It may not be the best game ever, but if you don't have a good enough PC to run Project Cars, this may be a decent alternative. There are quite many cars from various time periods, a wide selection of tracks, and the career mode has a decent length. The drifting in this game is quite challenging, but also very satisfying once you get a hang of it.
In my opinion it plays well with the X360 controller.

Bumper to bumper fun. I have played a lot of GRID Autosport recently with a wheel controller which just extends the fun of racing games.

I grew up playing Screamer and NFS etc so I like a balance of arcade and Sim driving.
This is more of a Sim than Autosport, although took a lot of tweaking of the wheel settings to make playable.
The driving feel is less drift like and more about how accureately you take the bends.

I drive with all assists off, thats ABS, Traction control, Steering Assist, Stability Control and Brake Assist.
The feeling in the wheel is much more real than Grid series games. The control in the grid series is a bit more fun as the cars are all tail happy, but I am starting to take wheel based racing a bit more seriously.

Nethertheless It has provided hours of fun with the Driving force GT controller. It is one of the top PC racers I have played to date, with some great cars, graphics and sounds that match.

Handling and interaction with the cars is varied, although can be a bit vague at times.

+ Great Selection of Cars
+ Great driving feel
+ Great visuals, as expected from NFS games
+ Great Sound, Vibration through the wheel and good graphics
+ Cheap to buy if you can't afford project cars (Made by the same studio)

-Great cockpit view, headcam is great.
-AI is reaasonably intellegent, there is a less contact in this, although the black and white vision when crashing can be annoying
-Crap Menus and annoying voice announcer, found a way to mute luckily

Now to improve my cornering skills!

Whether you're a casual automotive enthusiast or a die-hard gearhead, you need to experience Shift 2 Unleashed yourself. Despite the ever-changing universe of the Racing Simulation genre, the now-"dated" Shift 2 Unleashed still manages to hold its own. Fantastic graphics and detail on even the smallest design flourishes of the automobile are flanked by locations rendered in breathtaking accuracy. I actually tone down the graphics detail so that my computer can run it more smoothly, and it still never fails to impress. The smooth curves of a European exotic or the broadshouldered sheetmetal of American muscle are simply beautiful. From the stellar vehicle physics to the oh-so-cool Helmet View (simulating head toss, automatic look-to-the-apex, and G-Force vision blur) this game offers a great outlet to do exactly what racing games were always meant to do: access cars you could never afford on tracks you could never master, and another reason to Take It Off The Street in real life. Regardless if you're an import tuner, exotic obsesser, or a Yankee Hot Rodder like myself, there's something for everyone in this game. So before dropping a stack of cash on the newest Forza title, this humble yesteryear runnerup is worth a look. Smoke 'em if you got 'em.
