"Keeps the same RPG tactical gameplay as the first game but puts it in a much less linear version of the universe. Fun times!"

Acerca deste jogo

Six years have passed after the events of 2226 A.D. The balance in the galaxy has been restored as transgalactic corporations have been deported to the outskirts of the galaxy and deprived of their power.

The Empire, just as before, continues to fight against the Aliens. As a rule armadas of battleships aren't used in such conflicts. Small maneuverable squadrons that can attack and retreat quickly are better suited for this type of war. This means that the famous Star Wolves team is back in action!

Star Wolves is a 3D space RPG with deep strategy and tactical elements. The game thrusts players into a world of freelance space hunters during a time of war for the all-powerful Empire. Human space pirates, rogue AI computers that rebelled against humanity and Aliens roam space in search of easy prey and planets to conquer.

  • Star Wolves 2 is a sequel to the best-selling space strategy with role-playing elements
  • Huge game world with over 50 star systems and complete freedom to move from one to another
  • New ships including the Mothership, improved fighters and ships built using alien technologies
  • Upgrade your ship with a huge range of parts
  • New characters and mercenaries to join your team
  • Non-linear storyline, several ways to finish the game and dynamic missions. It is up to the player to choose where to go and what missions to pick up.
  • Upgrade your ship with a huge range of parts

I bought this game after enjoying Star Wolves 1 but was really disappointed. I only got a few missions in due to this game being a buggy mess. My pc is a mid-tier running windows 7, played many games (old and new) via steam and this is the first one that I found unplayable.

Star wolves 1 played alot smoother. This game also offers very little improvement over the first one (even recycling alot of character portraits etc). It offers an open world via portals, replacing the end mission rewards page with alot of unnecessary travelling to and from each mission/trader. The dialogue is also very offputting, comically so. Every line is delivered without emotion or emphasis; jovial banter or life and death threats are delivered the same way. Other than this, it plays just like the first.

I could not recommend this game, it is a gamble as to whether it will work, if you'll get game ending bugs or just minor ones. (The bug which affected me prevented mission obectives from triggering and somehow this affected every save file since the start of the game). If you enjoyed the first game it might be worth a gamble, but this game offers no improvement over the first.

Cannot recommend, the "feel" of the game is like from 90s(90s bad "feel") a lot of cumbersome controls and frustration about game engine and design.

NIce game. Not very good voice acting and the plot also isn't best but it's not common to have freedom of going where you want and when you want, do some subquests or hunt some pirates before doing main quests. However game is quite buggy. I've managed at least fix the problem od crashes every few minutes. You should find star wolves 2.exe, select properties, compatibility, and tag disable visual themes and disable desktop composition. I'm not sure it will help everyone but after doing that i could play about 3 hours without crash and after that i quited because I wanted to, not because game crashed. I hope it'll help a bit. It still won't make this game perfect yet still it's starts to be a bit of playable. Sadly, there is no way to cope with misson glitch. When it once happen you won't be able to win any attack mission. That sucks.

The story is quite weak, and rather forgetable. Where this game shines is in the gameplay.

Did I mention the voice acting is terrible? The voice acting is TERRIBLE.
An example of the awful voice acting:

Despite the games short comings (weak story, terrible voice acting) I would give this a definite try if you're into space shooters, and the price is low enough.
