"The concept is really good, but the execution has some issues (gameplay). But it's still interesting and fun to play. And well, strategy and zombies!"

About This Game

Trapped Dead is a tactical real time strategy game in the tradition of classics such as "Commandos" and "Desperados". You and your friends control your characters in a 3rd person isometric view through a mature Zombie survival scenario inspired by the successful horror films of the early '80s. A co-op mode for up to 4 players is included as well.
The story takes place in the early 80s in a small town names Hedge Hill near Kansas City, Missouri. The sowing of a new genetically modified type of corn caused the existence of a new virus which mutated through the natural food chain. A dog bite of an infected animal caused a local outbreak of the virus which rapidly infected the inhabitants of the idyllic provincial town. Mike and Gerald, two college boys, are thrown into the middle of a terrifying horror scenario. Having pulled over to a gas station near Hedge Hill during what was meant to be an enjoyable road trip, they are unaware of the virus which has already reached the gas station and its staff…

I'm tired of seeing this game get such bad press. If you like zombie apocalypse games based on old '70s or '80s films or comics then you'll probably like this one. Mind you, its not perfect; its a bit too short, the controls are a bit wonky, and the voice acting is just terrible, but it satisfies a need for zombie mayhem and the all important retribution against said zombies. Blast one up close with a shotgun with the wheel-chair bound Doctor to see what I mean. It reminded me of a cheese drenched movie acted by card-board cut-out actors, but that's really all I wanted or expected from this small title from a small company and I think it delivered.

It's not perfect by any stretch but it's fun for what it is, and if you can snag it on sale, even better.

P.S. I didn't have ANY of these game-breaking bugs I keep reading about.

I don't understand why everyone is against this game.

It is not the game of the year but it is not a bad game either.

There is strategy, the story is basic and the map are good.
A little buggy but not more than any other game.

this game is great. it's like a cross breed of rts and hack and slash, but it's not hack and slash, you need to use strategies. you really don't just want to run in gunz blazing or bats swinging....bad idea.

it is point and click which is similar to diablo in a way, but once you gain other team members it's similar to command and conquer or starcraft, in a way.

the game play consists of finding weapons, ammo, health kits, and other survivors to tag along with you, etc

once having found other people you can have them tag along and can control them, you switch between or control all at once, like c and c.

this game has a lot of cool features
no bugs that i have ran into. i beat this game a while back, so im pretty sure.
i have never got stuck and unable to move like some people are claiming in their reviews.

the game is overall fun. my only issue with the game is....nothing at all. great game

buy it and see for your self, stop listening to idiotic critics and find out for yourselves. most critics are cod fans meaning they don't know what a good game is...

I think this game gets more abuse than it deserves and I think herein lays great potential for a new take on zombie games. Not that I'm recommending this game on its potential alone.

Where there can be filler sections, there are a good smattering of genuinely exciting sections where you have to tactically micromanage your team's position, weaponry and targets to escape the hordes that are rolling inexorably over your position. Cramped indoors or built up urban areas add to this excitement, where every move is key. I found the game's difficulty relatively on the low side though (no difficulty settings either), and was never short of ammunition but the game is swift to punish carelessness as your guys can become zombie chow in 2 seconds if left unattended next to a hungry undead.

The story plays homage to all the zombie cliches in a suitably brief (only about 8 or so hours of gameplay so it doesn't outstay it's welcome) tour of all the standard zombie invasion locations. There are rough bits granted, and it could be buggy at times. I had at least one crash to desktop, and sometimes injured zombies would suddenly stand up many metres from where you had smashed/blasted them to. Also there are some truly bizarre choices at times (the end credits ends on a box of cereal) and the ending was a bit of a flop, leaving me with a bit of an anticlimx as the only thing resembling a boss fight coming on the penultimate level.

I will allow there are better zombie games out there. Though if you love all things zombies and tire of the standard run and gun zombie kill-a-thon then this could be the game for you. Definitely pick it up on sale.

Not sure why all those with a box of kleenex next to them and barely have a few mins of play judge the game, yeah it sucks in the beginning but find the HEX hack for weapons and ammo and get a few of your friends "if you have any" past the opening section and the game really is cheap fun, I paid a quid for this and that was money well, go back to said kleenex tissues and soak up your salty tears after your hissy fit that a child would be proud of and play through the game to justify your ♥♥♥♥♥yness........for those looking to pick this up please see how many hours of commitment they have put in, for the full price this game aint worth a dime, for a couple of GBP, I got it for £1 on steam sale this games fun level increased with my forgiveness for the turd that wasn't quite the diamond cut.....remember, HEX hack for weapons\ammo and its simple fun! Now....flame me muvafukazzzzzzzzz hoooooorraaaaaaaa
