Nora and Turrets! Need we say more?

Nora and Turrets! Need we say more?

Hello Team!

Welcome to August. Where our Texan thermostats are constantly in triple digits and our shoes melt to the parking lot. When we’re not downing water to stay hydrated, the team has been cranking away on Horde mode and the upcoming character pack for JNPR. Y’all want to see some of the progress? Let’s go!

Horde
As it stands, I believe we’ve only said Horde mode exists. We haven’t really divvied out too many details about the vision of this new mode, but know that gameplay will be inspired by the early RTX demos from the game’s past. While the horde design crew is still busy nailing down more handcrafted nuances, they wanted to show off something a little less subtle: TURRETS!
This is an early look at an untextured asset.

The Horde team has been chatting with the RWBY animation crew (Kerry & Miles) about a few mechanics to see if they fit in the RWBYverse. Two main features came out of that meeting, turrets and another thing so awesome and fun we’ll have to save it for a future news post. (That and we haven’t quite started on getting him...I mean it… into the game...) We’ll have more news about horde as we continue to playtest and tweak it in the coming weeks.

JNPR
It’s still early for team JNPR. We talked about which JNPR teammate to start work on first, the natural choice was Nora. This is an early look at Nora! In game! Taunting! Her anims, coloring, etc... are a work in progress. BOOP!

Tribute to Monty in Forever Fall
Separate from your Grimm slaying ways, you all have proven to be quite the group of hunters. I’m not talking about the number of Beowolves and Androids you’ve eliminated. I’m talking about easter eggs! We mentioned there was an easter egg way back with the Forever Fall update in May. Last night, the hunt came to a conclusion. Here’s a bit of backstory from the level’s designer, Andy Cortez.

Hello fellow hunters and huntresses,

After searching every encounter and scrutinizing every pixel, the Forever Fall "easter egg" has finally been discovered!

While designing this level, I knew I wanted to add something special for Monty. Rather than calling it an "easter egg", I always saw it as more of a tribute. The first episode of Volume 3 inspired me to add his signature somewhere, so I decided to draw it in the terrain on the 3rd encounter.

Honestly, I worried it wouldn't be found. It's difficult to get high enough to get a good view of it, but I should never doubt you all.

-Andy Cortez (@MaximumCortez)

After a bit of research, and not to say that this wasn’t a community effort, but it seems credit for this discovery goes to QuasiSnipr1048. Now that you’ve all found the Forever Fall tribute, take your egg hunting to the newest levels of Grimm Eclipse. Good luck, egg hunters! (Any Ready Player One fans out there?)

Patch #1

Hello Team!

The Rooster Teeth Games team has been spending their summer vacation roaming around the world of Remnant on a never-ending quest to bring you more goodness in RWBY: Grimm Eclipse. What do we have in store for you this time? Well, Patch #1 brings a lot of improvements to the game to address community feedback as well as several bug fixes affecting the game.

Bug Fixes
  • Collision: Can no longer get stuck inside rock by the control center at the end of Chapter 1.
  • Collision: Can no longer fall through a gap near the platform with the artifact in Chapter 2.
  • Audio: Boarbatusk spin SFX no longer gets stuck in a loop.
  • UI: Mouse cursor now hides during gameplay while using a gamepad.
  • Networking: Fixed a bug where if you entered a multiplayer lobby and left, you would remain connected to the lobby.

Improvements
  • Difficulty Setting: Added Single Player difficulty settings for Normal, Hard, Legendary, and Eclipse.
  • Checkpoints: Additional checkpoints were added to every level so that you don’t have to repeat encounters that you already completed.
  • UI: Can now go back to previous screens (all the way back to the Main Menu) from the Character Select screen.
  • UI: Labels for Ultimate, Team Attack, and Ranged added to upgrade screen to make it more clear as to what the abilities are for.
  • Gameplay: Made several gameplay changes to the boss battle in Chapter 10.
  • Gameplay: Made Control Center defense more of a challenge.
  • Cutscene: Polished the end cutscene

