The DLC pricing is bad enough to warrant a bad rating from me, but even taking that out of consideration, it gets pretty boring after playing for a few hours. 5/10 would not recommend.

EA is the is screwing over players and supporters of their franchise by charging $20 for each DLC pack. So if you want the "full game" with all DLC be prepared to fork up $400. This is a complete rip off! Damn you EA!!!

Right so everybody has heard of The Sims series and how EA shut down Maxis. This is tragic but The Sims 3 goes it is a very good game. Although it is only playable in short bursts like a week at a time I enjoy my time playing it. As far as the price goes, it's hard to say. $20 doesn't seem like much and one of the expansions is $10 more if it is a plus edition. I bought sims plus pets on sale.

All the other DLCS are hard to grade. I only have a few but the extra skins and furniture is not worth $20. I also have seasons and supernatural and those again are hard to grade.

Be smart and read the reviews of which ones are good and which are just cometic, and of corse which ones actually work.

I am done supporting this greedy company.
Reasonable Price:
Sims 3 vanilla $5
Sims 3 with all DLC bundle $60

Actual Price:
Sims 3 Vanilla $20
Sims 3 all DLC roughly $400
wtf is this?

Delete Micro payment option or give players at least the option to unlock new stuff by completing challenges.

This is a classic act of the Canadian Devil (south park reverence)

Still pretty good game but, too many high priced DLC's that offer too little. And this game crashes more than what skyrim was known for.

Sorry, I can not recommend this game at all.

I paid full retail price for it during release, if you play the game now you'll find 80% of the in-game contents are locked by more DLCs you need to buy... This is downright unacceptable. Please do not support greedy developers/publishers like EA.

EA ****ing ruins everything they touch.

Having spent more money on this game than any other - indeed somewhere in excess of fourteen times as most of my purchases I'm - disappointed. Firstly it has either not crashed at all or only crashed once on a Windows 10 machine with virtually every extra installed (I went for it in last Steam sale). But...

1) The towns now feel completely depopulated. Particularly difficult in the nightlife city where every second NPC is a celeb and your interactions are limited with them. Neighbours just don't run or pass by as much, colleagues from work don't come home, and the time clock moves so quickly that you can rarely interact with anyone long enough to have an impact.
2) The moving to real time now messes badly with character development. In Sims 2 when you left your house time effectively froze so when you came back it was the same time you left, no matter how long you were away. This enabled you to have 30 - 40 hours in a day - and far easier to get stuff done. Here it is real time throughout - but punitively slow. Showering, going to the toilet, and cooking and eating some waffles now takes two hours. There simply aren't enough hours in the day - even with shortened work hours.
3) Building anything is a complete pain in the butt. In the Sims 2 you'd simply select a lot and then place the pre made building there. Having a task for my Sim to go to a bar and there not being a bar in my Sim's world (and they can no longer transfer - major downer) I tried to build one. And tried. And tried. Even after searching the internet I was no wiser.
4) Everything is very expensive. You have to rise high in your career before you can do much more than cover your taxes.
5) Loading is even more ponderous than Sims 2 although the spot an object game (flawed) helps the time pass.
6) After spending a LARGE amount of money on the game it was disappointing to see so many items still shut off behind a Pay Wall.

This is not a bad game. More hours in I might appreciate it more. But it is A game, no matter how thinly E.A. slice it. At 75% off in the sale I spent more on Sims 3 than a brand new AAA game. And it's not as good as Skyrim which I bought for £5.00. Few games are but still - E.A. charge VERY HEAVILY INDEED for this game. For the money they are taking this should be an unalloyed joy... and it isn't.

E.A. seem far more focussed on gouging ever more cash from their customers than giving them great gaming experiences. After this I wouldn't buy Sims 4 at 90% off.

S.x.

Expanisons

Expanisons packs are alot like trick or treating you don't know what your gonna get until you open the bag and see the goodies. As much as I like the realistic feeling to the Sims 3, the Supernatural expanison kind of defeat the point of the realism but then again I can't complain to much after all it my favourtie expanison. University Life I have yet to play it out maybe cause I have my Sims on epic lifespans, again for the realistic point of view. Into the Future as much as I thought that would be a cool experience to explore. But that all went away quickly due to the insufferable loading screen, everything else is instant load for me, but Into the Future has decided to revolt against me, so disappointing indeed.

Animations

Oh too many to pick from as much as I like the romantic interactions, I guess I gotta to be fair and pick the one I see the most. I just want to say the routing issues such cause when you send your child or teen to school and if their is alot of children and teens. Their will be a virus spreading between then involving then stomping their feet and waving one arm in air while complaining that another sim is blocking their path. Which can be easily solved if you just walk to the other door since they is three doors but sadly nope, they all choose to walk through the one door and doing so a mob of stomping feets and waving their arm in the air until he, she or they can successfully walk in but that takes at least four sim hours, and the time they do walk in school is basically over. So whatever the routing issues suck but their is not much I can do about that.

My Sims

I have a elder, two adults, two teens and nine kids, 11 males and 3 females but who cares about that let get to the good stuff. I have a sim name Ocean and her lifetime wish is to be the master romancer basically what you gotta do is have woohoo ( sex ) with five different sims in five different places. I did started befriending other sims but I haven't seduce any of then yet. Cause it ain't easy, your sims needs get in the way for one and the other reason when you do get in bed with a friend you get all cuddly with him/her and just moments away from actually having sex with then they back out the last second. Lol I don't know what I did wrong it not like our relations with each other are strangers but we're best friends, such a bummer I just want lifetime points that all I ever wanted to begin with xD.

Overall 10/10

It alot like playing with barbie dolls basically but not me I'm a boy I will stick with my amiibos but again I did play barbies back then with my action figures, listerning to barbie girl on the radio xD but I was a hyperactive silly goofball kid :)

I planning on binge playing this all day tomorrow :D

Cannot recommend until there is a known fix for version 0.0.0.0 launcher error, which prevents further download of custom content and expansion registration bonus items.
