Great good fun. A bitof a rough start but bloody good fun once you get the hang of it. If you are gonna get this i would say find the cheats list because that lets you get into the big battles quiker. My new favorite thing to do, ( there is a growing list) is run footmen down with couched lance. The soft thwak and the groan as they die whilst i ride past at speed is glorious.

Really fun game. It starts off hard with very low level troops but once you level up make money and upgrade troops it will be easy to take towns and villages. It is also easy to make a come back from this game. If you lose once battle and lose all your troops you can easily make a new army and start fighting again. Also choose marnid as a follower he is literly a saviour if you are fighting large battles and Borcha he is good at path finding which is very important in the game. Havnt tried mods in this game becuase I am still captivated by the default game.

Here's a summary of the gameplay:
Quests from lords:
Wait as you ride monotonously halfway across the map to kill a fugitive, ride around town in circles until you find him, stab him, go on a wild goose-chase to find the lord who issued quest for the reward
Wait as you ride monotonously halfway across the map to tax a town, wait monotonously for taxes to accumulate, go on a wild goose-chase to find the lord who issued quest for the reward
Be told to deliver a letter to another lord, spend 10 bored minutes finding lord, spend 10 bored minutes to find the lord who issued the quest for the reward
Be given peasants to train, wait forever for them to train, return them to lord

Quests from villages:
Go buy grain, return grain to town for no reward
Go buy cattle, return cattle to town for no reward,
Train peasant (the weakest unit in the game) by smacking him with a stick, wait 10-20 seconds for another peasant to be ready to get smacked with a stick and smack him, rinse-repeat 4-8 times

Battles (VERY ADVANCED BATTLE STRATEGY...):
Order troops to shoot at enemy troops who charge at you in a ball with little to no AI
Watch half of enemy troops die from being shot
Order men to charge, killing other half
Rinse and repeat for every battle small or large, whether against bandits or lords, repeat for 100+ hours to eventually win the game

GG GREAT GAME

M&B Warband is like a woman with the ugliest face you have ever seen...
But if you look closely she has the body of a goddess. And if you spend some time with her you start to dont even notice how ugly she actually is.

Seems like it has been 3 years since I reviewed this game... Now I have got 2000+ hours in the game (and counting) And I can truly say I have played this game to pieces, not only have I became a melee "god" I have also acomplished many things within the community... Things include:

-Lead a succesful 90 man regiment
-Finish 4th in a regimental based tournament
-Taught English to many of my friends I have met along my journeys
-Participated in many melee tournaments and finished high-up

If you are looking for a game; to play singleplayer, this is your game.
If you are looking for a game; to play multiplayer, then you must consider a lot of things. Playing the multiplayer to join in public servers is a waste of time unless you are trying to get good at melee. Joining a clan is certainly the best option you could take, although I would reccommend the Napoleonic Wars DLC for that. The reason why I would ensure this is because you meet lots of people and take part in lots of community hosted events.

Ultimately, there is a lot to achieve in this game if you are willing to give it a go and the time that it deserves and needs.

10/10, seriously best game going around right now.

King Harlaus has gotten his ♥♥♥♥ing ♥♥♥ kicked at the Battle of Uxkhal by a bunch of ♥♥♥♥ ant Rhodok barbarians fighting with nothing but sticks, long loaves of bread, and their own ♥♥♥♥.

After fleeing Vyincourd like the inbred cowardly ♥♥♥♥♥♥ that he is, Harlaus then got his ♥♥♥♥ kicked in by King Graveth. The engagement lasted approvimately thirteen seconds and resulted in the entire collapse of the Swadian economy and the complete annihilation of its armed forces.

Reportedly, Harlaus made the classical strategic mistake of not doing a single intelligent thing and instead chose to take his entire cavalry force away from the battle to steal a few cooking pans from the Rhodoks camp while King Graveth tore his army apart. After witnessing his entire infantry and crossbowmen killed by a bunch of mountain savages in the middle of bum♥♥♥♥ nowhere, Harlaus ♥♥♥♥ his pants and fled the battlefield like a little girl.

This game completely ruined my life at one point. I was constnatly berated for having no social life, on edge because my castles were being attached by filthy communists and my troops kept dying in battle because they kept walking into each other like a massive cluster♥♥♥♥. I lost many valuble hours of sleep and at one point I began to develop a existential crisis and start to question my life. I would completely recommend this experience to anybody.

What are you waiting for? The game is not gonna buy itself! If you haven't played it yet you should definitely give it a try as it has one of the best combat systems in the gameworld and one of the most sophisticated multiplayers as well. If you haven't seen one naked guy wielding a sword winning against ten foes because of skill so far, then you are going to see it in this game as skill is everyhting needed to success, regardless of your equipment.

I can safely say at 1,000 hours that this game is for any medieval fan. This game may look tacky considering people's standards have risen... However, if you love a challenge and medieval combat, this game will take over your life. I strongly suggest going on duel servers online if you wish to embark on big events or mods. If you are slowly getting bored of the single player or online sieges/battles, i strongly suggest the Persistent World mod. Just make sure you are good atcombat and you should do just fine.
