What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Early Access allows for the community to help shape the direction of the game based on the players' feedback. Whether that be new weapon ideas, balancing issues, or feature requests..it will help Miner Meltdown ultimately become a better game upon its full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Miner Meltdown will likely be in "Early Access" for several months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Ultimately, Miner Meltdown aims to be a tighter, more balanced experience upon its full release. Due to the nature of Miner Meltdown's procedurally generated and asymmetrical maps, it's important to ensure that each match has the correct balance of unpredictability, while also being fair.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Miner Meltdown is fully playable with online multiplayer. The full version will be a more balanced and tighter version of the current game, with possibly 1 additional game-type, and additional weapons and gadgets.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually raise the price as the game is refined.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I will be monitoring reviews, social media, Steam forums, and the Miner Meltdown Discord channel for improvement ideas. We will also be creating new weapons, new character skins, and balancing changes based on community feedback. There will also be events for the community to all gather online at scheduled times.”

About This Game

Miner Meltdown is a 2D team-based online competitive multiplayer game. Players must scour the map for minerals, upgrade their gear, and attempt to blow up the opposing team all the while avoiding monsters, traps, and environmental pitfalls along the way. Maps are randomly generated and 100% destructible, so every match is a fully unique, fast-paced, and chaotic affair.

  • 4 vs 4 online multiplayer
  • Randomly generated and 100% destructible terrain
  • Loads of unique weapons and gadgets to choose from
  • Fast-paced gameplay using ropes, jetpacks, and grapples to move around the map with ease.
  • Bots, so you can play online or solo
  • "Deathmatch" & "Diamond Dash" game-types
  • Tons of thrust-dancing

Two teams of 4 spawn on opposite sides of the randomly generated mine. Players must explore the map in search for gold, which can be used to purchase better weapons and equipment. Teams that collect more gold will generally have an edge in battle.

Teams collect points by killing enemy players, or neutral monsters. The team with the most points at the end of the round is victorious.

Gameplay is fast-paced, so hold onto your butts.
