Относно тази игра

Large-scale battles have become a vestige of the past, depleting resources of conflicting parties. Settled space, where welfare and order had reigned, has become a cemetery for dead ships which is flooded with pirates and adventurists. Complete impunity, black market flourishing where gun and tech trade is on the move, arbitrariness and anarchy – the Galaxy has become a real dangerous place. Events in the Universe and its habitant’s destiny are completely up to player’s choice and tactical decisions.
Star Wolves 3: Civil War is a sequel to the popular real time strategy with RPG elements. Original large-scale scenario, closely tied with the first part of intergalactic epic helps the player influence the ongoing events and foreordain one of many endings. Free roam, free mission selection, free team forming – the world of Star Wolves waits for its heroes.
  • Huge world: 110 highly detailed star systems in different parts of the Galaxy.
  • Non-linear story: several endings and additional quests create a complete game universe.
  • New characters and skills: form up a team of your dream; teach your companions new skills.
  • New participant in the intergalactic conflict: the Space Fleet of a New Empire, equipped with its own spaceships.
  • A number of new base ships and fighters with unique specifications and original weapon types and equipment.

Has BG/ BG2 pause system , but in space! Mothership acts as floating base for up to 6 fighters. ♥♥♥♥loads of tech and pilot RPG elements. Kinda buggy save alot, lots of text so you may have to read, short story. As a saving grace it has a huge solor system with lots of factions and infighting.

I was expecting a space sim like X3, where the learning curve is so deep, you'll spend 10-15 hours just learning how to play. Star Wolves 3 is more like a Bioware game, where there's a LOT of story.

I had a mission where I had to decide between delivering a spaceship to a science facility or saving a man's family from being blacklisted by the Empire. Oh, the spaceship I was delivering had a bomb stapped on it. But the man offered me a lot of money. The choices!

This game is my all times favourite, it is worth it ,but you have to be patient before you get the big guns! Not like most poeople that just say "ah this ship sucks , it cant shoot , I dont have money" etc, its a RPG RTS game , one of a kind , had potential in ashes of victory , it died.I hope the haters are happy now.Anyway the game is awesome since recently I saw that there was a guide , which to be honest I didnt know alot of thing that were in it. :D

I've always loved space and anything to do with it. Games like Endless Space and Sins of a Solar Empire have occupied lots of my time with such replayable gameplay.

If you like spaceship adventuring and being a captain of your own mothership, then you will probably enjoy this game.

The aesthetics are good, the music and sounds match the atmosphere and are nothing too crazy. The voice acting and cutscenes are below average, but do not take away from the game too much. Some of the cutscenes also do not appear to be skippable, which is slightly annoying to me since I can read faster than the text stays on screen. The story seems to be decent, with lots of factions vying for control in the Star Wolves universe.

The controls may be difficult if you aren't used to this type of gameplay, however, experimentation and practice with what each button does will help familiarize yourself with fairly quickly. The learning curve is moderate to difficult - especially considering that there is no in-game tutorial. It is strongly recommended that you first check out the tutorial missions before jumping into the main game. You can die very, very fast in this game. Save often just in case.

Gameplay can be sped up to 8x normal speed, and you probably will be using that option a lot during your travels. You can select 1 of 4 classes to start with, each with its own specialized skill/perk tree.

In the beginning of the game, you are constantly presented with numerous decisions, which I found to be very nice for open-world style gameplay. There are a variety of ship parts and weapons to select from. The galaxy map is very, very large and expansive, allowing for a lot of exploration.

There is a lot to do in this game, and you can even dock fighters inside your mothership.

If you really enjoy spacefaring and space combat, check out this game.

Recommend.

If you liked freelancer, you probably will like this one also. Personally I think this one is better than freelancer. Not just about the graphics, but the whole game including game mechanism and everything. The game play is very similar to freelancer, except you wander around with a 'mothership' instead of just one vessel. The mothership can release up to 6 fighters in battle as long as you got enough pilots. Thus the control is different from freelancer too, it is more like EVE type rather than freelancer's 3rd person space shooter.

You can replace your mothership and fighters with more powerful onces, or upgrade them with powerful weapons/modules. There is a good varience of different weapons in game. Unlike some games where different series of weapones just differ in names, the weapons in this game are quite different from each other in practice while still being quite balanced. You actually have to consider using different fighter/setup against different enemy or to match up pilot specialty. And yeah, there is also a skill tree system where you can choose which battle style you would like to go with. Each pilot's skill tree is a little different while the protagonist can select from 4 quite different skill trees in the beginning.

And the storyline was rich and vivid, too.

The only complaint I have about this game is that you can not 'free play' as in freelancer after story ends. Although there is a period of time before the end where you can go anywhere and do anything you want.

BTW, it is not an easy game and might make you frustrated in the very first few missions as I was. But once I figured it out, I started enjoying the game.

9/10 One of my favorite.

Graphics/Aesthetics:
As dated as graphics may be nothing is out of place and everything is instantly recognisable. The ships and weapons all look different and each conveys their feel and performance. The best part about it is that everything looks great in its own place. The worst is that the game generally has a very low visibility range as objects fade out of view if too far away.

Sound/Music:
Generally all sound design is decent. Nothing too bad or obnoxious. These is a very obvious lack or any voice-over except a couple of cutscenes. The music tends to be somewhat repetitive but not too annoying so as make you turn it off.

Gameplay/Controls:
If you played Homeworld 2 the controls should be quite familiar. The game supports an organised and logical set of controls that almost always make sense. The map may appear featureless but it is actually very functional. There is a very handy Speed Time function which allows you to speed up time and the game also includes useful functions like "Pause of Enemy Detection". The biggest drawback is that you cannot rebind ANY functions, WASD doesn't work and i personally had to use an AutoHotKey macro for the "Speed Up" and "Speed Down" functions.

Progression: The game features a decent progression system but it is fairly linear in a general sense. You cannot choose your main ship outside of story missions but you have full freedom on how to outfit your fighters. Each character has its own progression talent trees and each usually focuses on a specific job (that guy is good at missiles, that girl is good at repairs). Ships can be customised with various support and combat systems such as extended radar, remote repair, stealth/cloak, anti-missile PD, missiles, torpedos, lasers, blasters, cannons, railguns, etc... Each particular item has about 3 to 5 tiers of variants, one more powerful (and expensive) than the next.

Story: Yes, this game features several endings that are actually quite different depending on which faction you chose to help. The story itself is quite decent but sometimes forces a gimmicky situation just to advance the plot - "My ship blew up for no reason because the plot is giving me a new one". The characters are interesting enough for immersion and you won't be disappointed, but don't expect any feats of writing.

Overall:
THIS IS NOT AN RTS, this is more of a "Dragon Age meets Space Rangers" with your hero and allies on an adventure. This is an older game so some of the things you may take for granted today may not be present here so expect some mixed reactions in the beginning.

4/5 for those interested in the genre and definetly a good choice for anyone interested in this type of game. Pretty good until the end and has good replayability if you're interested in the various endings by trying a different approach/loadout.

3/5 If you don't care about space strategy, the controls will annoy you and the mouse is quite sluggish. Not a waste of money but not the best introduction to the genre.
