The average day for a TF2 player

-Join pl_Snowycoast, RED has 4 Snipers, 3 Spies, 3 Engies, a Scout. Go Soldier
-About 2 kids on mic squealing about how CoD sucks and their playerbase is trash
-Get killed by crits
-Get killed by bodyshots from Snipers that our 3 spies apparently can't kill
-Manage to get their med at 80% with an airshot, taunt because it was awesome
-"Wow a taunt what are you? fukkin 12?"
-Get sticky critted by the same guy and he taunts too
-Lose the game because all engies built on top of each other
-Decide to use my ToD tickets and play MVM a while
-Pick 2 cities because it's the only mode other people play.
-Have 20 tours, get a Demo, Scout, Heavy and Engie with 150+ and a medic with 3.
-Medic heals only Heavy and Demo so I use the black box for some health.
-Get kicked before we start round 2 for not doing the meta.
-Join another round
-Everyone else is 0-5 tours. 2 are Pyros in a map with no tanks
-Ask the 0 tour Pyros to switch, One goes Sniper, the other doesn't respond at all
-Well he isn't listening, better kick.
-"WTF Y R U KICKING ME" "Because you don't listen"
-Votekick fails but he ragequits anyways
-Get another guy who goes engie and does well
-Takes like 4 hours but we finish.
-For my topscoring and patience I get a Boston Basher KS kit and a kukri spec fabricator... worthless.
-"Im never doing this again, it's a waste of brain cells, time and money"
-Buys 4 more tickets an hour later
-Go to a random trade server to sell that trash you got from MVM.
-See 10 people buying cards for 1 scrap each.
-3 people in chat arguing about what fanbase is the most cancerous, meanwhile the mod is busy banning a guy for selling a 1.33 ref hat for 1.44 rather than monitering the mic.
-Get a trade notif... A guy asking for my strange Sniper skin and offering crates
-Get another trade notif... trade holds
-Get another trade notif.. oh wait no, someone recieved a Gold Frying Pan AND IT WAS THE ****ING PYRO NOOB FROM EARLIER
-Invite some friends to play in the comp beta as solo queueing = instant loss
-Get about 3 people and ready up
-half an hour and 5 abandons later we get a match
-VS all wood ranked noobs, we win in like 2 minutes and gain almost no rank
-2 streamers, a hacker and a pro player, and our other 2 have like 60 hours. we lose along with half our rank bar
-Group disbands
-Go to the TF2 forums out of boredom
-Spam thread, "Soldier is OP" Thread, "Pyro is OP" Thread "CoD kids suck" Thread
-Omg an actual discussion about TF2 and suggestions on how to improve it, cool
-Comments include "Pointless thread pls close" "The mods will be here soon" "Don't post here it attracts more attention" And so on.
-Realize that there is no sane part of TF2 anywhere
-Wake up and repeat cycle.

The hats are cool though so 10/10

Few years ago, I asked my friend to play Team Fortress 2. However he said that he doesn't like the game, stating that the game looks cartoonish and he doesn't like its gameplay.

Last week, he asked me to play Overwatch.

After Playing this game for 4000+ Hours now, I can definitely say that this game is addicting.

Do you like FPS games with normal gamemode like Control Points, Attack and Defense, Capture the Flag, King of the Hill and much more?
Do you like Class based games?
Do you like being able to Customize your characters to your liking (and lose all your money in the process)?

Then TF2 will get your attention.

Being a 9 Class based First Person Shooter with Comic Art this Game offers huge variety at all times. With over 250+ free unlockable weapons and 1000+ Cosmetic items this game always offers something diffrent in case you get bored. The game tended to update regularly however as years passed Valve has taken it slow with updating the game. In the few recent Months however Valve seems to be returning to TF2, updating it more often with unexpected changes and with Competitive Matchmaking on the corner even trys to balance the game more for both Public and Competitive game mode.
Being a Free to Play game that Valve has to make money with somehow this Game obviously features microtransactions, however everything (Aside from Keys for Crates) that is in the Shop can be found during normal gameplay eliminating Pay to Win. (Crates and Keys are used to get Strange Quallity items and Unusual items that fuction identically to their Unique counterpart. Just with a side effect such as Counting the Kills you make with that weapon (Strange) or adding a cool effect to you Cosmetics and even Weapons (Unusual))

This game is a lot of fun Playing alone. However it's even more fun Playing it with friends.
Even though I've stopped playing the game at this point because I think its time for me to move on. I can still highly recommend this game to anyone. It's was fun while it lasted, thanks to everyone who played this game with me, I'll never forget the time I put into this game.

Peace, may the Phlog Pyro be with you.

Team Fortress 2 (TF2) is one the games that you really have to try, it is Free to Play (F2P) and has an outstanding unique first-person shooter (FPS) style. Unlike most FPS that is played competitively, it focuses more on fun and especially humor. TF2 has a various types of character classes and game modes, a bunch of maps and hats (yes you read it right, HATS!).

