I love nancy drew games, but this particular game in the series was a little dissapointing. when playing a nancy drew game you expect to have an interesting plot that makes you feel like you are part of the mystery, but the plot to this game did not live up to the thrill of previous games in the series. it was a little lame because of the lack of danger present, the feeling that someone is out to get rid of you is very weak in this game, which is upsetting because that was a great strength of the other games. some of the puzzles were frustrating, but others were alot of fun and rewarding. definitely not one of the best of the series, but it is still a good game. the few frustrations only showed up a few times in the game so it isnt really that big of a deal. I give it a 6/10, but if your more of a mainstream gamer, I wouldnt suggest this game to you, its for those who enjoy casual games.

Although I have been a Nancy Drew game enthusiast since the fifth game was released, I have to say that this game left me sorely disappointed. The plotline of the game is stale and short. Most tasks are not part of solving the mystery, but rather errands and chores given by other characters. The game is also disappointingly short. I finished the game in two short sittings (Steam records that I played 11 hours but this is incorrect; I have been experiencing some home IT issues that increased my calculated gameplay). Other ND mysteries have at least held my attention through a few difficult puzzle series. The "size" of the environment was also far too small. The whole game is spent in three small areas: a house, a barn, and a shop (3 rooms in the house, 2 rooms in the shop, and 1 barn area). The only exceptions are the outside area (where 2 activities are held) and driving on the roads (which was more of an annoyance than a fun game element). Trail of the Twister is unfortunately my least favorite Nancy Drew game yet. I hope Her Interactive can step up their game and bring back the excitement seen in games like Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake and The Curse of Blackmoor Manor.

I just bought this game and it constantly pops up with a message; "application load error" would really like if someone could help me fix this.

For anyone receiving the ERROR CODE that will not allow you to play, go to properties, and enter this code into the BETA section:

It's probably my least favorite Nancy Drew game. It's very boring, and I don't reccomend it. Even for a frequent ND player.

Truly horrendous excuse for an adventure game. It is really sad what's happened to the Nancy Drew games. They really used to be great. Everything I've played after Blackmoor Manor (which was excellent by the way) are absolute garbage and not worth anyone's money.
If you want to play a Nancy Drew game, I highly recomend Treasure in the Royal Tower, Secret of the Scarlet Hand, and the aforementioned Curse of Blackmoor Manor.

Not since the time of Alfred Hitchcock has a thiller so enthralling graced the prescence of mystery-lovers everywhere. The gritty, in the fray writing style draws you in and the character development keeps you wanting more. Indeed, during the climatic fight scene on top of the empire state buliding i found myself locked in my seat, heart pounding, sweat pouring down my face as i gripped my seat in expectation. The true message of the story; that of marxism in german society in the 1920's, is subtly conveyed through the prowess of some of the finest voice actors of this century. The character dynamic was excellent, each cast member playing off of the other in an intense waltz of cinematic quality drama. This game has set a new standard for mystery thirllers, the emotional up's and down's it evokes can be found nowhere else.

I was so happy to play this game-after so many years of trying to get it to work on my PC, and a bunch of copies, when I finally switched to a Mac and by happy accident found Steam, I was like "okay, one last shot" to play this game. I know there are negative reviews that might warn you away because they say the game has a glitch and won't open. That happened to me too, but I entered the code ThwEDgb5rfFw into the BETA section like another review on the game page told me to, and that fixed it:) So I was finally able to play the game! Have no fear, the code works and the game will work!

As for the gameplay, it's one of my more loved Nancy Drew games. I've played every single game and I will continue to. There are some games that are boring (for me) and I will never touch again, there are some I moderately love, or that I loved when I played but don't really feel the need to play again, and there are the ones I will never get enough of. This is one of the ones I really loved while playing, because it plays on my love of twisters.

It's actually a little harder game play for me, I think. (But nothing like Captive Curse, which I still haven't finished. At least I finally found my way out of this one). Before my PC crashed I was stuck for months not knowing what to do to get past the trigger object or whatever. But when I downloaded it on here I did something right:) So it's one of those games you can get stuck on, which to me means it's not as easy, a little complicated. (as opposed to Message in a Haunted Mansion you can finish in just hours, in my experience).

If you love tornados, this is a fun game. I really enjoyed the weather of this game, because I enjoy that weather in life. Finding the weather pics is a little annoying, and if you can't manage to trigger the next part (whereever that was for me, I don't remember now) that's a little annoying. And if you decide to play the two mini-games that will get you Pa's Pennies, make sure you don't forget to spend them before you trigger the end so that your time and hard work doesn't go to waste :/

This is one of my most liked Nancy Drew games:)
My other recommendations are:
-Secrets Can Kill
-Stay Tuned for Danger
-The Final Scene
-Danger on Deception Island
-Secret of Shadow Ranch
-Danger by Design
-Creature of Kapu Cave (+HARDY BOYS!!!)
-Tomb of the Lost Queen
-Ghost of Thornton Hall
-Sea of Darkness

As someone who enjoys simpler games that don't require a lot of backtracking and give good directions on where to go next, this game was perfect. The puzzles weren't that hard, instructions were clearn, and the characters were nicly written. I also absolutally adore the scenery, the entire town was so cute and charming. Would recommend!

This was less of a mystery and more of a chore list. If you like solving puzzles, then this is your game. (I made frequent stops to the barn to mess with the circuit boards) This is one of those timeline games where you do certain tasks and then told to go to bed. One of the last days it took forever for me to find the flag to let you go to bed. Had to google it. Found that others were having this problem. Plot line was straight forward, it didn't take me long to solve.

It's much better the Ransom of Seven Ships, but is not one of my favorites. I would recommend Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake if you're looking for this sort of genre of Nancy Drew games.
