About This Game

Take command of your army and expand your reign in Medieval II - the fourth installment of the award-winning Total War series of strategy games. Direct massive battles featuring up to 10,000 bloodthirsty troops on epic 3D battlefields, while presiding over some of the greatest Medieval nations of the Western and Middle Eastern world. Spanning the most turbulent era in Western history, your quest for territory and power takes you through Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, and even onto the shores of the New World.
You'll manage your empire with an iron fist, handling everything from building and improving cities to recruiting and training armies. Wield diplomacy to manipulate allies and enemies, outsmart the dreaded Inquisition, and influence the Pope. Lead the fight in the Crusades and bring victory to Islam or Christianity in the Holy War. Rewrite history and conquer the world. This is Total War!
  • Bigger and better real-time battles. Improved combat choreography, larger armies, quicker pace, and spectacular finishing moves make this the most visceral and exciting Total War ever.
  • New epic campaign. The ambitious single player campaign will span three continents and let players sail across to the Americas to confront the Aztecs on their home soil.
  • Greater accessibility. An enhanced user interface and optional shorter campaigns make the Total War experience faster and easier to enjoy than ever before.
  • Over 40 new features. An advanced terrain system, enhanced weather effects, and more will help you divide and conquer.
  • Intense Multiplayer Battles. Wage war against other players in 8-way multiplayer games across the Internet and LAN.

NOTE: Because the Kingdoms expansion uses core game elements from the Medieval II: Total War game, it is required that you use the same method for purchasing Kingdoms as you did in purchasing Medieval II: Total War. If you purchase Medieval II: Total War from Steam, then please use Steam to purchase Kingdoms.

Medieval II is an magnificent game that will steal hours if not days from your life. Important note though, this game has a mix between Turn-Based kingdom management and Real Time battles so if you don't like TBS or RTS games i don't think MII is for you. Vanilla MII is a great game, but i personally suggest that you download either the StainlessSteel or the DarthMod mod conversions which change several game parameter and drastically increases the difficulty and adds tons of new content to the game. Diplomacy is pretty light but it is a forgivable feature due to this being a Total War game and the whole point is to wage war and conquer everything in sight. Vanilla AI pathfinding i horrible in sieges, but there are some mods that can fix it, although not fully. In conclusion, MII is a unforgettable game that is certainly worth the low price you pay for tons of hours of war and conquest.

My first game:

Play Danemark.
Reform Calmar Union, because Norway and Sweden are just stupid rebels.
Unholy Not-Roman Germanic Empire declare war.
Epic battle at Hambourg, 4/7, I still win.
Counterattack 2 turns later.
Wipe them out.
Start attacking new neighbours randomly.
Meet Russia attacking Poland while I was taking it for myself. <- Realism.
Pope say I'm a heretic, my king reaction: Meh.
Now I'm apparently on Satan's side, I don't need to hold back anymore.
Manage to take France, finifsh Russia. Huge invasion fleet destroyed by England. <- Realism.
Suddenly, Black Plague. Lost 2/3 of my people. Can't have armies anymore.
Suddenly, Mongols, not enough troops in the East, I retreat.
I take Rome and kill the prisonner pope. New one is British. He don't like me. Every other Christian Nation hate me, I'm apparently the Anti-Christ. I got Crusades.
I lost a lot of cities. Rebels everywhere. My kings are assassinated.

Europe is now at open war as some nations decide to keep for themselves the towns, original owner declare war.
Pope excomunicate everyone.
"Christian" Kingdoms wage war against each other.
Mongols laugh and go forward to the west.
Heresy, the whole world is plagued with Heretics. And Inquisitors too.
I manage to hold the Mongols away, but now I feel alone on Scandinavia.
Pope finnaly forgive me... 2 turns before he get killed my mongols.

Whole World speak mongol now. But I'm happy because I'm Christian again.

10/10 would plunge the world into chaos again.

This game made me fail my Medeival History class... Apperently writting an essay on how England took over the majority of Europe, held Russia\'s king hostage until his son paid ransom, and ethnically cleansing the Middle East is \"Utterly rediculous\" and "Insanely racist\"
