Xbox360 > Steam > PS3
【オンライン対戦料金】Steam(無料で相手をちゃんと選べばXbox並の回線) > Xbox360(有料) > PS3(無料)
【ロード、起動の早さ】Steam > Xbox360 = PS3
【 オンライン人口 】PS3(オンラインも無料で人口は一番多いがそのため様々な回線の人がいる) > Xbox360(PS3より多少少ないがガチ勢が多い。プロゲーマー、有名プレイヤーは基本的にXbox360) > Steam
【オンラインの強さ(個人の見解)】Xbox360 > Steam > PS3
【ゲームの拡張性(グレーな部分もありますが)】Steam(有志によるMOD) > Xbox360(公式のDLCのみ) > PS3(公式のDLCのみ)

Great game. Worst implementation of multiplayer I've played in over a decade. Don't touch this with a long pole unless you're planning on playing offline only.

Incessant lag due to the network implementation blocking the game thread when responding to matchmaking pings, both in the menu(Random 2-second pauses while navigating any multiplayer-aware menus.) and during actual gameplay. General sluggishness and lack of responsiveness during online games(Often feels like you're playing with a half second delay on anything you do, plus inputs are randomly dropped.), and network connection rating icons that don't display accurate information(Poorly-rated connections are often good(Bearing in mind the entire game's network performance is awful. "Good" is very relative.), while good-rated connections are often awful. Plus it takes several seconds for the game to decide how to rate most players' connections while matchmaking, usually extended by several more multi-second freezes of the game.).

Additionally, the game's developers have gone from a very good working multiplayer implementation, back in late May/early June 2014, to completely breaking it with the above-mentioned technical problems, to promising a patch to correct issues that did nothing, to deploying a beta patch to correct issues that did a LITTLE bit, to promising another patch to correct issues, that also did nothing.

Additionally, looking at the release notes of the various patches in spring/summer/fall 2014, it's painfully clear that the current development team Capcom has allocated to the game is incompetent and has zero ability to develop software beyond changing variable values.

All this while Capcom public relations personnel post soothing promises of fixing things soon, once the outcry from the playerbase reaches the level of thousands of complaints.

Is it playable, in light of these technical and mismanagement issues? Kinda.

Is it enjoyable, in light of these technical and mismanagement issues? No.

No one in their right mind should spend a dime on this game.

Problems that need fixing before you consider buying this:

1. Random freezes / lock-ups in game. Offline or otherwise, not related to netcode.
2. Buggy netcode, frame-skips, lag and poor matching.
3. Players using bots online.
4. Players can disconnect from ranked matches with no consequence denying other players their legitimate wins.

Not recommended at this time.

Not particularly accessible to beginners, but it's probably the best and most popular fighting game available on PC right now. It's balanced to where every character in the game is viable (except maybe Dan), and there's enough skill involved that the better player will inevitably win more matches. As good of a fighting game as it is, it's difficult to recommend with the online mode being in its current state. When the game was transitioned from GFWL to steamworks, something was changed that made matches much more laggy and unreliable, even with good connections. For a game where competing with other players is so important, this is inexcusable.

Rather than buy Arcade Edition, it would probably be in your best interests to wait about a month until Ultra (the next edition of Street Fighter 4) is released on August 8th. Hopefully by then the online issues will be fixed. Since the majority of other players will upgrade to Ultra on its release, you would end up paying $15 extra anyway.

Before buying, consider whether you're willing to tolerate a laggy and unreliable online mode. If not, then hold off on buying until Capcom proves that they care enough about their customers to fix it.

UPDATE: As of August 7th, the Ultra update has been released and the lag online HAS STILL NOT BEEN FIXED.

UPDATE 2: A month after release (September 7) online matches still freeze and lag intermittently and there has been no word from Capcom about when a new patch can be expected. There was a patch for a beta version of the online mode in the middle of August, but it didn't solve the problem and I can only guess that Capcom has been too preoccupied fixing Dead Rising 3 to bother with USF4.

