Above average action RPG, the theme of greek, egyptian and chinese mythology kept me playing because I wanted to see more famous characters and monsters from those mythologies. Especially great if you play it in cooperation with friends, otherwise it might get repetitive quickly.

Going to make this a short review. This game is basicly like the other games of the same genre/type. Same loot systems, similar combat, camera angle, quests, etc. I played this with two other friends and while it wasnt an over-the-top experience it was fun... for a couple of hours. Good enough for free-to-play games.

Titan Quest is another isometric top down ARPG and it's a damn good one at that. If you happen to have Titan Quest Gold or at the very least Titan Quest Immortal Throne play that instead. Immmortal Throne is the expansion to Titan Quest and adds graphical updates, another equipable gear slot, more quests and another ACT making it 4 ACTs in total.

If you like games like Diablo, Torchlight and Grim Dawn this is a must play through.

Easily granting 30+ hours of gameplay and over 40+ with the expansion. This is a must play through.

Note: Titan Quest has been abandoned and as such you SHOULD play Immortal Throne instead!

Editing my review as it was brought to my attention that Immortal Throne is an Expansion that, while it launches on its own, still needs this game to be played. Just go and play Immortal Throne immediately however, there is nothing in basic Titan Quest that is different, and only Immortal Throne has mod support.

Original Review:
This game is unneccesary. I played this first, dumping 35 hours into it, only to find out that Immortal Throne is not a sequel. Immortal Throne is this game, polished, plus extra. Save yourself the time, it is not worth it.

If you're looking for game that's comparable to Diablo, choose this one.
It's really cool when you're playing with friends - especially when they're raging because they can't get better items after 30min of exploring and u're getting them every 5minutes, ahh... salty friends = best friends :D
It's really on the same level as Diablo, but with different story, so you can't say that one of them is better than other.

tl;dr If you like Diablo but u're already bored with it, then buy this game, 420/69 recommend!

Let's do another "My father is 55"

So my father is 55 years old.
He can't speak english very well.
Usually he plays Knights and Merchants.
And everytime I get him a new game, he comes back to it.
However, not this time. Oh no.
Now my father is playing Titan Quest.
He has no idea what he's doing, he just clicks his mouse.
But oh boy, does he like clicking his mouse.
10 am, playing Titan Quest. 3 am, playing Titan Quest.
Usually I let him play games on offline mode so I can play mine to get the achievements etc.
But I wanted to see when he plays and how long he plays. 100+ hours in and he's having a blast.
(Still needs a bit of help with picking talents but besides that, perfect for non english speakers.)

My father is 55 and only plays Titan Quest.

Only monsters you are going to encounter during Babylonian / Chinese / Mongolian campaign are Raptors and Neanderthals. The fact that the developers choosed to put those monsters in game instead of thousand of interesting creatures from huge asian folklore makes me believe they are either racist or plain ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

This game is pretty awesome for a simple RPG. It's basically more of the same - but that's not all. The graphics, music and sound effects are good, the storyline is interesting enough with plenty of side quests, and the basic idea is very good: monsters and walking corpses in ancient Greece. Top all that with the fact that the landscapes really have been thought through - no boring repetition - and you have a game to play for days on end. Amazing really. Ten years old and totally playable. For less than €10. What are you waiting for? Get it!

Almost forgot: the view is not isometric. It is full 3D although the viewpoint cannot be changed much. Games like Arcanum have an isometric view.

After playing for 40 hours total: this game falls into the same trap with many other RPG:s. The gameplay basically stays the same when you advance deep into the campaign, but more and more enemies appear. This is immensely tedious. I personally didn't even want to see how it all ends (would have but I got fed up with clicking, clicking, clicking). Probably some difficult fight with some huge enemy boss or something. Big deal.

Still, for casual gameplay, this is entertaining enough for the price.

