Why Early Access?

“FourChords Steam application is our company’s first big screen desktop application. When we started this exciting project, we felt strongly that we don’t just want to develop a direct port of our existing FourChords mobile app.

Instead we went back to the core of what we are doing - making playing songs with your guitar as fun and easy as possible - and built the whole user experience from ground up to suit the desktop and big screen mediums. Early Access gives us an amazing opportunity to get feedback from the Steam community while we keep adding more layers of functionality and content to our application.

FourChords Steam application is the fruit of months of development work. Early Access users will find all of the core functionality working smoothly and the application is shipped with a hit song catalogue of over 100 songs. We are especially proud of our new audio engine that makes the songs from our catalogue sound meatier and groovier than anything we’ve done before.”

FEATURE UPDATE: STRUMMING TRAINER RELEASED

FourChords Guitar Karaoke for Steam has now been live for two weeks. Many thanks for everyone who has already installed our app or added it to their wishlist.

Today we are happy to release the first update for the Early Access version of FourChords with a great new feature: Strumming trainer.

Strumming trainer teaches you to play your favorite songs by using the correct guitar strumming style. You can even learn strumming techniques with a lower tempo and gradually increase the tempo to match the original level of the song.

In the coming weeks we will release some awesome new song packs and features, so stay tuned.

Whether you are already using FourChords or not, we’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas about how we can improve our app in the future.

Be a great campfire guitarist!
Improve your rhythm and practice different strumming patterns!
Try and play using different variations of the chords.
Too good a player for this? Use it as a backing track for lead playing practicing scales.
Don't play guitar but sing? Practice your singing!

I was very surprised by the "Game/App" Well worth the money and I am glad I bought it. I am a novice and used Rockamith mainly. This is an easy way to just strum. Nice to see a few songs I am surprised I am able to play.I am well happy I bought this "Game" / "App" Nice Job.

Its fun but I am not a beginner.
Runs great and stays in time :thumsup:
Its not bad but not really a learning thing its just what it says it is karaoke.
The stumming thing takes you to Justinguitar for his lessons on strumming in the APP but goes nowhere here right now.

Would be worth the price if you got to pick the the 100 songs from their 1500 +song bank in the app.
I could not find how much or where to get additional songs from.
If I could pick my own 100 starting song book I would pay 20$ for this.
They do a good job explaining the APP in their"About this game"
But its Just an app despite being able to use it on you PC
But hey Justin Recomends it so who am I ;-)

I got no answer from the DEV on pricing.
I played the android free version it is the same but you get no free songs and is 35.00 a year at 40% off right now or 4.99 a mo. kinda steep IMO. So lets hope they dont go that way
There is no real instraments or sounds all electronically generated.<Not a bad thing Just so you know

Disclaimers: I own this game because I helped trouble shoot/bug fix/proof read an early version of it. I don't own a guitar, I don't really have much experiance with Rock Band or Guitar Master games or types of games. In fact, those games never really apealed to me.

This game is really special and fantastic, though. "Guitar Karaoke" is exactly what you are getting here. Pick a song you like (there will be a song you like because there are tons of songs) and a video pops up showing you how to do each one of the baisic chords in the song. The video is as fully featured as you could ask for, so whenever you are comfortable with all of the chords, you go on to the song. There is no points system at all, instead there is an option for a metronome, and tempo adjustments live on the fly if you are having trouble keeping up. This game is about helping you learn to play guitar, by playing guitar yourself, strumming out tracks everyone knows in about 10 minutes from telling Steam to download it. There are a robust range of tools available, and no gimmicky anything.

TLDR: it's more of a self help learn to play guitar program than a "game," but it's honestly really fantastic. I almost bought a real guitar because I played this game for free, true story.

What an amazing program! I've been looking for a program like this. The music is beautifully delivered, clear, and with great ease. The demonstrations are simple but extremely effective effective in showing any skill player how to join in beautiful music... even the paramaters of each song is customizable... struggling... slow the song down... need a crazy rush, speed it up... want to change your accopaniment... so many ways to make the experience rewarding and enjoyable. I myself, am an amateur musician, but my wife is proffessionl musician, and she was impressed (and that's not easy to do). Highly recommend it!!!