Other Topics
  • Are your progress and stats not saving? We’re working on a fix for this, but until then please make sure to enable Steam’s cloud save feature. Do this:
    1. First, go to Steam’s Settings menu, select “Cloud”, and check the box for “Enable Steam Cloud synchronization.”
    2. Next, right-click on the game from the list in your Library, select Properties, go to the Updates tab, and check the box for “Enable Steam Cloud Synchronization for RWBY: Grimm Eclipse”
  • Is the game crashing on you after the title screen? This is likely an issue related to AMD processors with integrated graphics cards, Intel integrated graphics cards, and on machines that do not meet the minimum requirements (for reference, our minimum requirements our listed at the bottom of the store page (http://store.steampowered.com/app/418340). You can try forcing the game to run in DirectX 9 as a workaround by configuring launch options in Steam. Do this by:
    1. Right-click on the game from the list in your Library
    2. Select Properties
    3. In the “General” tab, select SET LAUNCH OPTIONS
    4. In the text field, add -force-d3d9
    5. Hit OK
    6. Launch the game
    * Note - Performance when launching DirectX 9 will vary, and we are not officially supporting it. This is available simply as a workaround to those unable to launch the game.

Upcoming Updates
We have a lot more planned throughout the year that we’ll be adding to the game. We’re excited to share the details, however we’re still solidifying the schedule. We plan on announcing dates soon for Horde Mode, Team JNPR, as well as a Mac OS X version.

What do you think?
If you have question, let us know in the Steam forums, Reddit , or even directly to a team member on Twitter.

I played this game back in the early stages. It was laggy and repetetive with no progression. Now it's a fairly fun hacky/slashy game. If you like RWBY then this game is probably worth the price. Otherwise there are cheaper alternatives. Darksiders maybe? I've never played it but it's usualy on sale for about $5.00.

Although if this game implemented a good weapon customizer it might be worth the $25.00 tag to non-rwby fans.

P.S. Plox implement Neo.

Repetitive. Characters are mostly the same and levels consist of kill X number of monsters over and over. No real story to speak of. Lack of splitscreen was another nail in the coffin. $25 for this is ridiculous.

So I'm a major fan of RWBY and I have to say I love this game. I played through the entire campaign on a live stream with friends and it took us nearly 2 hours to complete which is about average for a small squad based hack n slash. The voice acting was spot on being it's all of the voice actors from the show so they can't mess up the visuals are amazing and feel like the show. Combat is just simple hack n slash but thanks to there being 4 characters you do need to mix it up depending who you play as. Soundtack is amazing as it is just the songs from the show without lyrics. Overall I found it to be a good enjoyable game to play with friends.

Okay before you guys go all crazy I am a rwby fan it's just here are my reasons

1. Lack of grimm to fight. The enemies in game it's pretty much the same enemies every area that has them the only two new enemies we got was when the full game came out the androids and the death stalker. But it would have been awesome if they added more grimm in the game because they pretty added almost every grimm in game except the snake grimm and nevermore. And every chapter has the same enemies until chapter 6 where your starting to fight the android enemies.

2. the game is to short. The game I can pretty much beat it alone in 3 to 4 hours but with online multiplayer I can beat it in 2 to 3 hours. We all know that they had to rush to release the full game when the game came out and all but it would have been nice if rooster teeth could have added more levels instead of 10 chapters and there were a lot of places in the show we had seen the city of vale, Beacon, and other places in the show that we have seen before.

3. Lack of playable characters so far. Right now we can only play as ruby rose Weiss schnee blake belladona and yang xaio long the four main female protagonist of rwby and I just wish that they could have added team JNPR or team CFVY once the game was released but right now the developers of the game is talking about team JNPR but us players don't know if they will be paid DLC or be updated into the game like the previous updates.

4. Dr merlot is not even in the game he sits in the backround and talks to you you can't even fight him which sucks. And the final boss I thought that it's going to be him since he is the main bad guy in the game but nope it's a deathstalker.

5. hunter rank. I just don't like it how whenever we upgrade our rank it has to reset the game and you have to play through the whole game again why not just upgrade to the next rank and don't reset the game but I kinda hate the hunter rank because it takes to long to upgrade and it resets the game.

6. Storyline. The storyline kinda sucks we have a brand new bad guy who wasn't even shown in the main show and the storyline is that he comes back and he starts capturing grimm and mutating them. There isn't really a whole lot of backstory to Dr. Merolt and he says to Ozpin in one of the chapters that they met before and that was it I want to know how they met but they don't explain alot about the backstory to Merlot and there is very little storyline in game.

7. The skills. Okay some of you guys can agree that some skills kinda sucks there's isn't any skill that likes upgrade your attacks to your weapon so you can defeat the enemy easily. There are some useful skills like arua regeneration and improve ultamate.

