DEV Blog #4 - Play PVP in the Exarahn Badlands

Greetings, Riders! My name is BK, and I manage overseas development for Riders of Icarus at WeMade. We are excited to announce that expanded PvP content for Riders of Icarus will be added to the game later this month! You will now be able to enjoy and compete in large-scale combat activities against your fellow Riders. We hope that guild members will forge bonds in battle and develop rivalries with other guilds through the Exarahn Badlands and Guild Alliance War.

EXARAHN BADLANDS

Riders enter this PvP area through a dimensional rift, which sends them 1,000 years back in time. The Exarahn Badlands is a region that has been left chaotic and lawless after the fall of the ancient Exarahn Kingdom and before the establishment of the Hakanas Empire.

The Exarahn Badlands has a similar topography to the Hakanas Highlands. However, it is a world of eternal nightfall with a looming crimson moon, which starkly contrasts the blue skies and vibrant foliage of the Hakanas Highlands.

This area is restricted to Riders level 28 or higher to ensure that only those that have had sufficient experience in battle may enter. Upon entering the rift and arriving in the Exarahn Badlands, all Riders other than those in your guild, alliance or party will become targetable enemies! So, you will have to be aware of your surroundings at all times when questing or hunting wild beasts. Yes, the risks in this region are great, but so are the rewards.

Because there is no penalty for dying in PvP, Riders who don't usually enjoy PvP should still try out the Exarahn Badlands content at least once. There are quests to be completed and new areas to explore, as well as new mounts to tame for Riders ready to brave the dangers of the Exarahn Badlands.

A PREVIEW OF MOUNTS FOUND IN THE EXARAHN BADLANDS

Nightmare
The most powerful flying mount in the Exarahn Badlands is Nightmare, who you may recall as the black Pegasus Crow was riding when leading the escape from the Prison of Salant. This mount boasts high speeds both on land and in the air. It is also a very powerful seal option for PvP equipment.

Profane Apocalypse
The most powerful ground mount in the Exarahn Badlands is Profane Apocalypse - the twin of Ashuram's war horse, Apocalypse! Apocalypse was tamed by Ashuram, but Profane Apocalypse has never yet been tamed. Like Nightmare, Profane Apocalypse also spawns at a random location within the Exarahn Badlands. Profane Apocalypse is one of the stronger mounts, and may be difficult to tame alone, so get your Alliance and guildmates to help you!

WAGE WAR WITH GUILD ALLIANCES

Guild Alliances can be formed when guild masters from guilds of rank 3 or higher come together. Up to three guilds can be in a single Alliance. Once an Alliance is formed, guild members in the Alliance can share information through the alliance chat. Furthermore, they cannot attack each other even in the Badlands, as they will be perceived as allies.

The founding leader that establishes the Alliance can declare war on other Alliances. We call this an "Alliance War." Alliances that are engaged in battle can attack one another in the Exarahn Badlands and Parna's Coast. Players outside of an Alliance War cannot be attacked or attack others in Parna’s Coast. The ability to PvP in Parna’s Coast is strictly limited to players in an Alliance which is currently engaged in an Alliance war. To protect new low-level Riders, regions that came before Parna's Coast, such as the Hakana’s Highlands and Sea of Hakanas, do not allow PvP even during an Alliance War.

Defeating an opposing alliance member will increase your kill count, and the Alliance to first reach 200 kills will win the war. Alliances that win the war will be able to collect victory rewards. Though these rewards have not been finalized yet, we plan to add special buffs and other exclusive content that can be used by winning Alliance members.

PLAY IN MILITIAS – AN ALTERNATIVE TO GUILD PVP BATTLE

Riders who are not a part of a guild or who are in a guild lower than rank 3 can register for the Militia to experience PvP in Exarahn Badlands. Players who are part of a Militia are allies, and can converse with one another. Militia members can also purchase buffs that will help in battle. More detailed information on Militias and how they work will be coming soon.

MANASTONE BATTLES

Another new PvP event that will be introduced with this update is the Manastone Battle. Manastone Battles take place once a week in the Exarahn Badlands. A server announcement will mark the beginning of a Manastone Battle. Simultaneously with this start, a Manastone will be spawned at a random location.

Essentially, Manastone mode is like capture the flag. Players can interact with and hold Manastones and will see their constitution (health and critical defense) increase tremendously. Riders who have the Manastone must return to town and deliver it to the Vantara Manastone Oracle. The simple rule is that the first Alliance to successfully deliver the Manastone wins!

