What do you get when you combine Half-Life, Fallout and Bioshock? Singularity!

Even if you only liked one of those games, you will most definitely enjoy this.
Singularity might look like a jump scare fest. Not to worry, it plays and and feels more Sci-fi than Horror.

A Few Features include:

* Heavy on gameplay.
* Light on "cinematic experiences."
* Upgradable Character and Time Manipulation Abilities.
* Around 10 hours to complete the game.
* Highly optimized - It runs REALLY well.
* Creepy Enemies.
* TONS of secrets, lore and currency to collect.
* 2 weapon load-out.***
***All weapons are upgradable and plenty of opportunity to play with what you prefer.

Asking $30 for this title is a bit too steep.

You might have to wait a while for the game to go on sale...
I waited over a year for it to go 75% off.

Check Amazon or Greenman Gaming for a better deal.

One of the most over-looked and under-appreciated shooters of all time! Great story, great weapons, great gameplay. A must-play for any FPS fan. Nobody does it like Raven.

While the game may borrow heavily from the likes of Bioshock, Portal or Gears of War, it does so in style: The cliche story is told with a good pacing, the scenery is atmospheric and the time powers are fun to use in combat making the game very well worth your time.

Loved the story the first time around, but the gameplay is so much better on a system that can actually handle it.

Singularity is a forgotten gem of a game in which has time travel elements with a gun that can let you control the bullet. Also this game is a FPS and still holds up in the graphical department and runs well to this day.
Finally some people have a ploblem with the 3 possible endings of the game (not as bad as Mass Effect 3 but more like dues ex human revoultion).

9/10

This is another of Raven's under-rated gems, one of those games that's better than it has any right to be. It's a solid shooter that riffs on BioShock's environment storytelling but with a little less depth, and has an innovative time-manipulation mechanic that's sadly under-used, mostly reduced to a lock-and-key mechanic. But there's also some great level design and fun weapons to play with, so Singularity is definitely worth your time.

Still available on the US store, but sadly not on the AU store at the moment, which is a shame.

An obscure Sci-Fi FPS that never got the recognition it deserves. In my opinion, one of the greatest games ever made.

This game is a gem which i highly suggest picking up. The graphics may have aged with some textures not really looking great - this though really matters very little when you encross yourself in it's story whihch is told through recordings and notes scattered throughout the desolate and forgotten environment. There are many mini stories which where for e.g. you come across three dead bodies and suddenly you are transported into a vision of the past where you get to witness the final moments of these sorry dead folk. It really pulls you into the environment.

The excellent weapon play is really exiting with your standard Pistol, Assault, Shotguns, Snipers, Grenade Launchers with some additional old favourites like the "Gatling" style Autocannon and the Spikeshot which reminds me of the half life 2 crossbow but has explosive spikes, all of which can be upgraded - add to this nicely imagined power houses like the Seeker Rifle and the exquisite TMD which can age and de-age items, phase shift and pulse pound your enemies among other things. It really is a completely experience where your imagination lets you run free when getting into gun fights. I for mone thoroughly enjoyed using the TMD to catch rockets and grenades fired by the enemy and launch these back as payback (another huge reminder of the Half Life 2 Gravity Gun) - alkso enjoyable is capturing enemies in a time buddle and unleashing a volley of rounds into each ones head - wait for the time to run out and enjoy their heads explode

Games this reminded me of are - Wolfenstein, Half Life, Bioshock, Fear, Red Faction (with the destroying and repairing environments with the TMD and Pulse to see where you go) as well as Dead Space. It honestly has it all and is really worth the $29 if you can afford it and feel like a game which will thrill you for the 12 odd hours of game play.

The game has an interesting story, has creative design and solid gameplay, it has so much potential to be a very good game, but it lacks polish, it looks like an unfinished piece to me.

I like the game pretty much actually, the TMD and the guns are fun, love that Kasimov SNV-E99 Sniper Rifle. And the machinery design is just amazing, remember the TMD upgrading process?
Also the story... I took some time to clear the timelines after finishing the game, and found out that the there're some major paradoxes, I always like paradox settings.