FINAL UPDATE: Another network patch was released in the middle of October that again failed to address the problem that has existed since this game's release on steam. To be clear, Capcom already knows what's causing the extra lag and freezing. They've known for months. When players search for or host matches, they exchange packets to identify the strength of each connection. Something went wrong in the steam transition, and the game continues to ping players and bombard them with packets until the game stutters and freezes (both online and in menus). Essentially, the game DDoS's you. It was SF4's playerbase who identified the problem, and Capcom has acknowledged that this is indeed the issue.

For myself and many/most other players, the most recent patch has not made a noticeable difference in network performance. You can't search for online matches in training mode without the game freezing whenever someone searches for matches (generally every 5-15 seconds), the menus lock up repeatedly, and lag in Ranked quickly gets out of hand. The game has been broken since its transition to steam and Capcom evidently doesn't give a damn. If you're on the fence about purchasing USF4 and intend to play online, please do not.

While the game itself is quite good as far as fighting games go, the PC version suffers from horrible network performance. Also some of the new characters are a bit buggy. I wouldn't recommend it on PC until it has been sufficiently patched.

Do not buy this game.
Since the transition from GFWL to Steam the online is broken, matches are very laggy, matchmaking is much slower with many timeouts, and it's generally a very frustrating game, and now today I can't even play online, I get "session creation failed" and can't search for games.

Capcom has gone really downhill, and they keep promising to fix it but end up giving out band aid patches which fix nothing, if it's not sorted soon I will be looking to get a full refund and possibly taking legal action as all other pc gamers with this game should do, it's not acceptable.

I urge you to write a similar review if you have had this bad experience with ultra to put people off buying it and giving more money towards this broken game and defunct company.

The developers don't care about the game anymore and have betrayed their playerbase multiple times. The online mode is a bug- and lag-ridden mess that doesn't uphold to modern fighting game standards.

Street Fighter has had quite a long history behind it. First releasing in 1987 in the Arcades, the series became popular once the sequel, Street Fighter II released on 1991 and pretty much created the Fighting Game genre and the competitive scene for it.

This now being the fourth iteration features a number of gameplay changes to the traditional Street Fighter formula as well as a slew of new and classic characters from past Street Fighter and Final Fight games.

The story (Yes it has a story) is set chronologically after the events of Street Fighter II but just before Street Fighter 3rd Strike. A new World Tournament is arranged after Bison's defeat at the hands of Akuma (SF2) in order to draw out Ryu and use his hidden powers and complete a project. Besides the main premise, every character has their own intros and endings after defeating the final boss, known as Seth - a new character to the Street Fighter franchise.

The gameplay's still top notch Street Fighter. The game's heavily based on pokes and footsies (throwing out safe moves and controlling distance to your opponent) rather than combography, like games like Marvel vs Capcom or Mortal Kombat. Almost every character plays differently, with the obvious exception of the Shoto characters like Ryu, Akuma and Ken.

Street Fighter has a 6 button layout, divided by Light, Medium and Heavy and each by Punch and Kicks. (Eg - LP - Light Punch or HK - Heavy Kick). Unlike in games like Marvel vs Capcom, however, these inputs can't be linked by just dialing-a-combo, they have to be timed as the animation ends or you use an old trick found out that helps players link together these moves known as Priority Linking or Plinking. Every character also possess their own Special Moves, most of them CAN be linked from normals, however. Motions also vary per character as well as the requirements for executing these moves - for example, Ryu's Hadouken has the standard QCF motion plus a punch button (QCF stands for Quarter Circle Forward or in NUMPAD motions - 236), likewise, Ryu's Tatsumaki Senpuu Kyaku (Spinning Kick) has the motion reversed or QCB plus a kick instead of punch and Ryu's most complicated move, the Shoryuken has a "Z" like motion, (..or in Numpad reference: 623). Other characters, like Bison, have Charge moves. Charge moves are moves that require a direction to be held for a set amount of time, for example Bison's Scissor Kicks require you to hold back for a few seconds, then when you're ready to use the move, tilt forward and press any kick button, Bison will then execute the move. Kick motions are usually written in Numpad reference as: 4Hold 6+Button.

NOTE: The Numpad References mentioned above require you to, of course, take a look at the numpad on your keyboard, an analog stick or a joystick go by that to divulge input information easier to Fighting Game Veterans and Newbies alike. In Numpad - 8 would be Up, 2 would be Down and 4/6 would be Front or Back depending on your positioning in the game.