The location of the Rider that obtains the Manastone will be displayed to all players within the Exarahn Badlands in real time. Members of Alliances or militias that don't have the Manastone must intercept the Manastone carrier and prevent them from returning it to the Vantara Manastone Oracle.

When the Manastone carrier goes down, the Manastone will be respawned at that location. However, if that Rider is intercepted and taken down too close to town, the Manastone will be spawned at a random location instead.

Special rewards will be given to the Alliance that wins the Manastone Battle including exclusive familiars. Riders will be able to demonstrate all the skill and savvy that they amassed from the Alliance Wars and Exarahn battlefields in Manastone Battles to become recognized as an elite master of PvP strategy and tactics.

BATTLE PREPARATIONS

These new PvP features are just weeks away from being introduced in Riders of Icarus. In the meantime, players can level their guild rank, forge an Alliance and otherwise prepare for the battles to come. Good luck in your preparation, and may the strongest Riders be victorious!

If you're looking for something new and interesting this isn't the game for you. I've been playing MMOs since UO and EQ and this game made me yawn. Granted I only played it for 11 hours, so maybe the end game content is good (i doubt it). If you've never played an MMO before then this will probably be a decent game, but for MMO veterans this game offers nothing interesting.

Wait for the final version of this game.

Teleporting and entering instances crash the game, despite it beign packed with a "anti-hacking" tool, the map is crawling with hackers and gold spammer farming bots. Also full of BR despite Nexon claiming they wouldn't allow BR ips...

Do not play it unless you can tolerate a lot of frustration and an awful BR dominated community.

Riders of Icarus is a middle of the road F2P MMO, it's not exactly bad but it's has some major flaws. Ones that many F2P games all share in common. It has promise if the developer WeMade Entertainment fixes the issues. Yeah you may have seen people complaining about the game being from Nexon but they only publish it and run the servers. Riders of Icarus was made by WeMade Entertainment. Plus to the people who hate Nexon, I have a question. Why did you download Riders of Icarus if you hate Nexon? Downloding a game that is published by a company you dislike is pointless and very telling about your nature. Don't like Nexon? Then don't download anything published and/or developed by Nexon. To do otherwise is a waste of time, effort and energy.
Pros
1. Decent MMO with multiple combat styles.
2. Being given cash shop currency for achievements and sometimes as a login bonus doesn't hurt.
3. Flying mounts from an early point and without needing a costly training permit.

Cons
1. Not being able to mute gold spammers via chat and shouts. Yes this is a problem that most F2P MMO's have and that none of the devs seem to want to fix. While it's not as bad as in Tree of Savior it's still bad and I'm going to call out all F2P MMO devs (not just the ones that made Icarus) as being accomplices to gold spammers via not putting in a way to report/mute or block them. They claim that gold seller sites are agasint the EULA and TOS and yet do nothing. If they made an account wide mute/block system then at least people wouldn't have to see gold spammers in chat.
2.Serious issues with storage, in addtion to your starting backpack you get one 8 slot bag from questing and the only other way I've found to get bags was the cash shop. Yes you can get cash shop currency for achievements but you'll have to save all that you earn back just for bags and not even good ones at that. We're talking 16 slot bags for 50 ellum.
3.. The targeting in action combat mode is wonky at best, you can sometimes be near an enemy you want to fight and end up targeting enemies farther away and can end up being attacked before you can switch enemies.

Verdict: Riders of Icaris has promise and if you can deal with the current issues the game has then I can easily reccommend it. If you cannot or just can't stand games published or made by Nexon then I highly suggest you look elsewhere.
Note to Valve, if you continue to insist on the obsolete thumbs up/down ratings then we need neutral rating as well. I would have given Icarus a neutral. It's not that bad but needs a lot of work.

I recommend this game, but I have so many troubles I do not even know where to start.

I am not new to games and I've played WoW a little, so the basic operations are clear. But this game here is so counter-intuitive I can not even begin to describe...