I can see singularity had borrowed a lot from Bioshock, but I don't think the story was told in a good way like Bioshock. The characters are just stereotype, they come and go and talk, just to get me moving in the game. There's just one villain has a name. If you break down the story and see it for yourself, you'll realize it's something big. I hope i can say this is a great story, but it's just an interesting one.

And come on~~~If by killing Demichev can solve the problem, why can't I just kill him in the past, why must I kill myself in the past if I can simply shoot Demichev in the head. I've shot Demicev 2 times in the head, and the last time I did it, he's still alive and talking!!! Then he even stood himself up and continued talking!!!...Totally ruins the ending.

Other Cons!
The save system really sucks!!!!!!!!!! Especially in the first 1/3 of the game, some people would probably quit due to this, Autosave is understandable, lots of games use autosave. But singularity just saves in wrong places all the time!!! It's like the checkpoints are just placed there without much consideration.

E-99 money, story notes, records, upgrade systems, they all pops up now and then to "invite" you to interact with them. But lots of those moments, while I was interacting with them, then the combat started, so I had to quit reading/upgrading, because there wasn't a pause in game when you're reading/upgrading.

The puzzles are made for the TMD, so that you can use the TMD.

All in all, I still finished the game, some moments were enjoyable, the story kept me thinking after the ending, so I would say this is a good game, a rare one indeed! If you like half-life 2 and Bioshock 1&2, you should try this one,

I have just finished the game and I am quite statisfied. Good story, cold war atmosphere nice game/weapon mechanic, good enemies, four different endings. The game was not advertised but is in my oppinion still an AA title. Deffinitelly worth the coin.

Pros:
+story
+weapon mechanic
+atmosphere

Cons:
-texture streaming bug (often the game just turn of HQ textures on some map items, no solution for steam version)
-humanid enemies could be smarter
-playing with keyboard/mouse the game gets too easy after 50% completion (I played on normal setting I think) and I did not have the option to adjust the difficulty.
-too many grab the crate and jump on it riddles. (decreases the immersion when the almighty hero is unable to climb an a hip-height map item)

Overall a strong recommendation from me! (8.0/10)

While it's reminiscent of many other games, Singularity is greater than the sum of its oft-borrowed parts. The time & space manipulation in puzzle solving has a Portal-esque feel to it, the gunplay and sci-fi elements are evocative of the Half-Life series, and the alternate reality's sprawling landscapes filled with intricate details and satirical propaganda clearly show that BioShock rubbed off on the developers. In fact, the Time Manipulation Device (TMD) employed by the game is essentially a Plasmid from BioShock – equipped on your hand, you'll use it to do things like reverse or speed up the age of items and enemies to bring variety to combat and navigate the devastated, apocalyptic terrain.

Though Singularity is certainly guilty of taking more than a few elements from other games, it puts its own spin on those elements well and creates enough of an original feel to consider it a legitimately good game in and of itself, making the experience an entertaining entry in the first-person shooter genre. The notes, recordings, and projector footage you find from the past (again, sound familiar?) range from amusing to frightening, and help to further illustrate the game's 1955 & 2010 versions of Russia which you jump to and from in order to rewrite history and correct time travel paradoxes. The consistently thick, tense atmosphere aside, this is the game's strongest asset, I feel, and could've been explored more thoroughly. This and its disappointing length are its greatest flaws, though the fact that the majority of players find the game too short shows just how enjoyable it is. When it was over, I wanted more of it, and I intend on a second playthrough – something the game encourages, as the plot twist at the conclusion recontextualizes the events preceding it.

Singularity isn't the most original or creative game, and it grazes the surface of deeper themes (the illusion of free will, the responsibility scientists have to mankind) in favor of maintaining a breakneck pace, but it does so many things right that its flaws are forgiveable and, in the grand scheme of things, minor. I consider this a must play for anyone who enjoys action or first-person shooter games, and especially the ones I mentioned in this review as well as others in that vein.

Just bought the game in sale last week and didn't thought it would be that kind of a game. This game is the more futuristic version of Half-Life.

Just to make it quick:

Trying to solve where you need to go is just awesome, not a lot of games have it in this way Half-Life and Singularity have it. It has some things in it like the aging and making it young again that I find really cool, never saw that before in any game.

Only thing I hoped for is to play with the gravity gun :D

So if you like games like Half-Life, then this game is for your!
