When DLC just came out there was some imbalance with new nauts but now it's ok. New nauts really fun to play.

Matchmaking is have newbies with high prestige players...not to mention players not coming from the same region and their lag is ban system apparently after i've been playing this game since 2013 and invested so much in it apparently i got banned from playing with other players....i want to know the reason but there you go...

Although in comparison to Starstorm this DLC is kinda crappy bringing only 3 characters, they are well designed, fun to play and definetely worth a shot ^^

Don't buy it now.

Frankly it's a waste of money right now. I have supported this game and the developers down to the core but I just can't be bothered with it anymore. The match making system is just terrible. 4-5 games in a row I've been put into games that are basically finished already or completely lost already or they're filled with bots or the teams are 3 new payers vs 3 insanely high prestiege players.

It feels impossible to get any kind of progression from the ranking system right now. The match making has obviously been completely neglected.

The Starstorm map is still not here... neither is the map editor :( yet another "expansion" has been released, clearly the developers need more money or they really don't communicate with the player base so well, this is how it feels. The blogs feel quite empty and disconnected from the player base, however features mentioned by players are included in the game so the developers obviously listen silently.

Overall I think this is a fantastic game, it just need some major balancing, games used to last much longer and felt much "fairer" in in the vanilla awesomenauts, obviously things change over time but now the game feels so one sided, it can be pretty much decided in the first 5 minutes whether a game is a win or loss.

I think the developers really need to look at the bigger picture and fulfill promises that were made to their player base, they have lost a large amount of the player base already and continue to do so.

Please fix what was and what I still want to be an amazing game!

I wish I could talk about what is in the product right off the bad but there's an elephant in the room that needs to be shot down first. So if you want a review of the product in question just SCROLL DOWN TILL YOU SEE MORE BOLD LIKE THIS
Majority of the negative reviews of this product are coming from other community members losing hope that things from the kickstarter that was hosted around 2014~2015, even though we have gotten many previews of it still being worked on and an announcement date for the biggest thing of all, the map, and a general "coming soon" announcement for better match making that was also from the kickstarter.

During development of the kickstarter pieces we were promised a new map, but some of it's mechanics where then used to replaced a broken map within the game making the game better as a whole.
I repeat
they took extra time to not only continue fixing the game, but using what they were developing to do that.

Overdrive was clearly made by that "extra time" they had wile working on the Kickstarter goals. You're gonna have that wile working on a big project.

Not to mention they've been streaming on twitch their work process of the kistarter goals recently, so everything is coming soon™. This stuff takes time.

Overdrive was given a date very late last year and Ronimo fulfilled that date to a T, so Me as a consumer who is one of those people who also donated to the kickstarter, I trust that any worries they may have will be fulfilled. The only reason why this product is getting negative reviews is because people don't know that they are being given a treat to sooth the wait for the huge upcoming products heading their way like the bunch of little children they are.

Overdrive adds 3 new folks to the game; Jimmy/Amy&Lux5000, Yoolip, and Chucho.
Assuming you've already played the bace game for a wile and are wondering of any of these characters would be appealing to you………

  • Do you like people like Skolldir who go in and punch things? Do you like Penny who also goes in and slashes and pounces people but feels very fast to move around? Do you like flying across the sky as clunk or susi? Then you'll love Jimmy and the Lux5000. He can ram into 'Nauts and pin them to a wall, beat people up with his fists, and also has firkin rocket launchers strapped to his head too!

  • Do you want to play as a support but realize there are only three official playable characters right now that fill that role? Wait no more cause now you can get Yoolip! You can heal minions that push the tower and summoned objects, and your the only naut who can do that reliably now by the way! You can also literately hold down people motionless so that everyone ELSE on your team kills the target for you, just be sure to aim. His upgrades are hellbent focused on spawning healthpacks wherever he goes like you're Amaterasu from Okami, spawning flowers as you run. Also, you spawn crawling hungry hungry hippos that eat anything.

  • Do you like flying around as Yuri or Vinnie but wish you where as fast as other speed demons in the game? Do you want to still play Awesomenauts wile you are feeling like you're playing a Bullet Hell, Need4Speed Most Wanted with a healthy pinch of Twisted Metal, and Mario Kart Wii's / 8's time trial mode at the same time? Awesome, get this for Chucho. He has a hover bike, flies in all directions, and has a nitro boost. You can also get off the bike and tag people with Halo sticky Grenades and get off screen Frag Kills. You also dual wield pistols so you're more of a cowboy than Lonestar. And dear god his Theme and KillingSpree theme are legendary. Go check them out now if you haven't, they're on youtube.

