“We currently have a complete game - the original that we released when we started Pixeljam, plus a few new features. We have a clear path to a significant update, and we'd like to get people involved as we journey from version 1.0 to 1.5.

We are also trying something new, creating a detailed progress report at http://gammabros.com so you can see exactly where we are at, where we were and how our estimates are holding up. Neat, huh?

-Increased variation in enemy formations
-New bosses
-New animations on the title screen
-"Buddy pod" that follows you around and helps you out (similar to the 'option' in classic shmups).
-New weapons
-New playable characters (those 2 little funny dudes that appear in the hangar)
-Coin magnet powerup”

“We created a tool specifically for this purpose. We used it in a previous campaign (pixeljam.com/dinorun) and we've improved it since then.

-A detailed ROADMAP that breaks down the journey from 1.0 to 1.5 into multiple major MILESTONES - http://www.gammabros.com
-Each Milestone has many TASKS. Every task has an estimated time to complete, and we also record the actual time it took, so people can get a feel for how our estimates are working out. We'll comment on the tasks that take longer than expected and explain why.
-The roadmap will also be combined with a FAQ section so that people can get important questions answered publicly, and a discussion board under that for general feedback / chat / banter.

We also plan to make this tool public for other people to use with their Early Access campaigns. Hit us up if you are interested! :)”

The State Of The Bros

Hello All,

I know it's been an extremely long time since the last update. Here's what's going on:

1) Gamma Bros actually is still being worked on, if you can believe it.

2) The lack of game updates, or any sort of update is my fault, not the rest of the team - I got swallowed up by a side-project and by the time I emerged, WAY too much time had gone by. It's a funny thing, that TIME.

3) We are going to share some progress on one of the major new features soon. I won't say when because it probably won't be correct.

4) Everyone that bought the game has been incredibly patient and understanding, and I'm actually amazed no one has complained yet!

Remember the GAMMA BROS? If you do, you're probably old like Pixeljam. If you don't, then welcome aboard! This is the game that solidified Pixeljam's resolve to be the best damn pixel-wielding indie game company we could be, and we're on a mission to MAKE THE SOLAR SYSTEM GREAT AGAIN.

The Gamma Bros are the hardest working mixed-race twin brothers of the near future, and they are about to embark on a commute of epic proportions...


THE ORIGINAL STORY

The Gamma Brothers spend their days working on a huge space station near Jupiter. No one works harder than the Gamma Brothers. What could they possibly be working on? Something very important, no doubt.

The Gamma Brothers also understand the importance of not working. Every day at quitting time they hop into their commuter vehicles for the long, difficult journey back to earth. Every day on their way home, they are attacked by ships and creatures of unknown origin. Every day, to and from work, they must survive many vicious and clever alien attacks!

It is up to YOU to guide the Gamma Brothers home. Prepare yourself for the ultimate space commute battle! After all, it is dinner time on earth, and the Gamma Brothers' families will not be pleased if you don't get Buzz and Zap home safely.


THE PLAN

We're releasing Gamma Bros on Early Access as VERSION 1.0. Watch us magically transform the game into VERSION 1.5, with all new weapons, bosses, playable characters and more. Track our progress through a deliciously transparent ROADMAP on our site at http://pixeljam.com/gammabros.

FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION! For us, and the Bros. Help them get home in time for dinner, and help us make the game better than it's ever been before....
