. especially if you play smart. i think this game requires much more strategy than Warband. in warband, by the time i've level 40 or so, i can wade into a battle and kill 20-50 people on my own and it's much harder to do that in this one because of how much damage guns can do. you also tend to have more casualties during battle and numbers tend to matter more. it's like they took all the good parts about warband and added to it. more quests, a new world, new factions, more and different weapons (including primitive grenades). beyond all that, the various factions have their own storylines which i did not need, but kind of love. playing as the polish will have some different quests from the swedish which are different from the russians which is different from the crimeans. the addition of the story elements add some believability to the various relations between the factions because you learn why they like the factions they like and hate the factions they hate.
if you played warband and like it, you'll most likely enjoy this game too. if you haven't played warband, i recommend getting the mount and blade full collection and playing warband first, then coming to this, because there are some major differences in gameplay. i assure you the addition of guns and bombs adds much more depth and strategy to this game than warband had to it. that's not to say warband was bad or too easy, just that guns make it easier to kill than swords. which we all already knew anyway.

Good game but it's really meant for big M&B fans (Like me). Guns seem OP and there are many types of bandits that will try to kill you or capture you. Other than that if you're a big fan of the series its a must try. I recommend you get it on sale.

My god, This game. I cant belive that i missed it when it was released, this game is just pure greatness. I think this is the best mount and blade in the series. Its kinda similar to the last game , Mount and blade : warband, but new addition is improved graphics and Guns. Guns add loads of fun. The combat in this game is best i have ever met, you fire your inaccurate musket or bow from range, and on close combat you try to hit enemy with your sword, and block enemys attacks, if you master the timing, you can easily take down large group of enemies
In singleplayer, you start as a little poor villager, you can Travel around the map, Take quests , trade ,rob caravans, besiege castles and all kind of things. When you start to Get some money and experience , you will start to Get better gear and armor, and buy more army to you. You can ally with factions and conquer the other factions. Its awesome when at start you rob small bandit groups with your Little army of mens recruited from villages, and after some time, you have army of 100 of mens, and you Attack an enemy faction castle along with your Friendly Armies. Singleplayer is like big sandbox, you can just be trader and make loads of profits, you can be bandit and rob caravans, you can create your own faction and conquer lands, or ally with other factions and eliminate others. You can get hours and hours and hours of fun.
This game also has really entertaining multiplayer, first you create the way your multiplayer character looks like, then you hop in the battle. Usually there are about 50 players in same match, other team is defending castle and other is attacking it. You can buy eguiment like better armor with gold, you get more gold when you get kills. There are also classical deathmatch , battle and other game modes. I just love the multiplayer, just the feel is awesome, when musketeers fire their muskets and trowh grenades and trought the smoke charges cavalry who tries to stab foot soldiers, and as the armies meet begins hectic sword play.
Also , this game has really active mod community

I Cant recommend this game enough, get it .. now