8. Lack of music. Now there is a lot of music in the game of course. But why not add the vocaloist and not just the different instruments playing in the backround I mean in some parts of the game you here the same type of music over and over again which can get really annoying like when you fight the death stalker all you here in the backround is red like roses part 2 build up that's it and it just sucks how we can't even hear full songs in the backround either with the singing in the backround or just the different instruments playing in the backround.

So yeah those are my reasons why Grimm eclipse is not my favorite it was my favorite the first time I played both the demo of the first five chapters and when the full game got released but after awhile it just didn't stood out to me. If your a rwby fan you can get the game check the game out yourself but if you know what rwby is and want to get the game just don't buy the game it's not really worth the price even I bought the game when it was $20.00 and I just got tired of playing the game for awhile and I hope rooster teeth adds more content to the game then maybe just maybe the game could stand out more again.

So this game is pretty great right now, fun and fluid combat and replayability too. It shines most when playing with friends, but can get tedious in single player. They are adding new content and characters to look forward to as well. (*^v^)*

Very hack&slash. If you don't like losing your progress you won't enjoy this game as much as most. The game requires you to play with others in some parts, but there is a solo mode were you can play by yourself and adjust the difficulty between normal and eclipse. The ranking system allows you to choose to complete a set of challenges and sacrifice progress for the sake of a shiny number next to your name. When you accept your new rank others will see it but you will lose ALL PROGRESS (including mastery challenges in game). If you gain a rank you will be presented with a harder challenge or set of challenges to repeat this process for the next. New features, reworks, and content continue to be pumped out, I cant wait to play as others but the diversity is still there! Beautiful gameplay and a fullfilling story, the only thing that I dislike is that from time to time you will get absolutely ♥♥♥♥ on by a combo of attacks and need to wait to respawn or get revived. Mabye it's just me playing solo eclipse too much but overall a very solid 8.5-9/10!!

As a major fan of rwby who loves the show to death and pesters my friends relentlessly get into the show, i love the series as a whole. I bought this literally day 1 in early access so i've been there since the start. That being said i was super excited for the full release, so how does the game stack up?

as a 15$ game... its meh, it's decent it's not ungodly awful but i wouldn't say it's "good". as a 25$ game... it's awful and i'd never pay such a price for the content provided, so let's break it down.

-Combat, the core of a hack n slash, in all honesty it feels very lacking in most if not all departments. Most characters just spam 1 combo because it's the best thing they have. a REALLY annoying thing is how every character (friend and foe) has the exact...same...audio lines... for every single combo and attack! you can hear an ursa grunt from being hit like 50 times trying to kill the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ (same with other Grimm as well as players doing combos).

-Characters, even though the main cast is present, none of the charm is there. There's little to no true interaction between the cast (they literally never address one another outside of being revived and maybe the occasional team attack) and overall come off as bland and boring.

-Music + sound, the music is pretty good, all songs from the show that usually hit at the right time (wish the songs had lyrics though, i do like to sing along). Sound wise like i said most of the sound assets are massively overused and repeat themselves to an insane degree to the point of irritation/frustration.

-Visuals, game look's decent, doesn't blow my mind but it's not bad by any stretch of the imagination (i did hear of some bugs but never witnessed any)

-Story, to be honest it may as well not exist, has some mystery and adventure at the start but becomes very boring and dull halfway through, the villan is very weak (though to be fair nobody in this game is strong in the character department.)

-Misc information, level design is hyper linear (some levels look good aesthetically, others don't). Enemy variety is very very low, (there's an okay amount of enemies but your normally fighting the same 2-3 types en mass depending on the area). When your not fighting Horde A and moving to fight Horde B (literally 98% of this game is horde wave battles) the world just feels empty and hollow.

-Progression, standard 10 levels get a point as you lvl up and put it into 1 of numerous passives only a handful of which you will see and actively use. You keep levels and such through numerous playthroughs but to get more challenges to grind more you need to reset.... why?

-Conclusion, this is nowhere near worth 25 dollars i'm sorry it's just not enough there to justify it. at 15 it's a hard sell unless your a hardcore fan. I know i'm being hard on this but that's because i want RT to learn and grow from this experience to create bigger and better things. We proved we'd support them however we can (this game got greenlit in 1-2 days). I do realize this isn't a triple A title and i don't judge it as such, i judge it as a 25 dollar game and i don't think it's up to par. If i missed anything or you have something to add feel free to drop a comment below and i'll try to answer everyone best i can.