The first impression is about the game is that it looks great still 2016. Nicely done interaction with the environment, spell and other effects looks well, acceptable ( very detailed ) character animations and so on. But the purple cloud go away and the gray reality stay...

There is a lot of game design problem there. The inventory is totally useless, we have a very limited place to store items and there is no grouping and a single item can use four or six slot. Also no grouping for similar items ( only for potions but there is a limit for it: 5 potion per slot. Second thing is the loot. A tons of useles and cheap ( means worth 4-5 coins ) items dropped by enemies ( yeah, creators maybe feelt the same and built a loot filter ! Seriously ? LOOT FILTER ? OMG! ). After each small fight, you should teleporting back and sell everything OR forget the whole loot system and hold only better items than your gear and ignore shops. This leads to the following problem...

Tons of loot means tons of enemies. After a while you just feel that you are an ultimate killing machine and the game turns into endless hack and slash ( the whole gameplay is that: you should hold shift and left mouse button while at least one enemy on the screen. This is NOT fun for hours ! Also no real save in the game, and if i finish play today and come back tomorrow i need cleanup territories which already done. This is fustrating because i even feelt that, there is to much countless fight in the game ... Strange i say that but the most fustrating is the massacre i done...

Finally, the story and story-telling is not really interesting and not the stronges part of the game. This is fault for me because the game died on one of the most important component for me.

By the way, i don't down-voted it because i like hns and rpg games, but if you are a casual player just turn back and leave it untouched ! Seriously! this is not your game. I only recommend for anybody who are blind fan of the style !!! This is the last warning to turn back ... :D

Daaayym...I can't really put my feeling about this games greatness into words...If you like mythology + RPGs, I'm certain you would like this. It has so much replay value! Just stick on a podcast etc. and you're set :D

Having said that, I would definatly recomend that one buys Titan Quest Gold which comes with the expansion to the original game. The expansion, Titan Quest: Immortal Throne, will become your main launcher for the game after you have run the original (Titan Quest) for the first time. I myself have 155 hours total playtime in this game (expansion included) and it's only going to grow!

I have played and beaten this game with my friend several times since 2006, and I will definitely play it again.

If you are fascinated with ancient mythology and don't find the typical 'hack and slash' gameplay dull, buy it and enjoy. Don't miss Titan Quest.

Pros:
+Graphics still hold up very well even in 2016
+Long single player campaign
+All that you would expect in a Diablo style game (mobs, camera, classes, loot)
+Item comparation when you get drops
+A lot of loot and multiple tiers (normal, magic, legendary, set, etc.)
+Greek mithology
+Very nice price ( you can get it during sales for almost 2Euros!!) that's a hell of a good deal for this ammount of content

Cons:
- Very similar to Diablo2, not much inovation ( but can be a good thing as well)
- Sometimes progress feels grindy

Overall, if you didn't played it and you feel like a Diablo-esque style of game, get it! It holds up visually and it's a lot of fun.

8.5/10

I don't usually post recommendations before I complete a game, but 14 hours of really enjoyable LAN party this weekend, and the fact I am 100% sure everyone involved will be completing this game (we all really liked it), say I should recommend it whlie it's still on sale and people can pick it up for £2 (depending on whether you want Immortal Throne, which is probably worth getting too for an extra £1).

It's bit more hack'n'slash than I am used to in a top down RPG (I am more of a pause-and-play player, usually) and it is a dungeon/loot crawl, but it's a blast, and the MP is really well done and well-conceived in feature set. The graphics hold up perfectly well (which given it's from years ago... this game must have seemed gorgeous back then).

Note: LAN play just works™, and for online play the free-to-use Gamespy replacement Gameranger gets things working as if gamespy never shut down their servers.

9.0/10 - Epic Action RPG!

A friend from the group recommend this game to me. Thanks Hevel! I have only played the single player and I'm extremely impressed!
One of the most fluid ARPG's that I have played. It's 8 years old but it doesn't look or play like it. There are extensive quests and a huge map to explore. Everything is dark and as you explore the map becomes visible. This is one of my favorite aspects because it forces you to explore and check out the entire map.

