Breaking News: Anno 2070 Trading Cards discovered in time capsule from the future!

S.A.A.T. scientists have been left scratching their heads after the unearthing of a mysterious object at a Global Trust mining site near Jorgensen Plateau.

The discovered metal capsule is emblazoned with an image of the Moon and the number “2205” - prompting speculation about its origin “from the future”, to quote Dr. Wallace Breen, administrator of the operation. Inside, a set of impressive paintings was found, depicting everyday life scenes and vehicles of the year 2070.

Message and purpose of this baffling find remain a mystery so far. We contacted S.A.A.T. director Dr. Salman Devi for comment and invite our readers to enjoy reproductions of these mysterious pictures we have prepared as Anno 2070 Trading Cards.

Beautiful and fun game for these type of games. Very well done interface outside of actual game as well with the factions, faction reputation, events, global voting events to 'elect' officials that boost different stats every week or so. I was, and still am, very impressed with this emmersion.

Unfortunatley, its really no longer maintained well by Ubisoft. World events are, as of this posting, no longer going on (and you pay for these as part of game and DLC). Tremendous problems with their third party DRM ( in the multiple years ive owned this I have had no less than 5 issues that were gamebreaking that had to be resolved and hindered playability). And since updated Uplay workings (around Sept 2015) I have had problems saving the game. It was working fine and then this happened - not sure 100% if it a causation effect or just a correlation. This is not a game were you finish too many levels in one sitting hence it has made the game all but unplayable for me.

As a game - I highly reccommend it. I very much enjoyed so many aspects. However...
The condition of the game, and how it simply just doesnt work well these days - I would not reccommend you buying.
Hope this helps a bit in your choice to buy or not!

I bought this game when it went on sale last Christmas, I'm just glad I only wasted less than 20 dollars on it. Do not waste your own money on this game. The "U-Play" totally ruined it. There is nothing worse than developers who put games on Steam that make you have to then join ANOTHER social network just to play them It's extremely annoying and pretentious. I don't give a crap about rankings, sharing my game progress, finding opponents to play against, Playing online with other people or the "Lastest exciting news", which is just pile of steaming DRM hooks. I just want to play may games solo in peace, and without having to jump through hoops of fire everytime i click the startup icon.

FIXING UPLAY:

UPVOTE THIS SO EVERYONE KNOWS

The reason Uplay crashes when you try to launch from Steam is because Uplay does not install properly when the install is queued/prompted by Steam itself.

INSTEAD, download and install the standalone Uplay launcher.

THEN, run the new standalone Uplay install and log in with your account.

NOW, you can launch the game from steam as usual as long as Uplay is running and you are logged in.

I have yet to play the game, but I'd like to warn people about the absolutely horrific way this is setup.
Install the game. Enter 'CD-key'.
Install Uplay. Enter 'CD-key'
Close Uplay.
Start the game (you think)
Combine steam with uplay account.
Restart Uplay.
Start the game.
Combine Uplay with game and ofc enter 'CD-key'.
Reboot the game.
Update the game.

Aaand that's what I'm still waiting for. This has got to be the most idiotic installation procedure I have yet to see on Steam. Uplay to begin with is horrible, but there has to be a simpler way (for the user) to actually install and play a game.