RWBY is my passion; I mean, I've been writing f*cking fanfiction based on the show since September of 2013, and hearing about Grimm Eclipse was like a dream come true. Holy hell, I wanted this game! Well... that was my first response about hearing about it, now that the game is finally "fully" released, I realized that we can't always have nice things. In short, this isn't worth the $25 price point.

What. The Hell. Is This?
I'm going to be honest, it was enjoyable at first, but after a few hours later, I was already so bored that I could not take it anymore. I played the game since Early Access, and the game being tagged as "fully released" and out of Early Access is just plain bullsh!t. Literally almost nothing has changed after getting out of Early Access (except for the last few levels with a new enemy that... well just isn't really game changing, and the HUD that... well... I can hardly see why that needed changes), and this game takes only a few hours just to finish. They could have had the rest of the story done and over with before getting out of Early Access; it's the plain truth.

Combat is repetitive, dull, and laughably simplistic.

Story is lackluster, uninspired, and cliche to the point that it hurts to call it original.

Characters have the crappiest dialogue lines, no variety when it comes to their move set (seriously, you have close range attacks, ranged attacks that hardly work for sh!t, and an ultimate move. It is laughably simple for what the game is based on), and can be so unbalanced all over the place when it comes to the game's enemies and bosses that it seemed like they didn't even do much work.

Also, want to know how the antagonist looks like? Well too freaking bad, you never, ever get to see him (except for comms but that's hardly an appearance).

And lastly, Horde Mode, an option that has been sitting at the main menu for a long time with the caption "Coming Soon" on it, has never been implemented! If they were going to take a while with implementing it... then why the hell was the option even there in the first place?!

This game looked promising when I played the pre-pre-pre-alpha back at RTX 2015, but now... I consider it a crappy hack n' slash game with a RWBY skin on it. That's also the reason why you see plenty of "Positive" reviews on the store page... it's because those reviews have to do with people loving RWBY and... well that's pretty much it. If you look at it as a normal hack n' slash game, then you would have a Negative experience with it. I'd say, either avoid this, or buy the game during a sale. It's not worth the $25 and I also heard that they're adding PAID DLC!! What. The. F*CK?! I know it takes work to add more characters into the game, but seriously?! With how they did Team RWBY, I would find it hard to even put much of price tag on them other than less than pricing the character bundles (IF THEY'RE EVEN GOING TO BE TEAM BUNDLES) at 3 dollars.

As a die hard fan and longtime fanfiction writer of RWBY, I would say that this is not the RWBY game we dreamed of. I feel terrible for being so hard on a game based on my favorite series, but I can't even bear this game.

It's painful to admit, but this game was a failure. I bought this back at announcement, so I've seen it grow, and it basically went nowhere. I understand its basically less than 10 guys working on this, and for a fan game based off a show, it's better than some other attempts I've seen over the years.

Bottom line, it's not worth 25 bucks. Unless you REALLY want the achievements, then the entire game can be beaten in 3 hours. It's stupidly easy, once you know the level path, you can replay it with all 4 characters and have them all max level in 10 hours. It's stupidly easy, and I repeat that because ITS THE WORST PART OF THE GAME. There's ZERO challenge, I can beat the entire game solo without dying even with a brand new character and no upgrades.

TL;DR Good attempt, but so much wasted potential, and the fact they are charging 25 bucks for this is beyond despicable. If you feel the need to get it, wait for it to go on sale for a maximum of 10 bucks

Well, I gotta be honest with this one.

First off, I only come to this game's store page only to see the negative reviews, as literally all of them are correct with everything they say.

Secondly, the patches fix almost nothing, or things you can't even see compared to what the game is. I know you're trying your best to make the game better, but even if you patch all the bugs in the game, it will still be A) Boring and B) Repetitive.

Now, let's get straight to the point:

Gameplay

- EXTREMELY Boring, specially if you play in Single Player. I've tried both Single and Multi-Player, but it was the same experience, only that you get the pleasure of clearing waves faster on Multi-Player than doing that on your own.
- Controls are really simple, but still lack a lot of polishing on how they play.
- One starting weapon, one ranged attack (that is completely useless) and an ultimate attack (that isn't good enough for a lot of things). You get nothing else, just these. That's it.
- All enemies play the same, but there's one or two bosses that play different and take longer to kill (though, as from I've read, the final boss is a pain in the ♥♥♥ to deal with).
- On the whole game, you only do three things: Kill randomly, kill to advance, kill to defend.
+ Upgrades help, even though some of them are not that useful, it still helps (except for ranged attacks).
- Ranged attacks. Does anybody even use them?
- No pause screen in-game, either Single or Multi-player. This is really bothering.
It will most likely happen though.
+ Weiss.

