TPAoE Demo/'Studio Tour' Now Available

The Preposterous Awesomeness of Everything now has a weird demo/'studio tour' thing (to be honest I'm not sure exactly what it is, but, whatever it is, IT'S FREE!)

'This 'studio tour' gives players the chance to explore the TPAoE 'set', talk to the 'actors' and see the 'set designers' in action while things are being prepared for paying customers.'

AND - as if that wasn't enough(!) - to celebrate this arguably-somewhat-confusing development the full game will be 30% OFF UNTIL THE END OF THE WEEK!

What a time to be alive...

Reviews

“The Preposterous Awesomeness of Everything may at times be too pleased with it’s eviscerating critique of Western civilization but this does not change the fact that this short, albeit inspired adventure game packs essential truths of life in it’s two hours. Ideal drinking companion for malcontents, loners and assorted Enemies of the Majority.”
79/100 – Ragequit

“The Preposterous Awesomeness of Everything is a strange little game that provides a satirical commentary on society today in both smartly subtle and knock-you-on-the-head obvious ways.”
70/100 – Gaming Trend

About This Game

The Preposterous Awesomeness of Everything is a satirical point-and-click adventure game, about progress, politics and propulsive nozzles. It features a traditional verb-based interface, with updated verbs (including 'befuddle', 'disrespect' and 'pray-for'), unique collage-based art and ~15,000 words (3-4 hours?) of intellectually stimulating satirical shenanigans.

The preposterous Awesomeness of Everything is about an apparently primitive society, attempting to work together to build a space rocket. It follows these people, from disordered chaos (the past), through a disgusting and distorted and horrible and hilarious kind of faux-democracy (the present (SATIRE! Amirite?!?!)), into the unknowable, irrelevant emptiness of outer space (the future).

Along the journey players will encounter a host of colourful characters (including the mysterious Man with the Little Pencil, the superfluous Man in the Wren Suit and the fabulous Helen), they will solve a variety of engaging puzzles, and they will be forced into making a number of difficult moral decisions, with potential disastrous consequences!

Features:

  • Traditional verb-based interface
  • Updated verbs (including 'befuddle', 'disrespect' and 'pray-for')
  • Unique collage-based art
  • A cameo appearance from Felix Kjellberg (PewDiePie)
  • ~15,000 words (3-4 hours?) of intellectually stimulating satirical shenanigans
  • A joke about white blood cells
  • Prohibitively experimental electronic music
  • Irrelevant duck

I kind of loved this game, I think this game must be one of my guilty pleasures! I enjoy point and click adventures and I hadn't played a point and click game for a while. So maybe that is why I really loved this one so much.

I think this game is original and unique with an equally unique and really effective art style. The story is fun and satirical, but in an intelligent way. It feels very well written and crafted and not just random silly ideas thrown together in a rush.

Point and click games can get very frustrating as it is very slow to walk from one area to another and to another to try different things. As this game is short, it does not get too frustrating.

The puzzles are pretty logical which I really like. Often point and click adventures with a comedy element have some comedy illogical solutions which can spoil the experience for me. When you get stuck in that type of game you don't know if the solution is so stupid you need to look it up. The only thing that caught me out was a timed puzzle. You need to click through the dialogue quickly to be able to perform the next action in time.

I would totally recommend this game to any point and click adventure fan. There is even a demo you can try. It took me about 2 or 3 hours to finish and I did try out every dialogue branch. Some people may want to take that into account.

I think the art style is fun and original and I would love to see some trading cards added to the game!

The game is exactly as weird as the screenshots imply; an undeniably strange experience, seemingly existing for comedic and satirical purposes more than anything else. If you're not expecting much of a story then this is an amusing, short experience. A unique and occassionally funny experience, which I'm only recommending on that basis.

Weird game, interesting plot and original presentation with some funny moments.
Puzzles are very easy and art style is , well, different.
A just think it's too short, not even 2 hours to reach the end.
I think it's worth a try for people seeking something different but be weary that it reaches the conclusion fast.

A truly ridiculous point & click adventure game, which isn't a bad thing at all. Fans of the genre will find a lot of novelty here, as the game takes some creative risks you don't see very often. Unexpected themes include oddly-child-friendly casual nudity, existential/societal angst, meaningful playing at dress-up, and amateur planetary exodus.

This sounds like nonsense, and it is, but it all comes together into a package that works surprisingly well.

If you don't agree, at least there will be plenty of marshmallows. Go for it!
