I played this game years ago (still have the CD somewhere in my garage) I purchased it off Steam for like 4 bucks and really wanted to play it again. it is an AWESOME game!!!

But... it is so old that the graphics are ancient and do not scale with todays resolutions. If you play it on a high resolution, you cannot read the text because it is so small. If you make the resolution lower, then the window is so small, it doesnt show much of the playing area. (Which sucks for casters)

I have searched and searched for a fix to this on the web, but alas have found nothing to fix it.

Great game... just not compatible with today's tech. So I am giving a recommendation of "No"

Titan Quest is one of the best old school ARPGs out there. Immortal Throne is the improved version of the game and adds Act 4. The graphics age well. The music is phenomenal. The combat is fun. You can build your character in a variety of ways using a combination of 2 skill trees. The game uses a mix of mythology from different cultures (Egypt, Greece, and Asia) which makes it interesting.
There are a few issues with the game. The frame rate drops whenever I use the teleporter. There is a massive frame drop in one of the levels during Act 4. However, there is an unofficial fan patch (patch 1.17a) that can fix most of these issues.

This is a favorite as far as Diablo 2 clones go. Work your way through ancient Greece. Choose your class towards the start of the game then another class to mix in. There is something to fit almost any playstyle. Worth a look especially on sale.
Would recommend also getting the added vault patch to avoid loosing items later on.

This game is somewhat of a classic and many people seem to like it. I'm not one of those and here is why:

The combat is slow-paced and feels clunky and unresponsive for an aRPG. Every fun ability is on a cooldown and forces your character to stand still for quite a while, which makes the gameplay feel static. Consequently, kiting is a pain in this game, although required in places, and it makes the combat an unfun experience.

Because the game is so slow, character progression becomes a chore after a while and killing monsters does not feel rewarding anymore. Dying comes with an experience penalty right from the start.
The skill system in Titan Quest is pretty cool, though. You can combine any two masteries, which are basically skilltrees. This allowes for unusual combinations and allows for a certain degree of customization. Respec options are very much available.
However, leveling up takes way too long even in the beginning of the game.

The loot in Titan Quest is boring and comes with generic affixes. There are a couple of interesting items, but they are few and far between. The vast mayority of items has 0-1 affixes. The ones with two useful properties are already rare and it feels like anything speed related is very much required. The relics allow for some stat customization, but it cannot save the loot system.

Lastly, the game did not age very well in my opinion. It looks old an doesn't even run well on my (admittedly potato) machine. I had many stuttering issues and the framerate was all over the place. I didn't have trouble with the much newer and better looking Diablo 3 or Path of Exile, though.

I don't really see a reason to buy this game right now to be honest. There are much better games out there, that deserve your attention and time more. If you want a budget option in the aRPG genre, for example, pick up the free Path of Exile. It is better in almost every respect.

ive actually looked over this game all year because its a 2006 game i just kept on scrolling past it thinking it was an old game with horrible graphics..... Well after not being able to find a good arpg which i have really been looking for ever since diablo2 i decided to give this a shot i mean 20 bucks if i dont like it, its watever.... But i will tell you this so far this game is awesome game mechanics wise i think its better than diablo2 playing at 1080p its actually just as good as diablo3 graphical wise... Now while ur playing ull relize these are the same ppl who made grim dawn which i actually do not like at all but this is a million times better and the fact its greek mythology which i love makes it even better.... i brought up grim dawn cuz i play everything in 4k mainly i believe that in 4k titan quest is better graphical and gameplay wise than grim dawn.... it actually seems like this company took a giant leap backwards with grim dawn compared to titan quest its just that good.... Arpgs have been suckin ♥♥♥ ever since diablo 2 if ur looking for that itch to be scrathed this is ur game..... One flaw u have to hold a button to pick up items which can be a pain in the ♥♥♥ if u dont rebind the keys for it to be comfortable thats all i can think of thats not good and its not that bad like i said if u rebind ur keys so everything works good and comfortable

In my humble opinion, this is the greatest ARPG ever created, enhanced by the fantastic mod support that the community has used to the fullest. The class system is amazing, allowing you to combine two out of nine mastery trees to make your own unique class with an incredible amount of customization. You have the fully offensive, close-quarter mastery Warfare, which revolves around duel weidling weapons and becoming a whirlwind of AoE and single target damage, at the cost of defence. Ranged masteries like Hunting which allows you to deal huge amounts of damage from a distance, and debuff your enemies defences. Magic masteries such as Spirit, which allows you to drain the life from your enemies! And 6 other unique and exiting masteries.

The world is vibrant and beautiful, starting in Greece, them moving to Egypt, then China, and with the DLC, even into the domain of Hades himself! The quests while perhaps a little generic, are very fun and easy to follow, and often give satisfying rewards along with a nice chunk of EXP and Gold! Not to mention the amazing loot you will find along your journey.

All in all it is a wonderful game, one of my all time favourites, I highly reccomend checking it out. And if you enjoy it, keep an eye on Grim Dawn, a game being developed by many of the same people that made Titan Quest, it promises to be an equaly enchanting ARPG set in the Victorian times!

Hours of fun gameplay, especially with friends. For a 2007 game, the graphics are impressive. Still enjoyable. A huge variety of skills and passive skills to build your character. If you ever played games like Diablo, Torchlight, you might want to try this game out.

Titan Quest, and its worthy expansion Immortal Throne is, imo, part of the holy trinity in ARPG's along side Diablo and Dungeon Siege. Titan Quests theme is unique, and the gameplay is so faithful to the principles that made diablo so great.
There is a massive, diverse world covered in several acts. In combination with tons of loot in the suspected qualities to keep the flow of the game intact. On top of that, the game also follows the model of increased difficulty (normal, epic, legendary), remeniscent of Diablo's normal, nightmare and hell. Each difficulty features harder monsters and better loot.

If at one point, you would get tired of the original campaign, you can try some of the fantastic mods available, especially Lilith: Battle for Jalavin (a totally newly created world which will take you up to 20 hours to complete). This mod in combination with other well known TQ mods such as Masteries mod (skill overhaul mod), gives more than enough incentive to go through the whole experience all over again with a fresh new slate.

All in all, if you are a fan of ARPG's it is a genuine crime not to have this masterpiece. The majority of the now-closed TQ studio (Iron Lore) are in the process of making a spiritual succesor named Grim Dawn (by Crate Entertainement). Given their history with TQ, this is a title to keep in mind as well and currently available through early acces on steam.

Closing advice: go spend money on this, preferably as soon as possible, you will not regret it.

For me this was a game that managed to carry on the torch after Diablo 2. It has the same well known structure through acts, a great leveling and skill system, and loot a-plenty. Even now in 2015 the game still plays well and feels smooth and fun to play. It has indeed aged well, and the graphics still does the job satisfactory today, as the aestethics makes the world a bautiful one to spend your hours in.

You should pick up this game if you like games like Diablo, Torchlight, Path of Exile, Sacred, Dungeon Siege and I would even say Borderlands.

The multiplayer community seems to thriving even after all these years, so you shouldn't have too hard a time to find comrades there if that is your playstyle.

For my taste this is one of the best rpg games I've ever played.