That sums up the gameplay, now, let's talk about the story.

Story

- Really lacking. It's just "go through this area and kill enemies", aside from some things that are just... there.
- It makes no sense. A little bit of it does, but still. You randomly appear on this spot? It's never explained, you just did, get over it and defend that spot that I want you to defend, just because I say so and it's good for us.

Nothing left to say about it. The story makes you unable to care about it and that's it.

Sound

- Dialogues are really, REALLY annoying, at least for me. I know you're tough and all, but you don't have to remind me that in almost every single area with the same line. At least a variety would be nice.
- Voice acting is... poor. Already said enough with the dialogues, but it's just true, they need a lot of work. A lot of it.
- The music is the same, over and over. Throughout the maps, all you hear is a constant loop on your ears that will stay there. It is from the show, and I know it has a lot of good tracks, but the tracks placed in the game easily get repetitive and boring the more you hear them.

The OST in the game is poor, and makes it unimportant to the game. But as I said before, the game needs a lot of work other than just being rushed to 'please' fans with a 'full release'.

Graphics

+ Sceneries tend to be nice. Even though they're empty, they're still nice to look at.
- How it's always the same animations makes me feel sick, not in the terms of anger, but visually sick.
- You'd love to go to this place? Too bad, YOUR area is this one. You can't go in there.
- There's a ton of places in where you could easily find a way around other than getting something to cross the path, but then again, you jump so low you wouldn't even reach them in the first place.

tl;dr It's good to look at on your first minutes in the game, but then, you feel like you've seen all of it.

Overall

The developers need to complete the game, other than fix minor bugs that aren't really important. I know you care about the fans, that you like the show and community a lot, but sometimes, you have to care more about your work to keep those fans happy. Between Early Access and Full Release there's almost no difference, just some maps and some enemies re-designed very simply, this shouldn't happen on a Full Release, even more if you're going to raise the price of it.

I've spent only an hour to it, and probably wont touch it again until the DLC comes out, but I must say that by reading the reviews of the full release and by just spamming the same attacks over and over in the same events again and again, you get a very clear idea of what you're playing.

I like RWBY, I really do, but this isn't worth the $24.99 at all (I got it on the sale, luckily). If the game is re-made or at least get a REAL full release, then things might be able to change.

But for now, it's just a boring, repetitive, rushed game of Hack N' Slash with the title of RWBY on it.

It's...got a base, I guess. But for this price, you'd expect double the content and replayability. I really don't get why they've raised the already premium price.

I'm sad to have to give this a downvote.
I love the RWBY series but seriesously this game is not worth it's current price.

To start off, the UI is okay, it's not good, not bad, but even on ultra the hunter ranks are nearly impossible to read.
The characters are all very similar with very small differences which makes learning them simple but it takes away some of the depth of the gameplay.
The worlds are large and mostly empty with some things floating and other put neatly, leaving me to wonder as a hobbyist map maker what the software used to make the maps was.
On the subject of maps the first chapter has a way of getting straight out of the map and all the game has areas littered around with spots you probably shouldn't be.
Not to mention the level design is like FF-XIII, just a little bit better though.
The voiceacting is sometimes half-arsed even with the experience that basically the entire cast has.
On the subject the character's personalities are gone, some quirks remain but this is DEFINITELY an alternate timeline as Weiss is more self-centered, Blake is suddenly self-centered, Ruby's childishness is amplified tenfold and Yang's puns are only semi-groanable.
The mechanics are glitchy, allowing the player to fly through enemies instead of doing team attacks or countering, the latter usually being a fatal if not nearly fatal flaw, literally.
The obtimisation is aweful (Then again, unity, not the dev's fault on that one)

There isn't much that doesn't have an issue in this game beside:
The models
The way the combat looks

The combat sounds okay, except if you hold the heavy button for a tiny amount of time then release instead of just tapping, the character will hiccough.

As a timekiller for maybe 5 minutes, sure I'll pick it up, I'll try and get the last 4 achievements I'm after but as a game that I would play for a long period of time many times over a longer period of time.

No, you've got RWBY kidding me if you're suggesting that.

Pros:-
Good time killer
Fun to break the maps
Fun to break pathfinding
Fun to break
You get to use firearm-melee crossbreeds against monsters that literally don't need to eat and can FEEL your sorrows about how disappointing the game is.

