Nice game! It is well designed (gameplay and levels), and I appreciate the fact that new levels are more puzzle oriented, and less demanding on pure execution, than in "ten second ninja" (the first version of the game, which levels are included in ten second ninja X btw).

This game was reviewed using a code sent by the developer/publisher but this did not effect my opinion on the game.

10 Second Ninja X is an action platformer game, developed by Four Circle Interactive and published by Curve Digital, releasing on PC, PS4 Vita and Xbox One in July 2016. The previous game in the series, 10 Second Ninja which was widely accepted by players as being an arcade style rushing title.

Ninja X takes on the same gameplay aspects as the first. You play as a ninja (oddly enough) and you have to take out various enemies in a timely fashion whilst traversing sometimes deadly platforming stages. The game is partly a sequel to the first, but also an improved version too. You can take out enemies either by using the ninja’s katana or throwing knives. Each level must be completed within 10 seconds, again the devs are really good at naming their game here…! The fast paced game play means you will continously fail a level until everything just clicks into place perfectly and you have your route planned out to a tee. I must warn you though 10 Second Ninja X is a very rage inducing game, there were times when I had to step away from the keyboard just to take a minute to breathe before starting again. You will easily become infuriated at the punishingly difficult stages combined with the 10 second time limit.

The game also has a gating system, so you can’t just simply breeze through the game by only just passing each stage by completing it in 9.50 seconds; you have to earn a substantial amount of stars in order to get onto the next stage of levels. I believe on average it works out as needing to get a 2 star rating on each stage which is by no means an easy feat. I struggled with getting one most of the time! A huge benefit to the game is that it is very easy to reset a level, if you mess up right at the start you can reset the stage instantly; this can sometimes be a bad thing though as I found myself resetting the level when I didn’t mean to.

Ninja X has the same art style as the first, very crisp looking cartoon graphics which looks just gorgeous. The character sprites are also very well designed and easily one of the best aspects of the visual look to the game. Environments are bright and vibrant with colour and different tones which gives you a sense of exploration throughout the game too. Soundtracks and sound effects are brilliant too; they keep in with the theme as being fast and chaotic giving you that complete immersion effect.

As I said above, the game is gruesomely hard, and every second counts towards the greater goal. Sometimes the path that you need to take to complete a stage may seem completely obvious, but that is not always the best route, you need to be a patient fellow in order to beat this game, I am a mere peasant and only on the second stage and you can see just by the amount of hours I have already put into this game that it is in no way an easy task to manage. You can watch hints and tips from Youtube videos online in order to find the best path, but actually executing them is another task in itself.

The game will have a large amount of replayability even after you manage the mammoth task of 100 levels, you can go back and try your best to three star each level and compete with friends on the leaderboards. If you find this game to be right up your street, prepare yourself for a bargain in terms of $ to hour ratio.

I only had one technical issue, and that was with the game not picking up my controller straight away. For some reason whenever I booted the game up, it would think the active controller would be “port 3” which isn’t exactly helpful as you have to change this manually to “Port 1” in order to get your controller to work. Pro tip; don’t even attempt this game if you don’t have a controller.

10 Second Ninja X is an improved version over the original game in every way. You won’t really miss much skipping the first game, $10.99 for a game of this quality and amount of content is easily a fair price to pay. It definitely will only appeal to a certain audience so I would advise people try out the demo before you make the plunge in purchasing the full game.

This game is Worth The Price, there are over 100 levels (that’s going to take it time) I hope they add a dlc for more levels and more story as I think I will spend some money on that and maybe add what happens in the first game as I dint have the chance to play it but to the devs well done.

Alright!
I was provided this game for free, But this doesn;t affect my views, ok ? :3

I LOVED THIS GAME!
The charming visuals, story, lol... and the characters.
The tongue-in-cheek humor, the self-aware parodies to other games (The villain looks A TAD familiar, lool)
I love how all of this comes together.

HOWEVER... I got a bit frustrated all the levels are just 10 second puzzles, aimed at speed and precision.