There's more stuff characters can do to further extend their offenses:

*L,M,H Alterations to Special Moves: Almost every character, if not all of them - can slightly alter their special moves depending on the designated punch or kick used. For Example, using QCF+LP can result in a slow moving Hadouken, whereas using QCF+HP can result in a faster Hadouken. Some moves also come with different frame numbers, so maybe a Light version of a move is safe on block, but the heavy version of the same move is very punishable after you use it haphazardly.

*EX Attacks: EX moves are that require meter to pull off (Read below) but are, essentially, buffed up Special Moves. EX moves are executed by holding two of the same button when inputting a special move. For example, Ryu's EX Hadouken would be QCF+LP+MP/HP.

*Focus Attacks: Focus attacks are done by holding the Medium Kick button and Medium Punch button. Focus moves, if charged enough can soak up certain moves up as a counterattack and cause a Crumple State on your Foe (Crumple State means that your character is in an animation where they can't move, defend or attack). After a successful Focus Attack, if you input a dash, you can cancel out the residual animation and continue your offense or escape a failed Focus Attack before you get punished, some characters, however are unsafe even if they cancel out. A Focus Attack cancel into dash is widely known as "FADC" or Focus Attack Dash Cancel and these can be used to cancel out of some special moves. NOTE: Some moves WILL break through a Focus Attack, when they do, you'll hear a shattering sound, be mindful of this when haphazardly throwing out focus attacks.

*Super Moves: Super Moves can be done when you have a Full Meter. Just like Ultras and Special Moves, they have their own input that varies per character. Using a Super will drain your entire Meter.

*Ultras: Every character has 2 Designated Ultras, you can, however only choose one in the character select screen after choosing your fighter. In game, you get the meter to use your Ultra moves as you take damage. It is possible to use 2 Ultras in the same round.

*Throws/Command Throws: Every character has a designated throw move. A throw can be done by pressing the light Punch and Kick buttons. Throws can be teched out of (Escaped) by pressing the Throw buttons just as you're being thrown. A throw can come out instantly and is often used for mix ups in an on going match. A Comand Throw, however, is only usable by certain characters, like Abel and Zangief. These have their own motions plus a button press, same as Special Moves, however, these throws are untechable and often deal high damage, but they aren't as easy to land as a regular throw.

In game, you have three meters you need to keep track of as well!
These being your health bar at the top, your Super Meter (Has 4 rectangles - each indicate an EX move that's now usable) and your Ultra bar by the side, which, when it lights up, means your character's Ultra is now useable.

The game itself looks great visually with a lot nice visual effects that still look great to this day. The character models are a little bulky looking, but it's more or less to do with the game's own art style. The stages in the game look great as well, some are very vibrant and colorful and some have more animated backdrops in the stage to give it more authenticity to what you're seeing on screen.

Soundwork is great aswell. Every stage has it's own theme to fit what you see on screen and helps further the authenticity of it, as well as some stages have their own added background noises. Each character also has their own theme songs and can be chosen to play them instead of Stage themes in the options menu as well as changing the character's Voices to English or Japanese. In game, everything also has it's own little chime that helps the player to identify them. When you gain a block of Super meter, it usually has a little 'puff' sound that helps you identify that you or your foe have a new block of meter to use. Hit noises are also fairly well done and help identify the more solid moves to give it more impact, likewise, the weaker moves, like light punches and kicks have their own sound that sounds less impactful but serve to help you identify that you hit your foe or viceversa.

Overall, this is an amazing fighting game that no fighting game fan should miss. Not much to say other than it's Street Fighter. Great mechanics, a healthy selection of characters with high variation to them and of course, the game ALWAYS has something new for you to learn, even if you're seasoned veteran.

Pros
+Great Mechanics
+Lots of Character Variation
+Has an amazingly balanced roster
+Amazing Visual Effects
+Amazing Soundwork and soundcues help give the game authenticity and impact

Cons
-Dodgy Online System

Since the migrated from GFWL to Steamworks about 2 months ago. The game can best be viewed as a Early Access game. I was hopefully the release of the Ultra DLC would fix the game. Sadly the Ultra DLC has only come with it own set of problems
Here are some of the biggest issues:

* The netcode is very unstable.
* Freezes and Game crashes
* The five new characters are unfinished. Missing hurt- and hitboxes.
* Lack of polish on the new animations and SFX
* Missing modes: like training mode
* bugs everywhere.