*) Chat is useless. Everyone spams about gold. I tried right-clicking their names, but nothing shows up. No ignore or anything. Thus I can not communicate with people and ask simple questions.
*) Combat system is a little whack. It promises fast pace action, but I do not feel it. The moment you attack you are stuck, so to say, so you can not really attack with a skill and move too. You can't even pull out your sword if you are not 3 meters from the enemy. Then, when the enemy is down, you have to wait a second before you can loot it. This all gives you a feeling of a very, very rigid and cumbersome mechanic. Nothing fluid in the slightest.
*) Half the time or more I have no idea what I'm doing. I've tried the ingame help, but no luck. I am lvl 15 and still just stumbling through the game blindly. I do not know if people have stats as such, haven't found them. Skills are just thrown at you as you lvl. And then you have to... combine them? Why can't I level alchemy? The hell is going on? Seriously I have little to no idea.
*) I don't know what is a bug and what is my stupidity. I stopped playing just now because I could not get off my dragon.

Now, why I do suggest this game after all this?

*) You can really tame a whole lot of things. It is not like 3 dedicated spots somewhere. Really, almost everything you see can be tamed.
*) The air fights are fresh for me. You can actually kill cows while flying on a dragon and that is always nice.

I will occasionally play this game just for the flying combat. I do not plan on trying to reach competitive skill level here. The fighting mechanics do not seem to be worth it at all. But flying is sweet.

This game was fun the first week. Even during Open Beta there was a massive amount of gold spammers which only seem to have gotten worse. On average there is atleast 50 hacker/botters on a day and 3-4 Gold spammers Per channel which "they continously are working on ways to resolve this" By not banning the aforementioned hackers, which is clearly against their ToS. The creators are more concerned with getting more money out of the players then they are with the community. The World bosses are camped by allied guilds to further their monopoly over the Auction House / Prices. I myself have spend countless hours grinding enough gold to take a chance at taming a Newer Heroic Mount only to Fail Twice, even with the +10% Success taming potions you can buy. 850G Wasted and alot of time and effort with nothing to show for it. Oh, that was after trying to FIND the boss to tame for upwards to 2-3 hours each attempt. This game is broken and they're doing nothing to fix it, i would reccomend moving on to better games!

I would of GIVEN this game an decent rating, it is over all a solid MMO, yet, beware Steam user of this game. If you decide to pay for features the Nexon company limits your purchase to $60 monthly, through steam. DOES NOT provide portal access to pre-paid services through steam. Trying to get portal access from support you have to wait 1-2 weeks of back and forth e-mail to identify you account, then additional they ask you for Government Identification!
Secondarily, NEXON will not provide support to the game without you submitting copies of Government documentation.

Acceptable forms of identification include:
Government/State issued photo ID, such as: ,Driver License, Passport, Government Employee ID, Certificate of Birth/Adoption (only if under age 18).

Been gaming over 20 years, NEVER been asked for real life Government documents records to get gaming support from a product I have brought. This should be seriously looked at by steam!

Please keep in mind, this game is in BETA. Things are bound to be messed up. I have played a good amount, clearly. Let me start off by saying that since I quit WoW about 2 years ago, I have been looking for an MMO to fill the void that it left. Riders of Icarus might be the one that fills that void. TL;DR at the bottom. (Also, keep in mind, I've never written a review before, but I feel that this game deserves way higher than mixed reviews)

Pro's:
-Obviously, the taming system. You can tame nearly anything in this game and use it as a mount or pet. As a mount collector in WoW, I loved this feature. Also, you get bonus stuff everytime you collect all mounts in a region.

-The game looks AMAZING. Some say the graphics are terrible but I have no idea what they are talking about. This game is VERY detailed with an almost Skyrim tier character creation screen.

-Gear looks badass and you get badass looking gear early on into the game.

-Class abilities are fun to use (at least they are on the wizard

-THIS GAME IS NOT PAY TO WIN

-Good difficulty. Dungeons, raids, etc. You also need special items to tame some of the better mounts(called familiars). Some of these items are difficult to get, and this gives a sense of accomplishment once you acquire that mount.

-The premium currency, ellun, is extremely easy to acquire without spending a dime. I've gotten over 200 ellun(which is a lot) just from achievements. I did the math on all the achievements and events, and its possible to get 300+. A friend of mine said you can get 25$ worth of ellun a month because of the daily/weekly/monthly achievements that reward ellun.

-Mounted combat. This is amazing. Although melee mounted combat is currently no where near is effective as crossbow mounted combat, both are EXTREMELY fun and satisfying. The only raid currently in the game must be done on flying mounted combat.

Cons:
-Buggy as hell. Some dungeons (the level 25 one) are buggy as all hell. The only raid that is currently in the game, is buggy as all hell. There is a bug that pretty much renders the last raid impossible if some people in your raid are in action rather than standard mode, and it took my guild 3 hours to figure that out, and after we did it was a quick 15 minute fight.

