Arguably the best PC game ever made and it is still a classic. At the time was a massive leap in realism and content, better than anything I had played. Still play often. All true gamers own this game! 10/10

No one can call themselves a true fan of the Total War series until they've played Rome: Total War. Yeah for some nowadays its hard to look at but it definitely has a winning formula that the Total War series was built around: Great campaigns and amazing battles.

If there had to be a single groundbreaking game in the genre, it would be Rome: Total War. At the time, it revolutionzed what it meant to be an RTS and remains to this day one of the greats. Despite its age, it is still easy to slip into and play if you're wanting to dive into a Total War binge. The variety of third-party mods also make sure that it never gets boring.

Rome: Total War is a strategy games where you can play as Rome, the greatest empire ever recorded in human history. You start the game by choosing three distinct Rome family and then lead them help Rome Republic to its greatness or take your chances and become an emperor yourself. Gameplay is good, you start in a big map of Europe, half of Africa and half of Middle East in a turn-based strategic map where you get to develop your city and train an army of Rome legions. You can also use the diplomacy for trades, alliances or wage war against other faction. After you have an army, you can then engage in a battle with other faction in a real-time battle map that created based on the strategic map location. Battles are big here as you can command thousand of troops in a single battle. You can attack other faction armies or lay siege on their cities to capture them. A simple naval battle is also included here and you can also transport your troops through the sea of Mediterranean. Build fort or watchtower to guard strategic location, send spies to infiltrate enemy city or send an assassin to kill the enemy characters and generals. Yes, each army can be commanded by general which will improve their fighting spirits. Both generals and troops can gain a veterancy as they fight and have their weapon upgraded in cities so they become stronger and stronger. I really recommend this game for strategy lovers.