Treat this as a Early Access game without Feedback.

I would only get this game if you just want to play versus with friends or arcade mode Online is almost unplayable unless the person is your next door neighbor that's how bad it is. This game has the worst netcode for online play like come on even The WarZ had a better netcode rofl.

It's a good game, but I cannot recommend the PC version.

Since the Steamworks' transition (5 months now), the online has been a mess; lag spikes, disconnects and broken connection bars most of the time. We've waited months for the 1.03 patch that supposedly was going to solve these problems, but it did nothing (and actually got worse for some people).

It's a shame, really. Like I said, it's a good game:
- It's easy to pick up, but it also has its depth, so it's good for both competitive players but also for people who wants to play more casually.
- There's a huge roster, moderately balanced I would say. You'll definitely find a character that suits you preferred playstyle.

But... unless you're planning on playing exclusively offline with some friends, stay away from the PC version.

Pretty much what everyone else say. The game is very good, however its online branch is garbage: it runs on a cheap peer to peer system with bad matchmaking, lags and freezes everywhere. It feels like you are playing in the past century with a 56k modem, on a game with strict timing mechanics this is just unacceptable. Five months already passed when most of the problems came out (Steamworks transition)and still they did not fix it. Considering you can truly take full advantage of the game by playing online I can't recommend it.

I can't recommend this game as is. The online is very shaky and that's the only problem but it's a big problem seeing as how most of the game is centered around online play. It's great for local or arcade mode but 1 out of 3 connections I get are unplayable due to lag. PLEASE FIX THE ONLINE CAPCOM!!!!

If you are going to exclusively play offline, with fight requests off at all times, the game is entirely worth it and I recommend it wholeheartedly. But because I would like to play online and I believe most interested people would as well, right now I cannot recommend this game.

It is a fun game and the community can be really great, but the state of online play is unacceptable and the fixes being released are few, far-between, and are seemingly half-baked and not nearly enough to address its problems and, due to the history of the changes implemented so far, I don't see the online issues being actually fixed soon.

Ultra Street Fighter IV is a great game, but as of mid-October the online portion of it is mostly useless because of bad net code, and it can even affect offline elements of the game if you have incoming fight requests on while playing offline.

Ever bought a game and known exactly what you were paying for?
Ever owned a game on multiple platforms?
Well, i have - and this is one of those games

I'm a ♥♥♥♥ing hardcore street fighter player, i've played for as long as i can remember and every iteration of the series possible
I'm not as consistent as Daigo, nor am i the best Bipson USA - but what i can say is that i am a tournament player.
SF4 certainly isn't my favorite i can't deny that - but listen to what i hate to say, and listen closely.

This game will make you rage...
Do not buy the steam version...
PC master race does not apply here...

I already own this game for BOTH CONSOLES - i knew exactly what i was buying when i got this
except for one small detail

Connectivity does not exist; at all.

If you're not looking at a "Connecting to opponent" popup in the middle of the fight, you're playing at ♥♥♥♥ing 1/4th speed or with massive frame lag - this game is a ♥♥♥♥ing trainwreck - i can't give you a better explanation than this.

I tried streaming some of my matches simply because of the sheer comedy involved in the gameplay
and let me tell you one thing, it was ♥♥♥♥ing comedic alright.

DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF ♥♥♥♥
IT HAS ABSOLUTELY NO GAMEPLAY VALUE
ONLINE DOES NOT WORK AT ALL - LET NOBODY FOOL YOU
I TRIED EVERY SINGLE FIX
I AM ON INDUSTRIAL FIBEROPTICS
I HAVE A RIDICULOUS GAMING RIG
YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PLAY THIS COMPETITIVELY
EVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

EDIT: FOR ULTRA

So Ultra is finally out; Connection issues were being worked on and for a couple of weeks it was actually playable - Up untill the release of USF4...
