If you like the Half-Life, Bioshock, and F.E.A.R. series, horror and military shooters in general, and have a nack for depressing, sometimes confusing (duh.) time-travel stories involving a pony, this fine "best of" remix is for you.
The story isn't spectacular per se, but it does a great job of keeping you interested and guessing what's going to happen next during the roughly 8-12 hours it is going to take you to complete it, depending on the level of difficulty and how interested you are in reading notes and listening to audio logs and ponies, which is optional.
I recommend starting to play this when you can play through it in one sitting, allowing yourself to get sucked into the world and its story about a pony that...
Wait, pony? There wasn't a pony... it wasn't supposed to be in this... ruined the whole review... I need to travel back to the beginning and erase it... set things right... I'm sure nothing can go wrong. Wish me luck, comrade.

The story is nice. The characters look good too.
But what I like the most is the gameplay. The TMD device is fun to play with. There're a lot of guns but many of them suck. There're a lot of upgrades, but that lead to one major flaw of this game.
You can't get all the upgrades through 1 campaign run, and you can't carry those upgrades to the new game. You have to start all over if you want to play again. Just why? It's so much fun that you start a new game without losing uprades.
The multiplayer aren't that good. So you can uninstall this game after you finish it.
So I say, get this game while it's on sales or it wouldn't worth your money.

Just finally got around to playing this. A bit older style game, reminiscent of Half-Life 2 or Timeshift, but very fun. There aren't many FPS games like this anymore that have a good story and require gaming skills to play. The interestesting story coupled with unique weapons (particularly the ability to create time slowing bubbles) make this a great game that doesn't feel like just another shooter game. The endings were a bit disappointing, but all-in-all worth the experience.

This game is extreamly fun, yet abit overpriced (this is activision after all).
Singularity clocks in at about eight hours and thirty miutes of play time.
The game is an on the rails shooter with some slightly hidden areas.
A shallow upgrading system.
Not many weapons but, all of them are enjoyable to use
Enemy variaty is pretty good for the most part but, the AI isn't the brightest
Level design is really well done for a linear game.
The game is mostly designed around a device that can bend items through the space/time spectrum
The story is pretty interesting (No Spoilers)
SImple abilities
My recomendation: play this game on hard
All in alll rating 7/10

Excellent shooter. Highly recommend

Set in a "somewhat postapocalyptic" soviet environment this is a classic First person shooter with some "super-powers" added besides the usual guns. Gameplay is reminiscent of Bioshock, while the setting and atmosphere are close to Metro 2033.
You play as an american soldier sent to investigate closed down and abandoned Soviet facility, where you uncover mistery E99 element and events follow.
What I really liked about the game:
-The gameplay is very solid. You have good amount of different, well-designed weapons (the game keeps giving you new ones right until the end, that way it keeps things interesting). Also you have some superpowers (not from beginning but quite early into the game you get your first one) and the list of the things you can do grows. Timeshift bubble, aging opponents, impulsing all around you, telekinesis. All that good stuff. Overall, the shooting part is fun and makes you feel like a bad-♥♥♥. The 'puzzles' won't take
-The setting. Very gruesome, graphic. Reminiscent of Metro but more "paranormal" stuff.
What is not particularly great but holds up:
-The story. It's pretty linear and straightforward for a game about time-travel and altering history/future, but still it is enjoyable and grips you until the end. The game even has 3 endings, but they are basically the same, just different cut-scenes in the end and you can replay last 1 minute of the game to see them all.
What I disliked:
-For a game that's been out for like 2 years already there's too many bugs. I've had to restart the game around 5 times due to game-breaking bugs (NPCs stuck or disappearing, doors not opening e.t.c) and the thing is - I've wasted good amount of time in each of those instances to figure out that something is wrong. Once there was a sequence where a girl opened some door and I needed to defend her from monsters. Well, the thing got stuck and the monsters spawned endlessly and I couldn't undestand that something is wrong until I wasted all my bullets, medkits, e99 energy and they just killed me (I wasted around 10-15 minutes I think) and after restart the process ended in like 3 monsters and 15 seconds.