Gameplay

TF2 is fun yet a challenging game, it has a rich gameplay and a huge community. It is composed of two opposing factions represented by the name of these companies, the Reliable Excavation & Demolition (RED) and Builders League United (BLU) which are mercenaries hired by two opposing brothers. Players can choose any classes, characters and the side they represent to compete against the opposing team through certain missions/objectives per game mode.

Gamemodes:

Unlike most FPS games, TF2 has a lot of good game modes, every game mode has a different and unique play style which makes the game interesting. Other game modes are still in beta stage thus small bugs might occur but overall it has a decent maps, objectives and team play. Here's a list of game modes and its respective mission/objective:
  • Capture the Flag - Each team has their own intelligence briefcases that they have to protect from the opposing team, the main objective is to capture enemy's intelligence until they reach the game's capture limit.
  • Control Point - Game mode based on control points where you capture enemy points and protect each point from being captured.
  • Territorial Control - Game mode based on "point to point" where you must capture the enemy point and defend yours, points gets randomly selected in a different place to protect or to capture.
  • Payload - A series of checkpoints where you have to get the cart to the final point while the enemies tries to stop you.
  • Arena - A tactical mode whereas teams fight under pressure in a smaller maps for shorter matches. A control point is found at the center of the map, where you have to capture without being killed.
  • King of the Hill - like the "Arena", it focuses on a single control point where you have to capture till 3 minutes or defend the point before the enemy takes full control of the point.
  • Payload Race - Each team will be given a cart for teams to push and compete and defend the point against the other team.
  • Medieval Mode - There will be a number of points like the "Control Point" but both teams can only choose from a set list of allowed weapons.
  • Special Delivery - A unique game mode where both teams must capture a neutral briefcase, the team who takes it first must bring it to a specified area of the map while the opposing team must stop them defending the area. Once the briefcase drops, enemy team can't take it but rather defend the briefcase from being taken.
  • Mann vs. Machine - Another unique game mode where a team of three or six player must defend the Mann Co's strongholds from a wave of raging robots that carries a bomb.
  • Robot Destruction - A beta map where teams must destroy the opposing team's robots and collect the Power Cores to earn points. After gaining points, a Reactor Core appears that can be stolen by the opposing team.
  • Mannpower - Teams must capture the enemy's intelligence briefcase while adding a twist in game with grappling hooks and 12 unique power-ups.
  • PASS Time - Another beta map that has a football like game play. Team must take hold of the jack to throw it to the opposing team's goal.
  • Player Destruction - A game mode created by the community where players must collect bottles of beer from killed enemies and jumping to the UFO after. Once a player gets killed they will drop their held beers that can be taken by both teams.
The best map for beginners would be King of the Hill, its simple yet fun.

Classes and Characters:

Most FPS games focuses more on weapons and less on characters, in TF2 you can get to choose 9 different characters with unique roles and special abilities. The game is created to have fun thus expect a unique approach on certain abilities. Here's a list of classes and characters with their respective roles and characteristics:

  • Offense (good for veterans)
  1. Scout - A fast and agile character that can capture and pushes cart faster than any characters, has a special ability that can jump twice in mid air. Equipped with scatter gun, pistol and a baseball bat.
  2. Soldier - Slower but durable character that uses a rocket launcher, shotgun and a shovel. He can use his rocket launcher to launch himself into the air (not into the outer space) with the cost of his health for a better aiming with style (seems ironic).
  3. Pyro - A pyromaniac that uses flamethrower, fire axe and a shotgun, they can blast it to an ally to extinguish fire or use it to an enemy to gain distance.
  • Defense (good for advanced players)
  1. Demoman - A character that uses explosives to defend an area. Equipped with granade, sticky bomb and a bottle.
  2. Heavy - Slow but can sustain and deal a huge amount of damage. Equipped with an enormous mini-gun, a shotgun and its own fist to strike.
  3. Engineer - A character that can build and destroy machines capable of defending with sentry gun, a teleport machine and a health and ammo dispenser. Equipped with a Shotgun, a pistol and a wrench.
  • Support (good for beginners)
  1. Medic - A doctor that his main role is to heal his allies, healing allies can grant ÜberCharge that can boost him and his healed ally. Equipped with Medi gun, syringe and a bonesaw.
  2. Sniper - A sniper that can kill enemies with one shot from afar. Equips with a sniper rifle (what would you expect, a laser beam?), a submachine gun and a kukri (a starter pack good for campers).
  3. Spy - A character that sneaks into the enemy's back and strikes with a knife, has a special ability that can turn himself invisible to the enemies eyes and can destroy machines easily. Equipped with a pistol, a watch that can make himself invisible, an elctronic sapper that can take down machines easily, a device hidden in a cigarette case that cloak himself into an enemy character, a revolver and a butterfly knife or balisong (originated from the Philippines) that can kill with one stab if used properly. (absolutely not for newbies)
Classes, Characters and team can be changed while the game is in progress. This can be done by pressing ", (comma)" to change class and character and by pressing ". (period)" to change team.

