Lost Planet 2 is a great and fun game. It's one of those games that you can replay just for the campaign whether you're playing alone, with randoms, or friends. I played this game countless hours on the Xbox 360 which made one get the PC port of the game. The game is capable of running in DX9 and 11 which makes the game looking stunning both in graphics and performance.

If you ignore all the bad reviews about having to use Games for Windows Live (GFWL), you'll be surprised to find this game is a rare gem. The community hosts games every Friday and Sunday for multiplayer games that aren't related to the campaign. If you have any problems such as how to get over GFWL or corrupt save files, the community is willing to help if you post in the discussions or in the active Lost Planet 2 group that was created to host games on Friday and Sunday.

I highly recommend this game to people who like to play coop games or play alone.

Unless you can binge play this game the whole way through i don't recommend this game. The save feature doesn't work anymore and there is no multiplayer anymore which was a really fun part about this game. i was very disappointed because i really like this series. :(

I'm glad time has redeemed this game.

Back when Lost Planet 2 was first released, there was heavy criticism and sales were poor (or so some sites claimed). My crew and I didn't care. We played and replayed the game together countless times. Nowdays I see this is held in better regard by users - well-deserved.

The campaign action is just flat-out fun and never gets stale thanks to much awesomeness. For starters, there are loads of ways which you can complete stages. Want to be your team's sniper? Grab that rifle and bring it with you to the next stage. If not, grab that shield and earn bonuses for defending against bazookas and mech fire, or just jump on that gun turret over there and fire in your enemy's general direction. Go around a side path and solo 2 big akrid while your team goofs off. Grapple onto a giant boss's limb and pump entire magazines of bullets into its weakpoint while it's actively stomping your allies.

Want more awesome? Go into space skinned as a chick in skimpy armor and watch yourself do awesome things in character-accurate cutscenes. Battle in every 80s American movie classic setting - "battle in the jungle!", "battle in the slums!", "battle in the docks!", "battle on desert trains!". All this wrapped in a patriotic story about violent and ruthless war tribes united against a threat to their very planet (I won't lie, it took me like a year to understand this plot but there it is).

Whatever GFWL hassles people complain about, you can power through them. Hundreds of us have, and we're out here on helicopters shooting angry ice bugs. Grab some friends, or join some randoms who'll steamroll every stage for you. I promise, you'll only wish this whole ride lasted longer.

An amazing game that I love, and would highly recommend.

Now, we have to move onto the topic of GFWL, which a lot of people have trouble with for some reason.

I highly recommend Creating a microsoft/xbox account BEFORE HAND, AND DOWNLOADING GAMES FOR WINDOWS LIVE BEFORE HAND, don't be stupid and not download it, and then try to create and download through their service, you're just ♥♥♥♥ing yourself or trying to find a way to hate it.

After your nice account is created, boot up Lost Planet 2, do your settings (make sure to click select to apply them). Then click play, where the apparent nightmare happens, GFWL. So, you already have an account, click log into existing account or whatever it is, type your info (password thing may not show you typing one in, just type it anyways and make sure you have it correct) then click log in.

Now, it should after this tell you there is an update, say yes to it, and when it gives you a profile screen saying you need a profile, press alt f4, exit the game. As behind the game is the update you need to download, click yes, you know, all the stuff. Now, if done correctly, it should now launch the game again, click play, login (highly recommend having it remember everything and logging in automatically), then it should take a while to download your profile, and you should be able to play.

If this doesn't work, then look up other guides.

Other than that, I recommend checking out gameplay before you purchase the game, making sure it's the kind of game you will like. Other than that, have fun with whatever you're doing!

Definitely one of my favorite games of all time. This game holds one of the best co-op levels ever created and should be played by everyone. There are a few gripes with controls, configuration, and compatibility with windows 10 but the game can still run flawlessly at 120FPS.

One of my favorite 3rd person shooters, and personally, the best entry into the Lost Planet series due to the immense scale of everything. The campaign is lengthy, the character customizer is extensive, and the multiplayer is barely there sadly. This is a game I would play with a group of friends and run through the campaign every once in a while for fun, because this is one of those games I just don't seem to get bored of and can keep on playing for a long time... and I have been since I've bought it on PC and even before that when I had it on PS3, where I put almost a hundred hours into it.

This game would be better if they gave it a small update to remove the windows live, which can still be a bit annoying seeing as it still randomly disconnects me for a reason which I haven't figured out yet.

To this day I await another Lost Planet game that goes back to the formula of this one. Hell... I'd be happy if even a new IP came out that did something as fun as this game. Except with more customization, more weapons, more mech suits, and more enemies, and some better controls and a better camera angle.

It's never late to review a game, especially one such as this.

I played this game back on the PS3 multiple times over with a buddy of mine years ago and had a wonderful time playing each and every time. The game just had a wondeful feel to it that I didn't find with any other game at the time.
Large monsters: check
Multiplayer: check
Cool aesthetic: check
Lots of options: check
Mechs: check
Got the game during the 2016 Summer Sale and has my opinion changed? Not a bit! I'm currently playing with 3 of my good friends and I've having even more fun than I did before. Lost Planet 2 is still absolutely fantastic and just as much fun as I remember it being. Of course, multiplayer is going to be the best part about the game (up to 4 people in a group) so if you have nobody to play it with then maybe this is a game you should pass on, but if you do have friends to play with then I would highly suggest you don't let this game go.
You do need Games for Windows Live, but it's so easy to use that there's no reason for that to be a reason you don't pick this game up. Just install it, boot up the game (you'll need to restart twice) and then you'll be able to play with your buddies to your hearts content! Ignore the people giving the game negative ratings just because it requires GFWL. The game works just fine (currently running on Windows 10).
To wrap things up, Lost Planet 2 is definitely worth the money if you have friends to play it with. I love this game through and through and am very glad that I was able to get the chance to play it with a full group of people.

+Best co-op boss fights you can ever find
+actually challenging on hard mode
+tons of monsters
+underrated (you can be indie and cool you hipster)
+mech suits that are not overpowered

(hard to install the first time, but it still works. Give it a chance, but only if you are playing with someone else; there is no story here, only really awesome levels with great arcade boss fights.
