I love the Sims and Sims 3 is not an exception. I do not understand the Sim language but who does? The Sims remind me of actual people from all walks of life. It seems so real that I laugh at myself that now everytime I catch the transit bus to work I feel like I am riding in a bus full of Sims just by the way they all act and carry themselves and their dressing attire even compliments this thought even more. Kudos for EA and all you Sims out there that contributed to the games success.

I got The Sims 3 along with the Showtime and Late Night DLC's and I've had nothing but technical issues. Black screen after launching, won't recognize my graphics card (which is compatible; my computer meets all the required specs, first thing I checked), won't read saved game files, won't read/recognize it's own game folder/files and creates completely new ones everytime I try to launch the game..... I have searched the Steam and EA (down for seemingly neverending "maintanence") forums for solutions, and have managed some workarounds. But in the end, once I manage to start a game, I can't shut it down or I lose everything that I've done because the game rewrites the file folders everytime I launch.

I've spent more time just trying to get the game to work right than I have actually playing, and unless that changes, I'm saying save yourself a headache and skip this game.

>> Sort of an update: I decided to try installing the game on the old standard desktop we use for streaming Tv and movies, and the game runs just fine, albeit a bit slow and laggy, but none of the issues that have plagued running the game on my newer gaming laptop have happened. Aye yi yi

>>>> FINAL UPDATE: I'm now playing The Sims 3 and DLC's I purchased on Steam on Origin instead and have not had ANY of the issues I experienced trying to play on my main gaming laptop. ** For anyone else who's had similar issues and has tried everything suggested in forums, simply create an Origin account and redeem your game/DLC keys then download and install to play. **

While I do thoroughly enjoy playing The Sims, I'm going to keep this review as a thumbs down simply because of the issues I had trying to run it through Steam.

if you're going to spend $20 on a sims 3 dlc (for god knows what reason - you could buy an actual game with $20), then definitely get this one. late night gives you a new town, new clothes, new careers, and it has the celebrity stars function (even though it might get on your nerves sometimes since you can't be a criminal if you're a celebrity).
i was a little nervous about buying dlc at first because i thought that it won't be all of what i expected, but late night definitely delivered, and it's actually my favorite dlc out of all the ones sims 3 has out.

This Review is not just about this really good expansion pack, but rather a complaint about how stupid people are and how quick to judge on a good peice of software, How there saying "It wont install properly" and "just shows University Life On the load screen". Well i had that problem, all it says is Into The Future (the first pack i bought) and Frankly, I dont care if it says Into The Future when it should Say Island Paradise (the lastest pack i got at time of writing).

Let me tell you something, I love what this EP offers, the clothes, the smexy vampire ladies :3, the furniture, the apartment system, but I don't like the provided town (Bridgeport) for pretty much only one reason. It doesen't work on my PC for more than 30 Minutes, before it crashes. My PC Meets & Exceeds the requirements (as with Island Paradise, which I reviewed also) but I don't know why it does not work properly...

MY FINAL SCORE FOR THE SIMS 3: LATE NIGHT IS... 69% (This is a serious review, don't laugh at the fact that I gave this a 69%, come on people, be more mature.)

Adds a very nice city with new clubs and bars it adds new insturments and the ability to form bands.
Gives you apartments and a celebrity system with somewhat annoying paparazzi.

Oh and Skinny Dipping.

If you're wondering about buying ANY expansions, I would recommend this whole-heartedly. Almost everything is a great edition to the game- a city, and a lot of new items for your sims as well as your home, which can now be an apartment. There is a new career option that is WAY better than the "singer" career in Showtime. If you want a more urban lifestyle for your sims, get this!!!

The definitive expansion for city slickers, clubbers and people who live for the night life.

-Vampires.
-Three new intrument types with their own skills and the ability to form bands and play gigs with other sims.
-Lots of new lot types, mostly bars.
-A new large, bustling city.
-Celebrity system, have your sims stalk famous people and try to get into the "in" crowd. Once famous, your sim will be stalked relentlessly by the paparazzi, how much depends on how famous they are. This can (and will) get annoying after a while, thankfully you can disable the celeb system in options.

NOT worth $20! Wait for it to go on sale before you buy.
