What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We think that the Early Access is a fantastic way to polish and improve our game. We believe that the community’s feedback will help us making the game better. Their opinion is very important to us.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We don't exactly know how long it will be in Early Access. However, we do know that we are very close to releasing the game with 8 levels completed as a starter.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version is more like an extended demo. It has everything the full game has but only limited to a certain amount of levels until we work out the bugs and polish them off. The full game will have online multiplayer options which we are very interested in seeing how it works out for the players. The full game will also have unlocable achievements included.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently we are very close to finishing and releasing Mini Thief. We estimate a few months away from releasing the first 10 levels of the game.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price may be slightly higher than we had before but not by much. We promised that we would keep the full game reasonably cheap which we are going to keep.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Obtaining community feedback is important to us because this is what creates the game to be fun for all the players.”

Yeah, it's a good game. Is it fun? Yeah, it's fun. Do you care what I think? No. Does that make this review meaningless? Maybe. However, if you don't enjoy stealing things you have bigger problems than this review and no game will help.

Meh. Only get it on sale though. Haven't played in a while, but from what I played I wouldn't say it's worth $4.

Mini Thief is a game about a man with a problem that everyone have nowadays: Money. But, he isn't doing this like most people in the world. He steals it. From house to bank: he is the man!

Pro's:

- Only 7MB
- Achievements
- You can challenge eachother by robbing eachothers house
- Alot security which can be disabled/distract by buying tools in the Pawn Shop!

Cons:

- [MY OPINION] It's annoying that you lose all your tools and money once you get caught
- The controls aren't really well explained

Conclusion:

I hope you got your robbing gear because it's time to rob some houses! I highly recommend you this game if you like Strategy games! My compliments to the Pixel Artist (for making the beautiful textures) and the Developer for making it run so incredibly smooth! I hope more games are coming soon!

Great game! I know it is in early access so there isn't much in the game, but it seems to be on the right track. A few suggestions I have are to make the levels different. So make different apartment levels instead of reskinning the one level, and make the different levels appear randomly. Make a way to break the line of sight. Add some more interaction with levels. Add a skill tree that maybe affects how good you are at sneaking/lockpicking/searching. Maybe if you have a low searching level searching for valuables makes a lot of noise. Create a mechanic so players can throw items they bought from the pawn shop or just items from around the map to distract the guards/owners. Maybe make the penalty for gettting caught less serious. These are just some stupid suggestions I am throwing out there. I honestly don't have many bad things to say about the game except for the repetitiveness.

I think this game has potential, but I also thing putting this into early access was a mistake. It's waaaaay to early and currently lacks content and fun. Anyway I'd like to encourage the dev(s)!

I love the hat-tips to MGS for inspiration (Question marks over heads, exclaimation points, cardboard box).

This game makes me sweat. You lose everything when you get busted, so each break in is more stressful and tense than the last. Mechanics are solid and the different locations make you rethink your strategy. I case the place on the first run and duck out as soon as the owner gets home, make a plan, and go back equipped and clean him out.

Owners are kinda stupid, but the game is pretty hard as it is so maybe smarter owners isn't what I really want.

Good stuff - reccomended.

A bit easy and repetitive in its current state, but it's still pretty fun for the price, and with new updates releasing more levels and with multiplayer being worked on it's definitely something to keep your eye on!

Right now it's basically hit the same house a few times, buy the tools you need, cut wires, ignore cameras, and lay a decoy when you're discovered, but I could see the developer putting in a lot of more situational tools and complicating the levels quite a bit to enforce some more strategy (multiple patrolling NPCs, different floors to a level, EMPs to temporarily disrupt electronics, ear piece to indicate when the owner is coming back, etc) but it's still fun for the price, and I'm looking forward to what it brings in future updates!

Mini Thief Review

The good thing is, the game has enormous potential.
Why do I say that?

Well, I'm glad you probably didn't ask, here are all the things that make the game POTENTIALLY one of the best stealth games on Steam:

  • Online Multiplayer - Owner vs Player (Which is coming up in a couple of months.)
  • Coop Mode - CPU Owner vs A Group of Crooked Thieves
  • Enormous Maps - HQs of rich buisness companies and such
  • Strategic Points and Careful Planning - Getting to know what you're going against is a good idea, don't you think?
  • More Tools - A lot... lot... lot of tools to use in your attempt to become the meanest ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in Thieville
  • Player-Made Maps* - Steam Workshop all day long baby.
  • And much, much more...

Note that I'm not paid by anyone guys. I'm serious.

* Highly insecurity of it coming

Well that's it folks, buy the damn game.

Edit
The developers are really giving 105% of them in the progress of the game. Really. They listen to all of our concerns, notes and they just cherish us.
If that's not enough to trust them, I don't know what is.

Great game! If you're a fan of The Escapists, you'll like this one. A great amount of potential in this title. The multiplayer hopefully will be a reminiscent view of the Spy vs Spy games. Overall 10/10, looking forward to the progression. Price point is... On point.
