Reviews

“This is a wonderfully deep game, and its sandbox nature is much more open than Hearts of Iron III was and so it's much more enjoyable at the beginning.”
8,5/10 – Strategy Informer

“Victoria II incorporates challenging strategy and sim elements with enough flexibility to satisfy any weasel-beating gaming goof.”
4,3/5 – CheatCodeCentral

“Saying that it stands head-and-shoulders above all of the scant competition for grand-strategy kingship almost goes without saying.”
9,5/10 – CPUGamer

Should be called Crash and Error Report Simulator II.

Had to manipulate files just to get it to launch without crashing. Then just when you think you're through the door and all's going to be well, the darn tutorial crashes. OK, let's dive into the game and... crash...

The refund page is much more stable.

Pros-
No bugs or lag (atleast for me)
You can change history and make a great empire
Command your troops to conquer with little difficulty (depending on the country)
Much more that I have probally forgotten
Cons-
Multiplayer is not supported anymore unless you get third party software
Tutorials take forever and mastering the game takes lots of patience and time played
Dlc can cost too much off sale.

I was excited to see Victoria ll available since I had a blast with the original.

After downloading from steam the program would CTD giving an error message for a missing file.

When loading the game initially it will get to the 'Loading map logic' phase and error out.

The error message is 'Exception in: virtualfilesystem.ccp, line: 662.' Description: The system cannot find the file specified.

After a day aof searching I found the solution on steam's discussion board.

Follow this link; steam://openurl/http://steamcommunity.com/app/42960/discussions/0/613935403969963894/

These are the steps listed:

1. Verify the integrity of the game cache:
(Right click the game in Steam -> Properties -> Local Files -> Verify Integrity...)

2. Then manually delete the folder "..\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Victoria 2" from your computer

3. Right click the game in Steam -> Properties -> Local File -> Browse Local Files -> Use the file called victoria2(.exe) to start the game in the future.
