Fantastic!! This multi-game and multi-experience demonstration of the Vive is well worth the price of free and certainly worth more. I have paid $20 for VR games I like much less. Do not hesitate to download. It super rocks!

Still the standard for roomscale VR experiences. The gameplay (both in polish and variety), the graphics, the sound design, and the writing are all top-notch--but could you expect anything else from Valve?

I usually use The Lab to introduce friends to VR--first with the sightseeing to get them used to moving and teleporting, then, of course, Longbow to hook them.

If for some reason you have the Vive and haven't tried The Lab, well, actually the only reason that makes sense is that you are psychopathically insane and set on living a life of misery, disappointment, and boredom. But friend, I am here to tell you: IT IS NOT TOO LATE. Click that play button!

Valve still has the ability to show others how it's done. To set the standard. To raise the bar. This time with VR.

Another Valve "game" that leaves you hoping for more.

The Lab is a collection of short VR experiences that serve as a showcase of what VR in general - and room scale VR specifically - can do. Valve made sure there's something for everyone, gamers and non-gamers alike.
These experiences range from games to sightseeing to scientific displays, and are all accessed from a central hub (the titular Lab) that is itself a lively and fun place in which to to hang out.
With every experience you access, the hub gets populated with mementos for you to toy with.

Everything is refined, detailed and oozing with fun, in true Valve fashion. The experiences may be short, but they are very polished and all offer repeat value. The games especially (Longbow, Xortex and Slingshot) will keep you coming back.

Like all the reviews say, this is one of the very best VR content you'll find.

This is a great introduction to VR,
and neatly lays out concepts and baselines for
other VR games to follow.
It's also free.

Very good. Can you please make a game now?
I bought one of the first Vive's available in Australia and was blown away by the product.
But now I feel like i bought an Atari.
Remember what happened to Atari?
For those unfamiliar with the demise of a "technical marvel.'
It's market got flooded with useless, money grabbing games, long short story short,
it died a horrible death.
I'm getting bored. And for someone who mindlessly whacked this on the credit card, is not a good sign.
Sony's headset sounds terrible, but when that screen door simulator gets released to the public, there will be tailor made VR titles to take ours minds off the fact that we just spent a fortune on this scuba phone.
Make a game for god's sake or at least tell us your working on it?
Even though Occulus is being a prick and not sharing titles, it's doing a much better job at promoting the next VR design.
They have games and if your not stepping up and making your own then why should they let Vive owners play them?
Better titles on your behalf will even up and sure up the market for VR.
Nintendo would not be around today if it wasn't for Mario, and SEGA is still showing us why,
(except for Alien isolation. That was awsome!)
Rant over.

Incredible! Please VALVE... please make more!! We will happily pay for it.. Longbow is the #1 game on the Vive, and the potential to be something truly amazing with very little dev effort is hard to watch. You've got all the assets, game mechanics (i have no idea what im talking about here but it cant be that hard if youve already made a small game to expand on it), the years of knowledge in game dev, the captive audience.. Also Slingshot is not far behind Longbow either, followed Xortex. Whats a man gotta do? Pa-lease! Love your work!

All I can really do is pile on praise for The Lab. It offers a whole plethora of great experiences, from checking out the solar system to firing bombs into a huge warehouse full of boxes to firing arrows at an oncoming mob to meeting GLADOS face-to-face. The controls are always intuitive, the experiences are always fun and/or interesting, and it's a great intro for new people into VR. The Lab proves to be a great jumping off point for devs to get ideas and players to get acclimated to VR. I can't wait to see what Valve does next.

So much fun! All of the mini games are great, but the standouts for me were the catapult and the archery games... It really makes me want MORE, however, they're great little games but the replay value is low since you've seen all they have to offer in about 30 minutes each. Still highly recommend it, though, just hope it gets some DLC!

Easily the best experience for the vive at the moment and it's free. I've spent so much time playing Xortex and Longbow inside the lab. It's also one of the most polished experiences compared to so much of the trash software polluting the VR scene that are early access. The lab automatically adjusts resolution and quality to always deliver smooth 90fps experience, i wish every VR game did this. Only downside is the occasional crash and it seems to only happen when loading or exiting areas and it's pretty rare, can't complain about much else on it.

I can't wait for valve to release a fully featured VR game.