Controls

Just like most FPS games, TF2 uses the standard keyboard set-up which is the basic WASD (forward, move left, backward and move right) movement, R to reload, Q for last weapon used and etc. Mouse is used to aim (point), shoot (left-click), use every character's special skill (right-click) and to change weapon (mouse wheel up or down). The controls are smooth and comfortable, weapons can be changed through the keyboard with keys: 1, 2 and 3/4, 5 and 6 or through the mouse button by scrolling up or down.

Pros
  • Artistic Character Design
  • Free and easy to play
  • Up to 3 different classes and 9 different characters to choose from
  • Humorous and fun without pressure
  • Good reward system
Cons
  • New players might find this game challenging
  • You might get bored after some time
Conclusion

The game is good to have fun and to kill some time but with more FPS games coming around its hard to keep up. I recommend this game for non competitive ones and for those who just want to play a good F2P FPS game, it has smooth and comfortable controls with decent character model and animation. Overall, this game is unique and better than any other FPS games, it has a strong game play and outstanding maps but if you are into a more competitive side, this game is simply not for you but absolutely worth the try.

Team Fortress 2 is a team-based first-person shooter multiplayer video game developed and published by Valve. Released in 2007, Team Fortress 2 is the second most popular game, amassing 20.3 million registered users who have played over 1.4 billion hours. Similar to its predecessors, Team Fortress 2 is focused around two opposing teams (RED and BLU) competing for a combat-based principal objective which can range from capturing the flag to pushing the cart. The marriage of the highly stylised retro-spy presentation and the fast-paced action from each game mode provides a refined and approachable game-play which results in a gorgeous and endlessly fun experience, even when you’re losing.

Team Fortress 2 features nine classes, categorised into offence, defence, and support roles. Each class has strengths and weaknesses and must work with other classes to be efficient and accomplish goals, encouraging strategy and promoting teamwork. The unique classes the game offers stand out with distinct personalities and fulfil specific roles whilst simultaneously being flexible to adapt to fluctuating situations, therefore, the applicability of each class persists throughout each game mode regardless of the predicament.

The diversity of Team Fortress 2 is further emphasized once users have upgraded to a premium account as they will have access to several perks including the ability to trade their items to other players. The trading community of Team Fortress 2 is a completely dissimilar experience to the usual frag-fest. Not only will purchasing hats enhance the appearance of each playable class, but continuous profit and investment of items can also introduce the perspective of being productive and efficient whilst simultaneously dominating your opponents’ in-game. Don’t believe me? In 2011, the hat economy of Team Fortress 2 was valued at approximately $50 million.

Unfortunately this isn’t a perfect game and, as expected, has several defects. One of the typical criticism towards this first-person shooter is the community it has built which is perceived as ‘toxic’. Although this class-based classic is still persevering into its seventh year thanks to its lively and creative community, I must admit from personal experience that on some servers you will encounter players who will berate you for unwitting breaches of etiquette. However, this misleading stigma is diminished by the majority of players who simply make the experience more enjoyable and congenial (Shout-out to the (>NUTTER’S<) at Lazytown – You guys are the best!). Just remember: if it weren’t for the deep knowledge and passion from the community, this game may well have dwindled away and passed into obsolescence years ago.

In conclusion, this is a game which I can simply describe as fun. The combination of the whacky, off-the-wall cartoon style and the perfect integration of classes, level design and accessibility provides an exceptional class-based multiplayer action. And noticing how the game ingeniously frames your relationship with other players makes me comfortable giving this game a 9/10.

I have playd years of Avp1, avp2 and Counterstrike. before i tryed this out. At first i left the game after about 30h, but when i started playing this again, i noticed how amazing game it is.

The humor in this game is best ive seen in ANY fps multiplayer, and once you have played for while you can notice communications while playing whitout anyone even using any words. (people use voice communications/gestures to really complex lengths) (+you can start massive sandvich eating fests whit pootis heavies, and throw freakking ♥♥♥♥ at people before killing and taunting at them xD)

But it isnt just about the humor, when trying to become good in this game, youll notice how there are skills in this game that other games of the same gengre dont have as much. Learning these skills, (rocket jumping, spys mindtricks, building placements etc. is extremely hard but rewarding) Also the character responsibilty in competetive game is quite massive.

And then there is the humongously large itemworld, you can create character sets from so many items, that its extremely rare to find someone whit exact same set.
You can earn items by random drops by just playing, and crafting them to better ones later on. Or you can play MvM tours to get quite rare ones, or open boxes.
And the best part is that the items do not give you better stats, instead they give you option to play differently.