I understand that's the point of 10 second ninja, (hence the title) But With all this charm, setting, characters, and humor?
This could easily be a side scrolling, metroid-vania style game.
Im hoping the devs will make this , I would LOVE to see a fully fleshed out game complaete with wacky story in the form of somethign episodic, liek a mario game ^^=

I DO enjoy the 10 second challenges, I love how the legacy levels are brought back with the snappy new visuals.

And I LOVE NUNNAGEDDON!
make that a full game, too!

to wrap it up, great game if you like small bursts of gameplay without being foced into playing, or if you liek to challenge yourself (and the world) to get the best times!

I would NOT recommend this for casual gamers, they will miss the point. ( But yea, make it a side scrollingplatformer, and you have tripled your audience! make it happen ,guys!

EDIT:

The developer has addressed my only reservation about the game and I now can completely recommend it. Thanks to Four Circle Interactive for being so engaged with the community!

Very fun game, especially if you like trying to beat a level as fast as possible and figuring out routes.

I have one complaint (that hopefully could be addressed): The screen flashes way too much. It's hard for my friends to watch and can be kind of taxing on me too. I see the appeal of it and I certainly wouldn't want it removed, but adding an option to disable screen flashes would be nice for both people like me and people who are epeleptic.

I would recommend this game if you do not mind screen flashes and love platformers with tight controls.

Try demo. If you enjoy demo, the game is more of the same content with slightly more depth and variety, so the game will likely be worth your time (especially for the launch 40% discount, I personally put several hours into the demo alone attempting to get high scores, although if speedrunning isn't your thing this kind of game will have considerably less replayability).

10 seconds ninja x is a puzzle platformer. It’s a sequel to 10 Seconds Ninja which was released back a couple of years ago. In this game you must complete your objective within 10 seconds as the name of the game suggests. This can make for some very fun strategic and twitch gameplay. Not only your jumps/attacks be quick, they must also be accurate and one wrong move will have you starting the stage over again.
Graphics:

The graphics are pretty plain and simple. The game is pretty and nicely colorful. The game is locked at 60 FPS and I got 60 FPS throughout the whole time I played.

Sound:

The music is okay too. It keeps you entertained. Nothing to write home about. The sound itself is good though, the jumping, sword strikes and the shorukens sound pretty nice.

Gameplay:

The game's story is that the evil Captain Greatbeard has kidnapped you and your friends from a forest and into his ship. This is where your adventure begins. The gameplay is very simple. You are a ninja and you must destroy these robots by Captain Greatbeard in each level to progress. You’re given 10 seconds to complete your objective. In between the missions you can go around the ship and talk to other people who have been kidnapped too.

You have jump and double jump. You get a sword weapon and 3 shoryukens which you must use wisely. Not only do you have to be accurate with your movement you must also strategize your kill order. This is very important as a wrong kill order will waste your time. You must figure out the most efficient way to kill the robots. In the later levels new things are introduced such as robots who only die to shoryukens and can kill you if you go near them as they are surrounded by a short electric field, switches which must be pressed in the right order, etc.

Each level costs around 20 stars to activate so you must get at least 2 star score in every stage of the levels. Getting 3 stars can be very difficult as I wasn’t able to get 3 stars in any of the 3 level stages I played so far. Each level contains 10 stages and you can earn stars when you finish the stage. The quicker you are the more stars you get. The game will tell you to beat x number of seconds for the next star level. These stars are important as you cannot progress to the next level until you have the required number of stars.
A short gameplay can be found below:

Conclusion:

This game can be extremely addictive. Once you get hooked you keep on playing and you just want to beat the level you’re stuck in. The game can be frustrating at times so this game is mostly going to be for hardcore players who love a challenge. As of writing this review the game is 40% off, so it’s a good bargain in my opinion.

If at first you don't succeed - try, try, and try again.

... and again.

... and again.

... and again.

And eventually you will do the first level in less than 1.60 seconds.
