About This Game

In a land torn asunder by incessant warfare, it is time to assemble your own band of hardened warriors and enter the fray. Lead your men into battle, expand your realm, and claim the ultimate prize: the throne of Calradia!
Mount & Blade: Warband is the eagerly anticipated stand alone expansion pack for the game that brought medieval battlefields to life with its realistic mounted combat and detailed fighting system.
  • Graphical overhaul: Support added for HDR, FSAA, depth of field, soft particles, tone mapping, and many other effects
  • New models with greater detail and high-quality textures
  • Multiplayer battles with up to 64 players. Multiplayer modes include Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Conquest, Battle, and Siege
  • A campaign allowing you to become the ruler of a faction and convince lords to become your vassals
  • The ability to upgrade your companions to vassals by granting them lands
  • The ability to marry a lady of the realm for romance or cold political gain. Try to win a lady’s heart through poetry or bravery
  • Improved mechanics for soldier morale: Soldiers will break and run away if their morale gets too low
  • Pick any projectile off the battlefield for use as additional munitions
  • New motion-captured combat animations
  • Numerous improvements to the combat system: Your shield will still stop arrows even if you are not actively defending
  • The ability to play multiplayer matches on random maps as well as hand-designed ones
  • Multiplayer equipment system: Earn money by fighting opponents or accomplishing goals
  • The ability to use most throwing weapons in close combat: Switch to using a javelin as a short spear when the enemy gets close
  • Spend gold on more powerful equipment, using a carefully balanced system that will make combat more exciting without giving too much of an advantage to the leading team

as i get closer and closer to 3000 hours i have realised that buying this game was a mistake, I havent talked to my friends in over a year, my younger siblings are moving out of the house and i hardly move outside of my room and my father doesn't look at me. Apart from that it has good face customiser and a decent substitute for a real life with a very mature online community 6/10.

Mount & Blade is an awesome Middle Age based RolePlay Game which has an awesome Singleplayer where you can spend hundreds of hours, if you don't like to be alone anymore you can also play Multiplayer with many different Modes!
What? You don't like the Middle Age... no problem, you can buy DLC's and switch to the time of Vikings or even to the Napoleonic Wars. However if you like cool RP this Game is made for you ;)

Graphics: 7/10 (It's a bit old though)

Gameplay: 9/10

Story and Quests: 8/10

Multiplayer: 8/10

Hope this little Review was helpful! :)

Mount and Blade Warband.... Where to start? The multiplayer is a massive bundle of fun with tons of weapons and armours making the game quite entertaining. The singleplayer is a unique singleplayer that has a relation system aswell as an overhead map for easier access, each faction with there own individual troop tree and random traits that the lords or ladies may have. The singleplayer is almost unprediactable with battles turning upside with the death of a handful of troops or being indicted for treason. The mods that have been released for this game give it an edge that makes you keep coming back for more. 10/10 My favourite game :)

We have a tremendous problem with radical Khergits, a tremendous problem. We're being stupid and letting them in past our borders, our borders don't exist. You don't have a country without borders, people, believe me. The Rhodoks, Nords and Vaegirs are taking our jobs, they're beating us at the border and frankly I am so sick of it. The Khergits and the Sarranids, they're lopping off heads while we're feasting on butter, they're laughing at us. They think we are so stupid, it's incredible. Our allies have been ripping us off big league, when I'm King I will renegotiate our trade deals and put Swadia first. I will build the wall and people can come into the country and out of the country, but they're gonna be doing it legally.

We're gonna make Swadia great and safe again.

It's a good game that's pretty fun, but I won't waste time saying whats good, but instead about the bad points which may drive you away.

The AI is almost on something like Digital Homicide level. It has troubles doing almost anything on it's own, with a lot of trouble from navigating simple terrain. Though I do have to say it is 100X better then the first game, as in the original the AI couldn't even navigate most castles. While this can be ignroed mostly, it will cause a little anger towards those moments when a unit could have secured victory but failed to do the simplest task.

-Play trackng.
Maybe I'm just paranoid, but it seems the AI tracks the player. When in the arena, I've noticed groups of enemies breaking off from a fight just to follow me, getting up to 4+ people attacking me at once. And it doesn't seem to be based off of any in-game factors, as from start to finish it seems to remain the same. This can make combat extremely difficult for the player, as it is hard to fight off multiple troops when they are set on killing you alone.

-Feels unfinished.
Many aspects of the game feel like they were being created, but ceased so the game could release. While it isn't too big a problem, you will clearly see some things that should have been worked on.

-Forced opening quest.
Unlike the original where you start off by a training field, you are forced to kill a bandit and meet the merchant. While it isn't technically forced, the merchant will remain there untill you help him. And the annoying thing is that you must do it each and every new game.

-Should have been the original.
Simply put, this amount of work should have been put into the original. This feels like the improvements they should have made to the original as it went on. It's kind of like an aplha game, except they made improvements and sold it as a serperate game. The only real reason to buy the original would be to play some older mods, which are mostly ported to Warband now. Other then that, it's a buggy mess which shouldn't have been abandoned.

-Nothing is hardly explained.
There are many features that are never explained in the game. Just recently, around 500 hours in, I discovered that retiring actually gave a score and ending story for your charecter. There are also many other things I'm guessing I don't know, which can be a fault ofthe game trying to keep to much information for you to learn.

Overall it is a good game, but it isn't the best out there. The original Mount and Blade was like the 20-30% completion mark, with this being the 30-50% mark. I'm hoping bannerlord will be a more complete game, as it seems the games have each been a stepping stone to a final, bigger, product.

This will end the review, thanks for reading.
