Breaking News: Anno 2070 Trading Cards discovered in time capsule from the future!

S.A.A.T. scientists have been left scratching their heads after the unearthing of a mysterious object at a Global Trust mining site near Jorgensen Plateau.

The discovered metal capsule is emblazoned with an image of the Moon and the number “2205” - prompting speculation about its origin “from the future”, to quote Dr. Wallace Breen, administrator of the operation. Inside, a set of impressive paintings was found, depicting everyday life scenes and vehicles of the year 2070.

Message and purpose of this baffling find remain a mystery so far. We contacted S.A.A.T. director Dr. Salman Devi for comment and invite our readers to enjoy reproductions of these mysterious pictures we have prepared as Anno 2070 Trading Cards.

Seems pretty cool so far; well made. In regards to the key issue other reviewers mentioned, I ran into it as well (I am a new user) briefly. I almost asked for a refund but decided to try and boot the game a second time. Not sure why it worked, but it worked. This was 5-10 minutes after downloading.

Great building game. Complex enough to be challenging, no / minimal micromanagement, sandbox play, get it.

Con
Uplay. I didn't know abut that abomination when I got the game on the sale. It really is terrible, slow, annoying and one more unnecessary registration and account to have. I have no idea why Ubisoft trolls us, paying customers.

Pretty please Ubisoft, remove that thing.

Damn Piece of ♥♥♥♥ login. I had to wait for install for 15 minutes, then to be asked to create an account when you can just use my steam account info instead. How many times are you going to verify me and the game. geez!!!

With regards to the negative comments, I have to say that as of the posting of this review, I have not experienced any flaws on behalf of either side (Valve or Ubisoft) in terms of both the game itself, or 3rd party sites (like Uplay). The game itself is a lot of fun to play, and well optimized for PC systems. The graphic qualities and option of both continous free-play and linear story grasp my attention in a very positive manner. Therefore I highly recommend this game. I hope this review was of any help to the fellow gaming enthusiast looking into buying this game for themselves.

Use to love this game before my key became inactive and the two replacements they sent me won't work. I will never buy an Ubisoft game again....

Don't get me wrong; Anno 2070 is an amazing game, and I've loved every hour I've put into it. But UPlay has made it completely unplayable. IF you could actually play the game, this review would be as positive as they come. But this is the third not-working key Ubisoft has sent me to try to make their game even so much as play, and I don't want anyone else to fall into the trap that is their "customer service".

Bought this game a year or two ago, while its a fun game it runs into some Ubisoft issues from what I know.
My key is inactive like so many others by the looks, making it impossible to play the game.
End of story is don't risk it.

I played about 43 hours of this game a year or two ago. Then today I felt nostalgic and wanted to play it again because I was feeling a bit city builder ish. I go through the install process then the Ubisoft login appears. I don't remember my PW or username; I'm sure I can just find it by doing a forget yada yada but I am already logged in on Steam, why do I need a Ubisoft account again? I don't recommend this game based on the sheer stupidity of Ubisoft's absolute need for DRM.

Bought game in Summer Sale (July) 2016. Game installed but would not let me play. Ran in background and chewed through play time. Writing this review just shy of my 120 minutes of trying to get it to run, and then getting refund. Tis a shame: seemed like such a sweet deal...

I enjoyed this game in Singleplayer. No complaints.
Then I convinced a friend to buy this game during the Summer Sale so that we can play it together. Well but other than you would expect it from a game that was released after the 1990s you just can't invite a friend and play together like in every ♥♥♥♥♥ single other game i have in my libary - that would be to damn easy for ubisoft.
You have to go through some router and firewall config to get this game working in mp. The webside that explains you how this works only shows that with a fitz-box. "What you have another router?" "Well have fun finding that ♥♥♥♥ out on your own, ♥♥♥♥♥♥!". The pictures that show you how to do it with the fritz-box are outdated as well and you cant see them either. Well Ubi doesnt seem to care enough for their community to keep a freaking picture online.
'Cause one Middlefinger in our face isnt enough for them.
Well here is my answer for that: Don't buy this game

I love the game (concept of it).

(spoiler ahead!)
Pirate it if you can, because DRM is cancer; its even worse its a desease which laughs at you, when you play.
So back to the topic did I mention that: "The Ubisoft ♥♥♥♥ is really annoying."?

I have setteled to just watch youtubers how they play instead of me, I've seen countles of youtube content about this game. just watch and eat popcorn.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

DRM is a blight to the industry and all I hear from the devs or publishers is all the whining about pirates stealing the game (which is all propaganda) and I'm NOT sorry to say that any game that uses DRM pretty much won't get a sell out of me (excluding this one, of course). I tried to give drm a try, you know give the dev/pub a shot but it is too ridiculous. As a steam client I should not have to deal with this. The Whole selling point of steam is to put all your games in a convenient library only to have to agree AND sign in elsewhere and pass those hurddles... ugh. PASS! And now unfortunately this game just sits in my library and does nothing. Well, actually thats not true... it stands as a reminder to never buy anything from this dev/ publisher again. Because you know, there is always another dev or publisher to take their place.

Graphics - 8/10

Story - 9/10

Gameplay - 9/10

subtract 10 for DRM

Final Score - 0/10
