Through Need for Speed Autolog and its innovative approach to connected social competition, your Hot Pursuit experience will extend beyond the console onto the web, constantly moving your gameplay in new and unique directions.

Loaded with action, this game will challenge you to become Seacrest County's top cop or most wanted racer. Whether you're a lead-foot speeder or a cop with a mean streak, make sure your aviators are spotless and your driving record is anything but.

Key Features

  • Career – For the first time in Need For Speed history play full careers as both cops and racers. Whether playing online with friends, taking on friends challenges or the single player career, players will earn bounty that levels them up and unlocks new cars, weapons and equipment.
  • Need For Speed™ Autolog – In Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, your friends drive your gameplay experience. Autolog is a system that links friends directly to each other’s games, enabling them to compare and share all their experiences, pictures and challenges. Autolog instinctively delivers challenges based on what your friends have been doing, creating a hugely dynamic, socially competitive experience.
  • Cars –In Hot Pursuit, the cars go from hot to hotter. Experience the thrill of driving the world’s most desirable high performance cars at incredible speeds. Feel the power of busting suspects in supercharged cop interceptors like the Lamborghini Reventon or outsmarting the law as a racer in high performance supercars like the Pagani Zonda Cinque.
  • Weapons and equipment – Take down suspects with a variety of cop weapons like spike strips and call in extra support including road blocks as the chase intensifies. Racers have a range of evasion equipment at their disposal to outsmart the cops including jammers that block cop communications and jam their weapons.
  • Seacrest County – Explore a world inspired by the California coastline with desert, forest, seaside and mountainous regions. The open world of Seacrest County helps deliver the most intense cop pursuit moments ever.

Hot Pursuit is a Need for Speed game in name only. This blisteringly fast racer has more in common with developer Criterion Games' own Burnout series than it does with any previous Need for Speed offering, despite lacking a number of features that are commonly associated with Burnout games. This isn't a game in which you're rewarded for crashing spectacularly or for jumping through billboards, but it is a game that encourages you to drive dangerously and to take down your opponents by any means necessary. The option to play both as illegal racers and as the cops that are chasing them brings some much-needed variety to the action, while spike strips, road blocks, and other satisfying countermeasures ensure that Hot Pursuit doesn't feel quite like any racer that you've played before. Regardless of whether your interest in Hot Pursuit stems from a love of Need for Speed, Burnout, or neither, you won't be disappointed.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit is a really good racing game with great graphics and gameplay. The only flaw is that there is no opportunity to tune your car like in Need for Speed Underground 2.When the online modes work, they really sing, allowing for hours to slip away into tons of entertaining crashes and near-misses. Unfortunately, they can also be extremely broken.Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit is pure over-the-top driving entertainment. The cars and environments are gorgeous, the crashes are spectacular, and the new Autolog feature breathes new life into the time-honored tradition of video game competition among friends.Criterion Games hits the old and trusty NfS-Series with a welcome and refreshing blast from the past. It offers fast and furious oldschool-action, plenty of mileage and an overall good ride. A lack of modes, some rather bland race types, the always present rubberband-A.I. and a lack of challenge bothered me. But overall I liked what Hot Pursuit had to offer. A lot!

Great game, every second of the races are fully action packed and fun. The graphics are amazing for a game made in 2010. I'm very impressed.

I'm not a huge fan of racing games and NFS series in particular, but sometimes I buy such games for casual playing.
Last time I played NFS around 2004, it was pretty arcade, but with lots of carporn (not talking about streetracing crap, just the way cars look), dynamic gameplay and suitable music. I bought this game because I saw it in Steam after seeing a few dozens of positive reviews by series fans who were talking it's the best game in the whole franchise.
What did I get? Disgusting music. Copy-pasted vehicles. Broken game mechanics. This game doesn't fit it's title at all: instead of dynamic races with smart opponents we are getting tons of catch-up, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ opponents who is just cheating all the time (if you are first and driving at 340 kmph it doesn't mean that some random half-broken opponent car can't outrun you, driving at 400 kmhp approximately). Game modes are mostly boring, actual pursuits take 10% of play time, other 90% is boring crap like races against the timer (for cops? really?). 1 cop vs 1 racer (and he will keep driving at impossible speeds easily going through curves without braking) and other kinds of boredom. In-game physics are bad beyond any point, don't even try to bust a racer by braking in front of him, he will just throw you away and won't get any damage), all vehicles have the same handling and differ by top speed and acceleration only (what is most hilarious, some of the cars doesn't have these characteristics in the description, having "classified" instead), it's almost impossible to actually crash (so you can forget about braking before turns). Also, the game is suffering from a major case of being overfilled with different opponent-side cheats, of course I understand that it is made just to made gameplay more interesting for a player, but sometimes it just looks idiotic: you, riding the top exotic car, cannot catch a guy who is driving some box-shaped american piece of metal, and even constant crashes can't keep him from winning.
Another problem is cars. We got used to have dozens of perfect concept cars in every NFS game, but now we are having just a few of them, mixed with dozens of ugly american crap like dodge, chevrolet and other same-looking metal coffins.
And last, but not least, is the gameplay itself. You will not get interesting competitions with different opponents, you will get hundreds of same crappy races on the same highways. By the way, game map seems to be huge, but actually it's pretty small and consists of same highways with different backgrounds. Which are, I must say, very scenic and beautiful, but still not capable of making this game any better.
And a few words about music: I was never a fan of music styles and genres that NFS usually had as a soundtrack, but at least it was very good in pair with gameplay. In this game it's just a dozen of generic tracks from hipster bands you can hear on every generic radiostation.

this is an awesome racing game. we can choose which side we want to play. we can be the racers or the cops. and the cars are so shiny. tried the multiplayer mode and had a fun short session of playing cat and mouse with cars. the soundtracks are epic from 30 seconds to mars, benny benassi, even deadmau5! so.. great graphics,sounds,modes,and.. bought it for $4.99.. it's a steal! 8/10

In my opinion the best of the latest Need for Speed games. It has nice visuals, solid drifting mechanics and also pretty good multiplayer. And also it's nice that it's not capped at 30 fps like the later titles.Of cours like any other game it has it's flaws, there is no campaign at all (other than random racing) and the friend system seems confusing at first (at least for me) and there is not a lot of content other than the cars, all that you can do to them is change their colour. But if you get it for a lower price than i say go for it.It's a pretty good laugh when playing with friends.