Summary: Youll get grazy action like no other, skills hilarious comedy, the community is the best ive seen in a game this popular, and free updates that have been distributed for many years.

Best of all, its Fun to play and competetive at the same time.
Cheers GabeN

DISCLAIMER: I suck at this game, but I have played long enough to at least get an idea of how this community behaves. Not much different from other Valve games, to be honest.

Do you just looooove hats? Do you spend money like a gambling addict? Are you an impulsive buyer? Do you like crates? Do you like keys for crates? Do you like buying keys and hats? Well guess what?! You can do all of these things AS LONG AS YOU HAVE MONEY TO PAY.

With that out of the way, let's just say this is an incredibly chaotic, team-based fps with the most bizarre community you will ever meet. But it's not just like any fps, it's an fps that has specific characters designed for specific roles! Here are the following characters you can play as:

1) The scout. Basically a short, skinny, big-mouthed guy with a New York/Boston/New Jersey accent who's always the first to die. Nevermind the shotguns and baseball bats he uses for combat, he'll just end up running around like a spazz and die afterwards, most likely not even knowing where he's going. Kind of similar to mellings jumping off a cliff. If you're a spazz, this class is for you.

2) Heavy. This guy is about 7 feet tall, probably 400+ pounds, has an obsession for sandwhiches, and speaks with a Russian accent. He's got a minigun but he's very slow, and so is his brain. If you're a complete lazy ♥♥♥ who doesn't like to do anything else besides holding the left mouse button and shooting bullets like a complete idiot, this class is for you. Just watch out for snipers.

3) Soldier. This guy is a true 'Merican hero. He runs around with a rocket launcher, endlessly firing explosive projectiles at the enemy in the hopes of intimidating them with his truely awesome firepower of 'Merican freedom. However, the downside of this strategy is that his rockets are slow moving and always end up arriving late at their destination. However, that doesn't matter, because that downside is the expression of a true 'Merican. If you just want to run around like a complete ♥♥♥♥♥ and randomly fire explosive rockets because you don't what the hell you should be doing on this game, this class is for you.

4) Sniper. This man is an expert at ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ off the enemy team. If you're a lazy ♥♥♥ but prefer to take out your enemies in style, the sniper is for you. Just camp in a highly secluded spot, wait for your target, and boom! Headshot! If that doesn't happen (which it most likely won't unless you're a pro), you'll just end up staring at the scenery, waiting for an enemy that won't show up in your sights, being a completely useless asset to your team. Chances are that if you've been distracted enough, you'll get killed by a spy or another sniper.

5) Spy. This man is ANOTHER expert at ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ off the enemy team. Great for players who are trolls at heart. However, if you're not good at stealth, you'll just look like a complete idiot playing as this class. Just run around with a knife and backstab anybody and enjoy the angry expressions of players who were outsmarted by you. Great class for sociopaths!

6) Pyro. Yet again, another ideal class for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ off the enemy team. Also ideal for players who couldn't hit the broad side of a barn, because this guy has a flamethrower. Just run around like an idiot, wave those flames around, and hope somebody dies. Great for players who really don't know what the ♥♥♥♥ to do, similar to the soldier.

7) Engineer. Once again, another ideal class for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ off the enemy team! Plus, if you're a real lazy ♥♥♥, this class is the laziest of asses! You don't even have to fight anyone! Just build a dispenser, teleporter, or turret for your team! The enemy team will utterly hate you for having been killed by your own self-crafted turrets. Your own team will also ♥♥♥♥♥ at you constantly because you didn't put a nice teleporter near their spawn because they're lazy asses like you.

8) The demo man. He's a black guy with a Scottish accent. He's basically the politically correct class. You can enjoy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ off the enemy team by positioning mines that explode at the push of a button in strategic areas. You can also hit people with a broken bottle that previously was used to hold alcohol! Because Scottish/Irish stereotypes are absolutely non-racist if the character isn't white. Do you like Michael Bay movies/explosions? This is for you.

9) Medic. Are you absolutely useless with the other classes? Do you just suck ♥♥♥ at everything? Well try this and you won't suck ♥♥♥ anymore! Just babysit your whiny, stupid team that cries out "medic!" five million times and you'll be a hero to everyone, except for that one guy who's still ♥♥♥♥♥♥ off with you for not healing him when his original hp was 195 and you didn't heal it all the way back to 200.

And don't forget the community! Filled with bronies, squeakers, weeaboos, and grouchy, basement-dwelling neck beards who argue with each other about anything ranging from politics, the best way to winning the game, and who is the best/worst player on their team. Take part in exciting vote kick elections that result from these arguments!

But just remember that this game is supposed to be fun.