-Servers are unstable. Then again it is beta and I'm sure the game is bigger than they anticipated.

-Lack of classes. Only 5 to chose from, although I'm sure they will add more.

-Lack of races. This really bugs me and was a huge dissappointment, but in reality is no big deal.

-Quests are a complete boring ♥♥♥ drag, but not that bad if you enjoy killing things.

These final points are really up to you:
-Action vs Standard mode. Action mode is your Tera style of gameplay, and Standard is the, well, standard MMO wayof playing (think WoW). I personally play in Action mode on my wizard(even though the game suggests against it) and have not had any difficulty other than a few targetting bugs, until the aforementioned raid where it was impossible to do it in action mode. Some people absolutely hate the action mode, others don't so I'm leaving this point out of the list.

-Lack of content. Currently, there isnt much to do after you do all the dungeons, the raid, and tame all the familiars. HOWEVER, there is more content coming very soon.

-I have no idea what the story is about, some people say its good, others say its cliche, I wouldnt know because I dont care about the story.

TL;DR- Overall a solid game with a few server and game bugs that should be fixed once the game is officially launched. Definitely worth a shot. It's 100% free and not P2W.

This game is taking alot of heat on here for some issues users are having. Most of those technical issues I have not had so I am reviewing this based on MY experiences so far...

-There are some bugs, but again I have not seen nearly as many as others have had. The more serious of these issues is the lag. The lag can at times be terrible if not downright unplayable but its an issue that isnt keeping me from playing as much as I have.

-People have compared this to Tera and that is unfortunate because its not Tera, the mini map and full map are in the same style as Tera and thats where the similarities end.

-The combat can be a bit boring for the first few levels and after a few skills are added to your tool bar you are pretty good. The combat is one of the weaker aspects of this game but not unbearable.

-Graphically the game is pretty solid and with settings turned all the way up it is a fairly good looking game, but nothing to rave about.

-the Taming of familiars (animals, creatures, dragons...) is where this game shines. If you are an avid collector of mounts and pets in any other game you will love this part. There is an issue that you will run into after a short while and thats where the available slots are locked out. These slots need to be unlocked with Elune (in game currency). You can most certainly gain Elune while playing the game and without spending a dime to do so. BUT if you really want these slots opened you will need to buy some. They will be adding more ways of gaining Elune in game in the near future. And this is not something that you should consider game breaking as so far I have not spent a single penny.

- The in game store is full of cosmetics and small buffs. There is not (to this point) anything P2W in the store.

- The dungeons in game are pretty simple, can be done solo or in a group. However there are 3 tiers: Story mode, Elite and Heroic. Elite has 5 tiers of difficulty that you can select before entering and the drop rates reflect that. At current level you will need to be in a group to run Heroic modes.

- Plenty of daily quests

- Map is large enough for the time being with a new zone (large) that will be open later this month.

- Game is almost totally open world with a few intsanced areas here and there.

- No gender locked classes

Some of the more lacking things about this game:

- Level cap is currently level 25, which you will hit fairly quickly.

- There is NO archer class. Classes available are: Barbarian (warrior type), Guardian (sword/shield), Wizard (ranged DPS), Assasin (stealth, duh) and Priest (healer).

- There is only the human race :( male/female

- Character creation is a bit lacking but not terrible (not BDO creation or anything like that) its not all that bad but it isnt exactly great either.

All in all this MMO is not bad at all. Can be fun solo or with a group of friends. It doesnt do anything bad and it doesnt really excell at much either. But at the end of the day its a game thats very fun to play and can be addicting. It doesnt exactly hit a home run at the moment but its not a dud either.

I would recommend this game, I don't have much to say but everything I have seen has grown upon me so much that I have taken a break from tera (110 days played as a lancer alone) to play this guardian class and ride dragons and my nice horse and tank all the damage I can, I haven't got the greatest skill in this game yet but the taming and flying combat alone are so good to me. Please at least give it a try.

Personally, I did find myself liking this game quite a lot; the game has quite a few pros and cons but I did not find the cons ruining the gameplay for my experience.

