Racket: Nx is an Arcade Space Sport. It's a high paced, psychedelic, and competitive AF. Some say it's like playing rackquet-ball inside a giant pinball machine, with classic arcade game rules and styling. Not us, though. We don't like fun.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We're trying to do something new within the already new world of VR.
So while our vision for RNX is crystal clear, we're treading uncharted territories here.
With Early Access, we get to have you guys as our compass, reality check, and travelling companions :)

Additionally, we are a new studio with no previous products, and Early Access provides us with a great way to start getting some traction.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We're planning to release 3 large Early Access versions before our final launch by the end of the year:

* Early Access 1 - Q1 2017 (current)
* Early Access 2 - Q2 2017
* Early Access 3 - Q3 2017
* Full game launch! - Q4 2017”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We have a detailed roadmap in the Community Hub here on Steam, but here are the highlights:

* Music! (God damn we can't wait for this one!)
* Competitive features (Rank based match making, stats, etc.)
* Unlockable Avatar and Racket types
* Spectating, replay and streaming tools
* Level creation, sharing and rating tools
* More game modes (single and multiplayer)
* Lots of gameplay content (Sets, hex and powerup types, etc.)”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Early Access 1 has most of our game's major pieces in basic form:

* All major game modes
* Multiplayer > Competitive (1v1 tug of war, played over Sets)
* Solo (single player Sets, with the goal of finishing in the minimal amount of time)
* Arcade mode (infinite wave run with increasing difficulty, previously known as Training)
* Sets (hand crafted “playlists” of waves, with a beginning and an end. A bit like levels)
* Powerup infrastructure (currently just a single, insta-activate powerup)
* First pass on a grand unified UI scheme”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Each of our three large releases will see the price rise slightly. We prefer this to having one big price bump upon launch, but if you think differently, please let us know in the Community Hub.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The Community Hub here is probably going to be our main channel.
We'll be updating our roadmap as things develop, sharing our considerations as we consider them, asking for your opinions, and collecting your feedback throughout.
Come say hi.

... Was that the last question?
Cool.”

Sitrep!

Hey everyone!
Dave, from One Hamsa.

It's been a while since we've updated the build, so we thought we should reassure everyone that we have definitely not forgotten RNX!

We've been watching responses to Racket with pride and eagerness - everywhere it's mentioned it's been getting tons of much love.
We really want to finish implementing the things we've been working on, and launch the game officially!

It is taking some time, though :)

We need to split our attention between finishing Racket, working projects that bring us more business, and nurturing future business opportunities.
See, our partners and us aim at making more games. Lots more games. Bigger and better games. For VR, and then for AR.
And we need to work on all fronts to secure our way towards that.

Next time we talk, I'll have a date for you :)

About This Game

RNX is one of those games that are easy to enjoy, but hard to master. On the surface, it's a high paced arcade game with pretty colors and driving music. But once you get into it, you discover you can do amazing things with a little practice and imagination.

"It is, fundamentally, a game about hitting things with other things and not since Wii Tennis have I felt so excited about such a simple premise."
- Road To VR

"My pizza burned in the oven, because i forgot about it while playing this game..."
- Tumult

"This is the first game I played where I actually almost forgot that I was in VR"
- Failinbad

RNX is a game of skill. It's all about landing that clutch shot that saves you from the timer, or nailing that perfect streak that wins you the match. It's about flow; being in the zone, pushing your skills and sweating it out.

To that extent, Racket: Nx is the first game to use Waves' Nx 3D audio technology. This tech does high quality realtime positional audio simulation, substantially easing your immersion and allowing you to rely on your ears to tell you what's where.

Ultimately, our vision is to create the first eSport for VR. That means making the physics tight and precise, encouraging you to always push the bar and improve your game. It means giving our all to the audio-visuals, making the game fun to play and to watch. It means introducing game elements that adds drama and make competitive games nail-biting, skill based and tactical. And above all, it means nurturing our community and treating our players with respect and honesty.

We're very excited about all this, and we're just getting started.

Please enjoy responsibly!
(No, really. Be careful not to hit stuff when you play.)
