About This Game

Star wolves is a 3D space RPG with deep strategy and tactical elements. The game thrusts players into a world of freelance space hunters in the XXI-XXII century A.D. during a time of political crisis for the all-powerful Empire and the three mega-corporations that control all the known worlds. Corruption prospers planet-side and only space can give a man his freedom, but not without a cost: space is not a safe place anymore. Human space pirates, rogue AI computers that rebelled against humanity and empire patrol ships roam space in search of easy prey.
Players begin the game as a bounty hunter with little more than an old, run-down space fighter and a dream, but as they advance in the game and prosper, their piloting and battle skills improve, allowing access to more advance spacecraft. Players can control a party of up to six bounty hunters, each possessing different skills, abilities and personality.
Team tactics give players vast opportunities in battles when shear fire power isn't enough. Tactical ruses, planning and executing ambushes or deploying spaceships' special abilities provide cunning commanders the ability to crush enemies according to their style of play.

I've had so much fun with this game. Some good mods available on the publishers website that enhance the play as well. This game represents a playstyle that has died out sadly. Check out the first two if you like this one.

Nice surprise.

I got this on sale for 2 dollars to try after finding another surprise. I had gotten S.P.A.Z. (space pirates and zombies) from some cheap bundle on the net and found it to be really addicting.... costing me 80 hours of time. I had never played these type of space games and I was looking for another. Found this cheap and it is really addictive too. It is old, so yes, there are issues but, if you get it for really cheap, can't complain.

--Sound issues... I just turn it down and play the radio, don't loose much from the game.
--Contols... I have not had a problem. I use pinnacle so I mapped my 360 controller to most of the keys I use from the keyboard. I keep my left hand on that for "keyboard" controls and drive with my right on the mouse. Works great for me.
--Resolution scaling issues. The game does not like to be forced into large resolutions. Although I have fiqured out how to make it work well enough for me and the game plays nice stretched across 68" of real estate across 3 monitors in Eyefinity.

It is addictive and fun. IF you can get past some of the issues and get it on sale, it is a good $2 well spent.

GREAT game, just started getting into it. Its confusing to learn the controls at first, their IS no tutorial in the first installment, but totally worth looking at, if your a fan of full control of up to 6 fighter units, and a mother ship (making it 7), and full scale squad tactics. If you've played eve online, think of it like eve, but with out the first person view point.