- One thing is I would certainly not call this game 'Pay to win' as players can earn elluns(the in-game currency) in the game by completing various tasks. Personally, I would not mind paying for elluns as the game is worth it, but this is good news for players who don't wish to or can't afford to spend money.
Things you can get elluns from:
- Achievements
- Quests(If I remember correctly; may be wrong)
- Some boxes(No, not the loot boxes that drop from monsters)

- The combat is decent. I've seen people complain about the combat while not mounted but as an assasin, I found out that it requires more skill to fight than just spamming the attack buttons since I had to actually use the dashing abilities to dash through enemies and attack them from behind or just plain dodge the attacks they used. Now, mounted combat is a little easier considering it's more of just a system where you find a combo of attacks that works for you and then use it. While health potions are a must-have in the game, (going back to the elluns) it is easier to simply buy some 100% health restoration potions with elluns than buy the other health potions since they may prolong your death but don't actually prevent it.

- I really love the aspect of the game where you can collect the creatures and ride almost all of them. For some familiars, you need items to tame and I like this aspect because it makes it so that it requires more effort than clicking the taming button and attempting it. This way, some familiars are less seen than others since some people may not go through the work of getting the items needed. Also if you tame a familiar and then release it, it's still logged in the bestiary that you caught it. I enjoy this because it allows me to know which ones I've collected and which ones I still need to hunt after.

- The only real problems I have found is that the game can lag sometimes. But once again, that may just be because of my computer not being able to run the game well enough. I would definitely not call my computer a gaming computer. I may update this review once I end up buying an actual gaming computer since I plan on getting one soon. Keep in mind that this was my experience and other players' experiences may vary from my opinions.

First off let me start by saying I really enjoyed this game, as it has its charm in many ways.
Nice sized worlds, nice variaty of mobs and pets to capture as a mount or battle pet. half working alternate combat style, and a pretty decent story.
Sadly though all this is brought down by the typical MMO dead weights...

Typical crafting system
Constant grinding
Repeating fetch quests
Bugs in controls
Buggy Quests
Glitched parts of the map were you can fall through the world.
Invisible walls

These are nothing honestly compared to the plague of bots in the world.
In the week I played this game every day I spent the first 5 minutes blocking between 3-5 bots spamming the chat with links to sites selling gold. The intro into the game was great, the gameplay time wasn't bad and learning the game was quite easy with a half decent tutorial. As usual the first 8 levels are just about given to you with little effort allowing the game to really pull you in. Dungeons are setup so that you can do 3 different types of runs, Simple solo normal for those who just want to run through the story missions. Epic with 6 sub difficulties each giving higher chances for better loot drops and Heroic also with 5 sub difficulties for higher drop chance.
These are were a lot of people seem to be hiding with groups to get epic gear.
The cash shop... Sadly yes, most everything you could want is easily acquired via a payment of around 100 euros in NX. Hard to go into more detail that doesn't seem obvious, skins, extended slot bag sizes only found in the shop,

There are boss's in the world but sadly most outside the starting area are typically farmed by afk bots. A bot account that seems to do nothing but sit there and kill the boss over and over for gear and gold. This is topped off by the bots teleporting around to resources and collecting them as well. I call them bots as the names are your typical nonsense random grouping of letters. They never seem to communicate and always repeat the same actions. Really makes it hard to finish some quests that require you to pick up the loot from the boss as the first person that hits the boss is the one that takes the loot.

There are numerous complaints and reports on these individuals but in my week of playing these bots are in the same place every day during the same tme periods. There has been 1 update and 1 maintance which took 4 hours each down time.

In the end, the game has its potental along the lines of its action combat and collect them all pokemon mobs, but the game is sadly currently bogged down with bots making a lot of things unenjoyable and frustrating.
So is this a recommendation? Ehh... well aside from the thumbs up that I obviously gave it, if the admins or devs of the game get their head out of the butt for 2 minutes and do something against these botters and maybe start adding more content, I feel this is an entertaining MMO and should be checked out... but maybe wait for about a month or two after this review just in case... no need to ruin your gameplay due to these bots.

Ok, I REALLY TRIED with this game, I gave it all the chances in the world for it. So lets get this over with.

First major problem is Nexon, Nexon is a company that is a quick cash grab of IPs overseas to other locations.
In my experience they do not care whatsoever if the game works, balanced, or fair in the contests (which I will get to soon)

Second the videos for the game are so misleading, the ony differnce mounts have is can they fly or not. I also find it funny that while taming the mount has a fire breath that did like 1200 damage to me. I tame it and the same attack does now 100 damage. The balance for mounted combat is way off, mages for example who rely on intelligence have the worst on this area. to add salt to the wounds for mages most of the extra mounted abilites require target ground. that doesnt work if in the air. This game has so much promise that is lost.