All in all, solid title. Recommend to play it if you like shooters, enjoyed Metro 2033 and/or Bioshock.

One of my most favorite games.
Even though my steam account says 12.5hrs played , I've played this 3+ times over the years.
There is quite a lot of scope to play it your way even though it really is an on-rail shooter type game.
I would love to see another game with the balls to challenge the player.

An immersive science fiction first-person shooter with time manipulation mechanics that I highly recommend to fans of the genre.

You play as a soldier who becomes the wielder of the TMD (Time Manipulation Device). With it your mission is to rewrite history to repair the singularity and save mankind from utter annihilation.

You have an arsenal of weaponry at your disposal, most of which have a secondary fire. Your TMD also serves as a weapon - as it can age items and humans/monsters backwards or forwards. You use the device to navigate your way through the hazardous environments as well as gain an additional approach to firefights. You can upgrade your person and weapons by exploring and collecting energy cells.

Easy, Normal, and Hard difficulties are available.

Games of similar feel:
Wolfenstein Series
Bulletstorm
Quake IV
Call of Duty Series (Except with mutants).

So I delayed in writing a review for this game, and while I normally do it after I play a title, my procrastination took over.

Singularity is an interesting alternate-history title, but is mostly under the radar due to general lack of attention. It sets the player in a timeline where the Soviet Union discovered a new compound under the designation "E99", but something goes awry and leaves the island a ghost town for decades.

The only faults I see with this game that could have been ironed out is its difficulty. The game is too easy to me and a few others, and feels afraid to throw a challenge. The ambience irons this out, however. Another fault I noticed is the music is too climatic for a title like this. In my personal opinion, if you want to get the best out of this game, cram that music slider all the way to the left.

When this game goes on sale, I think you should pick it up. It'll definitely give you a nice 8-10 hours of gameplay.

This game now holds a spot in my top 5 games ever.

Everything about it is clever and well done.

The story, the weapons, the level design and the world they've created is amazing.

This is one of the few games I would say is actually parts of were 'beautiful'.

Pros:
+ Everything
+ Story (wow, rivals Bioshock and Bioshock Infinite - two of my favourite games)
+ Graphics still very good in this day and age
+ Art design is beautiful
+ Weapons are clever
+ Level design is awesome

Cons:
- None (that's a first for me!)

Just buy it, it is awesome and we should support a developer in the hope they make more great games like this.

Well i got to say one of the best i have played recently, story is great, sound effects, visuals and gameplay is very well done. If looking for a FPS with a very good story then this is the one even if linear. Dont pass this up if you like FPS games as you would miss out on a gem, wish they would make sequel.

Since the game is kinda short (it took me 10 hours to complete), I really advise to buy this game only when its on a sale.
But nevermind the shortness, this game was really entertaining - the developers put some very nice ideas into this fps.

I really never got bored within the 10 hours, since you get new powers and weapons frequently.
Also the story is really well done and kinda tricky. You can get different endings, depening on the decisions you took in the game, wich gives the game some replay worthness.

I really can recommend this game, if you like to enjoy a short but really well done shooter!

To say that Singularity wears its inspiration on its sleeve is to put it very lightly. The game is almost shamelessly derivative, taking the both the style and character building of BioShock, the gravity gun from Half-Life 2, and throwing in a few nods to F.E.A.R. However, this mish-mash of other games' ideas is by no means a bad thing. If anything, Singularity manages to almost play as a "best of" collection of FPS trappings, the ultimate compilation of cool gimmicks and toys seen in the genre over the past five years.

Not a masterpiece. Another "evil commies" fantasy but still pretty good. It has nice shooting and time manipulation. Yes, a clear Bioshock/Half-Life ripoff but it is playable and enjoyable. Grab it on sale!

P.S. One major flaw - no subtitles whatsoever. That sux.
