Why Early Access?

“We want to Give you access to the game in its early stages, this means that you will be able to use our forums and steams discussions page to help us forge this game into what the community wants, it also helps us with fixing bugs. We will only release in early access when the game is playable, we want to start with a working game and leave early access with the game the community wants and helped forge.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“1 Year Expected, could change based on if our team grows or if we experience any road bumps on the way.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We will have many new features added into the game at that point and these features will generally be what the community requested, features like hunting etc is what we hope to implement. The game will also be more optimized and more use friendly, this is the jump we hope to make.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Think of it as being an Open Beta, we will have the base game done but extra features will be added in during this time and we will also be polishing the game as well.

Crafting Update/Announcement! #AfterShock


First of all before getting into our update we would like to thank the following people for support us on patreon so early on!

Now onto the Major Announcement!
After recieving countless messages and comments about the ongoing idea of crafting we have decided to do it, this is a big deal to us as it changes the way the game can be progressed when surviving in game (Do not we arent saying this is original as it has been done before).

We have designed a system which will be accessed on the main inventory hud on the left hand side, this system will have different tabs like:


Thank you so much for staying tuned, we will either make a new post or update this one once the UI is finalized and ready to showcase! This also means we are one step closer to the gameplay reveal, we want to explain why there hasnt been any yet, as some of you know around 8 - 10 months ago we switched from Unity to Unreal Engine 4, this was large leap for us and alot of people left the team due to not wanting to switch, this was a struggle and alot of progress wasnt made for the first 7 months, only in the last 3 months has the progress been skyrocketing forward! Thats why we appreciate all the patience, i also want to note to people that we havent set any date and none has been set for the past several months, we only have goal dates we strive to reach but they arent guarenteed hense why we dont share those dates with you! We are doing our best here to make the game we all want, so we appreciate all your patience and kindness for the past year.

About This Game

Created and Developed by indie company Focus Studios, AfterShock is an Open World/MMO/FPS game set in a zombie-fuelled, world in the Shetland Isles. Loot, Build, fight and confront your enemies whether it be zombies or survivors.

The game takes place after a major virus called the Earthquake occurred. This outbreak quickly spread across the world bringing human life down to near extinction. The people who survived named the new era the Aftershock. The game is set on you being a soldier fighting for one of two factions: The Faithless and The Guardians

At the beginning of the game, you are sent out on a mission to rebuild the Shetlands and clear out the infected but resources are tight and you will mostly have to fend for yourself. The player will spawn in a C130 and be presented with a 20 square kilometre map to explore with friends and survive the deadly infected and dangerous enemy faction.

"Someone once asked me if I remembered how it all went down, as if it happened so long ago that anyone could forget, so yeah I remember, I remember when our streets and homes turned into war zones, I remember when the world went dark, I remember when they tried to contain it as if it was ever going to stop anything, I remember when we worked together instead of killing, so yeah I remember how it all went down, but none of that matters anymore, I'm a killer, a survivor, and nothing will ever stop me from out living the AfterShock."