Third, Let get back to Nexon for minute and one the main reasons I'm done with the game. They had a prelaunch beta and during which they had a contest, basically Tame 'em all. Well Nexon forgot to add the materials, the recipes for the taming tokens, to tame two of the creatures, Garme and Agnas. Both are Heroic and quite a challenge to tame. But all the other materils that were in the game were for players of 30ish level and had the worst drop rates. they didnt fix that till the last 2 days of the contest basically sabatoging anyone's attempt to complete the contest for the best of the prize a title that gives a 10% increase to taming. Another thing did was add the recipes for Agnas and Garme to a raid that is really tailored for level 28+, but the level cap was Level 25. Never felt so insulted, being exculed from the raid for being a mage as the entire fight was aerial mounted combat.
But do you wanna know what we got for our troubles, two costume pieces. Ok I can live that, but not that they only last 7 DAYS. So for supporting the game you get nothing.

And Finally, one thing ♥♥♥♥♥♥ me off and still ongoing as of writing this the the goldfarmer spamming chat. That was another thing that kept me from getting a raid together was you couldnt use chat to call out raid forming. Yes I know you have party ads, but not to many ppl used them or even knew of them. All it would hav took was adding the domain names to the filter and the problem would have been solved. Plus, anyone who bought from them deserves a kick to the nuts for saying is ok to do that.

Final verdict, as long as you dont put money into this game have at it. it is fun to play, BUT dont expect great things out of it. Pick it up play the game and set it down. there is nothing rewarding from this game to be had.

First thing to remember is that this is a free to play mmo. For all you guys who are moaning about having to grind exp and items to be able to capture the better creatures, you need to wake up as what's the point in having an epic flame dragon to ride if everyone can get it easily?

The quests do gather in one spot, but it takes about 10 minutes to clear a group of these quests. You are then given another group of quests in a different area of the map. So overall you are constantly changing zones fighting new enemies (and of course the hundreds of creatures you can tame!)

The mounts are pretty cool, having their own unique combat skills an you can obtain swords and crowssbows to fight on them constantly. You can turn your mounts into pets, they will then fight alongside you instead. This is hand as pets offer big bonuses for being summoned such as -10% cooldown on spells or +10% damage etc.

And of course flying! The only time you are restricted to not being able to fly around like a boss is in buildings and the first area. So all those people who are saying this need to get past the first area.

Regarding storage slots for your creatures you get 9 and can buy more if you wish. Although this seems few at first with so many creatures in the game. When you get into the second area you unlock being able to turn them into crystals (any previous megaten players loving this?) So you end up using alot of your creatures to boost your equipments stats anyway!

The combat system is amazing allowing normal mmo combat (select target and cast spell) and a dynamic combat system option (you can change between the two freely) which is amazing if you are a melee class.

I went into this game with an open mind, not expecting much from it.
But this game surpassed my expectations.

Riders of icarus is (to me) essentially a free version of world of warcraft, and is absolutely beautiful. With more attention to detail and completely owning it's style. The combat is fun, fast paced and calculated (all be it that once you know your combo sequence for your character at the level 25 cap it becomes a little repetitive), the amount you can do in this game just for entertainment is phenomenal. I personally spend my time finding recipes to tame high powered monsters (and they've just released a patch recently that enables you to get the ingredients to catch the only 2 heroic enemies in the game) which is exciting! Also, grinding does not feel repetitive and the quests are interesting (I have not experienced any quest bugs yet and i have 2 level 25 characters).

There are a few downsides to this game, but that is the case with most beta releases.

- The game can bug ocassionally (falling through landscapes) but it is very rare, I've only experienced it twice.
- The community in game is for the most part very approachable and supportive, but like most games from this genre, there are the trolls who ninja loot dungeons (so check loot distribution first before you assist in a dungeon).
- Loot generally gets spread evenly due to the looting system (need or greed being the most popular) only letting those who actually need certain class specific gear roll for it.

All in all, this game is beautiful, fun, friendly, visually spectacular, and completely free (the money you put into the game doesn't buy you any advantages, just skins - which I believe is a fair way for developers to earn money instead of forcing you to pay). I love this game, and will probably pump many more hours into it. My only suggestion would be to follow the World of warcraft formula by introducing new races with passives, for a bit more diversity - as everyone being human gets a bit boring. 8.5/10, Would recommend.