Multiplayer doesn't work unfortunately. You can play with friends via LAN so I look forward to getting into this. I’m assured it’s really fun!
Worth the $14; on sale for $3

One of the best RPG's that you can still play in this day and age =- I played it in 2006 as a pirate - and today, I decided to support these brilliant people - I can pick it up 9 years later, re-play this amazing game and then only wish for Servers to be part of an online experience - <3 Peace.

Great Graphical engine for a top down isometric RPG -= works fantastic.
Recommend for fast play: Hunter -> MS and AS - and then im finding out which other one to suit the hunter - considering the naturalist - she's female after all -

You can't go wrong with how fun this game is - i want to try LAN it sometime too

I ask for thyself another game
For that which I play is too small for me...
So near to the East
In a part of ancient Greece
In an ancient land called Laconia
The game starts at some country farms
You'll be a legend but now you're unnamed
You can choose the class for your character strats
You can watch the stats defeating enemies
Graphics is high all my complainings is low
I'm beating a boss but maybe he beats me though
So then Egypt fell to the Computer king as well
And I have found a place with XP farming
Entering Babylon and all pyramids are now empty
I got my treasure my pocket is full I'm feeling safety
Took all that I could and moved to China
My friends wouldn't follow me there
Tired of the combat, pain and glory...
One more step and Titan has fallen
But who will be the master of Asia?
After all after anyone who was wrong
The legend he died of fever so good game in Babylon
Computer the Great the life in this is more important than real
Computer the Great quest's over Titan fell and I see that was not real

Graphics 8.7
Sound & Music 9.4
Atmosphere n Setting 9
Storyline 8.5

My not professional score is: 9.2

I am not quite sure what it is about this game that makes me play it. I own Diablo 3 and have played through Path of Exile, similar games, for many hours, but I find this game to be more enjoyable. I generally don't like older games, but this certainly changes my opinion. However, if you are going to purchase this game, try to buy Titan Quest Immortal Throne. Much more content added and if you plan on playing and investing time into this game you should buy that instead.

To be more specific on what I like or dislike about this game I think have to start about loot. Certain good items you would want are fixed to specific monsters. The only thing you would have to do to get these items is to kill them over and over. Personally, I think there is a lot of grinding involved (and I play without mods), but I find it incredibly rewarding. These items are incredibly useful for a large portion of the game, though until you find these items in Legendary you will have to reobtain them. I'm still traversing epic, but I must say that items I found in Normal (relatively good gear or so I thought) turns out to be worse than even the most basic of items in Epic.

Leveling feels relatively slow to me. Of course I did not know what I was doing so I wasn't optimized for farming that well. One thing I will say is that there are a few spots where farming is very efficient, but for the most part any location is nice to farm. Especially since certain monsters drop specific relics, you can get a lot of levels while trying to get relics (or item).

My experience with the class system is a jumbled mess. I should have known better to look up before trying to play this game, but it definitely isn't as taxing as other games. Since you can respec skill points my horrible build turned out less horrible. Definitely glad that this was a feature.

I'll definitely add more to this as I finish up Epic and than Legendary, but this is my limited experience for now. Great game really.

Edit: Epic is certainly more rewarding. I was farming Act 1 bosses for some better gear and it didn't take too long to get what I was looking for. The drops are certainly rewarding too, but the decision to use a Green tier item as opposed to a Blue or Purple (a higher tier) was difficult because you can't attach relics to Blue/Purple items. Green tier items get a limited amount of modifers so its really up to you to decide. Leveling is also significantly longer, as expected, but its not as bad as I thought. I actually bought Immortal Throne (the expansion of the game) so I won't continue playing this

TL;DR - Plan on putting time into a good game? Buy Titan Quest: Immortal Throne.