♥♥♥♥ price for an expansion like this, it is the same price as the starstorm expansion one and look at the features it gives you.
The devs are also pretty lame because they launched starstorm expansion content through the overdrive one, advertising it on their website and on their media.

Don't buy it till the devs add more features to it, starstorm is enough for you.

Only recommending it for those who already own the main game and thinking about getting dlc.

If you don't own the game, don't bother.

Characters aren't P2W exactly, but Ronimo makes new chars super powerful to get more people to buy it. Jimmy is redonkulously OP in any game, Yoolip is support so you need to play with your team, and Chucho is a bit of a wild card depending on the play style of the user.

TLDR: If you have the game and have 100+hours, get it. If not, pass

Perhaps overpriced for just 3 characters; but great addition to the game.

Ok, i bought this expansion since I`m pretty obsessed with the game and I find it to be a fearly good purchase. All three characters feel great and unique, they`re a bit on the stronger side but not terribly broken. They`re all extreamly flexible when it comes to team roles, they controll well, they look good.... I`d say that they`re the best desinged characters we had in yearssss.
The elderly small man is my favourite person of them all because you can play him in a lot of ways and the combo you can do with both of his abilities.
Krocko feels like you`re controlling multiple characters at once, its like: mmm you have a sticky grenade that does really decent damage AND you can switch into motorcycle mode where your speed and active ability are buffed AND in this motorcycle mode you can use an alternate ability AND you can park the motorcycle whenever you want to turn it into a ♥♥♥♥en sentry type thing (he`s OP).
The giant disgusting ugly baby is ironicaly enough the most badass character in the game (and him being a baby perfectly fits my playstyle).
Now for some constructive ctiticzm. For the same price The Starstorm expansion gives you five characters while Overdrive gives you three. I looked on the steam store page and the official website to find if there are any future stuff only Overdrive owners will get and no, it`s just three characters. So if you want to DLC your game up i would recomend Starstorm over this.
And now for some nitpicks that really shouldn`t affect wheather or not you`re going to buy this, but I`m sharing it here anyway because i like to complain about stuff on the internet.
- The writting is really bad
Especially for Yoolip. Most of his lines sound like they`re baldy ad libbed, he has three lines which all go "mmmmm yesss"
but in different pitches, and the rest is just him mumbeling.
Chuko references a movie that came out 2 months ago and it sounds suprisingly out of place and morbid ("When Chuko catches you, you don`t die by no bullet, you HANG") for a game with this kiddy art style and themes and all.
And the baby has like 5 lines that are destinguishable.
- The music is meh
Exept for maybe Jimmie`s theme which I would like to think is inspired by BoC`s Telephasic Workshop.
In conclusion: If you`re a weirdo like me than go ahead and buy this, but eehhhh if you`re not super into this game wait untill a sale or something (huge discounts on this game and its dlc are frequent).

Not enough content to be called an expansion to be honest.
I'm dissapointed, no StarStorm map yet... just 3 characters and I thought the visual upgrade would also include older characters like froggy, raelyn, clunk etc... I mean, it's called overdrive and it just overdrive one character?

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE THE GAME, I've donated money to the devs, I've played this since season 1... I already buy skins, they promised a lot with Starstorm and it's been like a year and no map, so not even starstorm is finished. but THIS just isn't worth it, at least right now... just get it if you really love Awesomenauts (like I do, but I can't be blind forever)

I love the game, I've been playing for a long time and it's really fun!
But this expansion could've been much better...

Yoolip and Chucho are enjoyable and enough balance.
The new art design on lonestar is great.

They said they were going to improve matchmaking(wich currently sucks) and they haven't.
The ''new'' starstorm map was supposed to be out again, it's not.
The new character Jimmy is ridiculously OP. (That will probably be fixed tho)
A bit too expensive for what it's worth...

Wait for it, it will come in sale and then peraphs you should buy it but in the meantime if you are not a die hard lover of awesomenauts I don't recommand it...

Ronimo broke the game. Got back after months and found this new ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t. The new chars are awesome, but they didnt give us the new matchmaking system, didnt even finished the starstorm map they promissed. What we have now is the old chars, totally worthless, and jimmy and chucho. Shame on you, ronimo.
