“A monster of a sequel.”
90/100 – Game Informer

About This Game

In Dead Space™ 2, you join Isaac Clarke, the Systems Engineer from Dead Space, as he wakes up three years after the horrific events on the USG Ishimura. The Ishimura was a Planetcracker-class starship besieged by grotesque reanimations of its dead crew, known as “Necromorphs.”

After unearthing a strange artifact known as the Marker, Isaac finds himself on the Sprawl, a giant space station in orbit around Saturn. Unable to remember how he got here and plagued with demented visions of his dead girlfriend Nicole, he must survive another nightmarish outbreak of Necromorphs as he fights his way towards an answer he hopes will end all the chaos.

Key Features:

  • Tear through space with full 360 degree movement.
  • Wield a set of devastating tools to bring the terror to space. Impale Necromorphs into the walls with the Javelin, use improved telekinesis to turn limbs into deadly weapons, plant powerful dismembering trip mines, or create a hull-breach to suck a group of monsters out into space.
  • Fire up Isaac’s suit boosters to rocket around in zero gravity like never before. Explore the depths of the Sprawl and encounter new weightless combat and physics-based puzzles with full 360⁰ movement.

All around fun game. it does trade off some graphic quality(not noticeable) and aditonal animations for some weapons for faster and fluid controls which is pretty nice. Does however include active animations for the characters, along with a bit more expansion to the necromorphs. Compared to the first one, the first one is alot better as it does emphasize that panicking can make things harder when surviving. This Game is more shooter then survival as you can easily aquire strong equipment due to the dlcs being on it early, but even then soon as you get the pulse rifle or other equipment your just good with it can turn relative easy(especially with the new alt fire for pulse rilfe...upgrade that bad boy easy to clear some situations).(SPOILER SENTENCE) The game does get back at you though at then end of the chapter depending on how much time you deal with the ubermorphs and necros, lets say its a run through to the marker that you don't want to be low on if playing on harder game modes. Its straight forward, storyline is pretty good and the start is one that sets you on your guard for the rest of the game. This game still introducing something alot more fun and even throws in a badd ♥♥♥ moments which makes you feel like hots stuff, and small form of comedy if you get through the wall.

In the sequel to Dead Space, Isaac Clarke goes to a haunted house shooting gallery and generally has a good time.

I will be honest and straight-forward. The game is worth it. Immersion, story, scares, it has everything you want in a horror game. Main problem.... I recently beat Hardcore Mode. No Hand Cannon unlock. At all. Apparently the only feasible way to fix this is mod you game or download a save online with it, and let's face it, how many Steam users actually know how to mod without corrupting the game? I fall in this catagory and I have a P.O.S. laptop as it is. So, in short, buy the game, enjoy the story, and don't even worry about hardcore mode....

Shorter, scarier, and far more fun than Dead Space Uno. but when i say scarier, i mean in comparison to the difference between toast and buttered bread - a little beat of heat and time. and Necromorphs.

A huge improvement from its predeccessor, Dead Space 2 proves to be an amazing horror game with tons of jumpscares which leaves the player cautious when walking around the eerie spaceship. The gameplay is really good and the controls are easy to use (Xbox 360 controller). The music that they add during gameplay really adds up to the creepy atmosphere, and it makes it feel like as though necromorphs could jump out at you at anytime. This game is a definite must to pick up for any horror game fans out there!

This is a nice game and yes it is better then the first... or is it?
It does have better graphics, it seems to have better controls... but something is off. It just does not feel as authentic as the first one... and it is (as the first one) highly repetetive... the story is... whatever... not really important... the circumstances are forced...
What is cool, are the new Z-gravity controlls, this is a nice addition, that should habe been in the first one.
This is a nice game... get it on sale... do not believe the hype... but I will not recommend this.

On a side note... Only EA knows how to punish you with free DLC... you get some mighty weapons and armor right from the start FOR FREE because the game comes with some lame DLC pack that includes those. It does not really breake the game, but surely goes against the intended survival aspect and it does make the store window overcrowded with useless items.

Creative weapons combined with inventory management and a unique customization system, plus strategic dismemberment combat and fantastic zero gravity flight sections. Also tons of cheap, frustrating, and boring jump scares that nevertheless force you into close combat and preclude any use of strategery (also totally undermining the creative weaponry). The total lack of actual fear or horror of any kind and the pathetic narrative only serve to highlight what might have been.

I reconmend this game beucase it still has it's creepy moments but mixxed in with action. The game's setting has already made you feel as if somthing big is going on and you're part of it. the Graphics are Great and Run Well. My Favorite part so far was the train part.

Dead Space 2 Review:

Pros: Immense story about an engineer 'Isaac Clarke' who can't escape his past and is slowly losing his sanity.
Clarke actually talks unlike in DS1, so instead of just making grunting noises you can actually understand his personality and what he is going through.
*Spoilers Ahead*
Adding Isaac's girlfriend into the game as a hallucination, not only adds a creepy effect but also shows you how guilty Isaac feels about not making it to the USG Ishimura in time and how he lives with a seemingly intolerable form of PTSD.
Jump Scares galore, always check your corners.
Tough situations to survive if not approached correctly.
Lots and Lots of crates to smash.
Multiplayer is a nice touch, although at this point the servers are pretty de-populated.

Cons: Combat is basically the same as DS1, not really a bad thing but for some people it affects the game.
The final push leading to the final battle is very hard to survive on anything higher than normal.
Need to use an EA account to play multiplayer, once again not a problem for everyone but some people don't like EA.

Final Score - 9/10 One of the best SH games I've had the chance to play.