Cons:-
Glitchy as balls
The model incident of 2k16 (Though that's over now)
Poor map design
Poor Voice acting
AWEFUL optimisation
For some reason makes me feel sicks after playing it too long as well.

Overall, a 3/10, it just feels incomplete and rushed.
I said in the comments of the full release "Nobody remembers a late release but everyone remembers a bad one" I'm just sad that this wasn't seen as maybe it'd still be an acceptable price that I'd pay and maybe we'd see RWBY:GE fully released without a tonne of glitches in a few months.

TL;DR Ultimately the game ended up being disappointing, even as a long time fan of the series. The devs rushed the full release out, overcharged for the amount of content, and plan on charging even more money for future additions to the game.

I really hate to say that I am ultimately not satisfied with this game but I have to. I love RWBY and have had a ton of fun following it. I bought this game back when it first released into early access and have run through it with my friend many times now. Back then the game looked really promising. There was still more to add and many things that needed to be worked on but I thought "it's okay, the devs will definitely get there in time". Each time a new update was released we would run through the game again and each time it got better and better. That is until the final release.
So what exactly is the problem?

1. The devs decided to change the player models for some reason. Originally they were using the exact models from the show but claimed they were causing performances issues (they weren't, even on ym friends lower end laptop). The ones that ended up in the game in the full release aren't bad, but they still aren't quite as good as the originals.

2. Ultimately the game feels hollow and rushed. Each time I got a new update it felt as though a lot of new content was added...until I actually completed that content. There are only 10 levels and they pretty much all involve doing the same thing over and over, fighting waves of enemies. This isn't inherntly bad but the game doesn't do anything to make it good.

3. The environments are all basically the same. In pretty much every encounter your move into a slightly differently shaped flat open plain and fight monsters. There is basically zero exploring to do, you are often blocked off by invisble walls for no real reason, and there isn't really anything in the environment to use during battles (save for a few exploding barrels in the later levels which is pretty lame).

4. There are no more than 10 enenmies in the game, and 10 is being generous. You basically have 4 different types of grim and then larger versions of them plus some robots. This wouldn't be so bad if fighting them wasn't the same every time.

5. The full release price is far too much for the amount of content it has. I only paid $15 back in early access and even then I feel kind of cheated because of how most worthwhile future updates are going to work.

6. The devs decided to make most future updates paid DLC. The only free content is horde mode which honestly I don't feel is even difficult for them to add. The original prototype for the game was a horde mode and the entire game is mor eof less just a series of horde mode battles. They basically don't have to do anything besides make an arena and then make wave sinfinite.

7. Future DLC will be massively overpriced, just like the base game. The devs are planning to add other teams to the game which you will have to pay $10 for (only JNPR confirmed). As far as I am aware this is just the characters and nothing else. No new levels, no new enemies, no new modes.

8. The music. This is more of a personally thing but it drives me crazy that the decision was made to use instrumental version of songs from the show that don't even loop properly. It would have been much better if they included the vocals where appropriate.

I've played through the entire campiagn by myself and dabbled in the multiplayer. So I think I have the general jist of how the game works and how it should be played. That being said, this game is not, I repeat, NOT worth it's $25 price tag. Not in it's current state. Maybe like $10. The game has alot of issues: the models with their laughably low quality, the combat system that just lets you spam light attack then just one heavy attack: LLLLH, no depth to characters, combat, or story, the horrible ending (jesus christ what happened to that ending?), the dialouge: everyone speaks to people that aren't there and there is no back and forth between characters let alone the repetative grunts, cries, and yells, and so much more. What kicks even harder is that this is the FULL release. THIS IS NOT A FULL RELEASE. The game is hillariously incomplete. Horde mode, a mode that was promised from near the begining is STILL in development. The one that hurts the most is that they have already confirmed PAID dlc! A game that is an incomplete $25 game with paid dlc on the way? Yeah no thank you. Wait for a sale or just don't buy this game. Trust me. I love the show and can't wait for Volume 4 but, this is not the game that the series deserves.

This game is not a full game, not worth the price, and not worth your time.
Pros:
The game looks kinda nice
It is a RWBY Game
Cons:
Repetetive combat
Boring combat
The Voice Acting
INCREDIBLY short (Campaign will last around 1-1.5 hours)
Characters all play about the same
There is NO POINT in ranged attacks
Devs pulled a Fable and told us we would be getting a lot more than we got (Where is JNPR? How about Horde Mode?)
The pricepoint is INSANELY high for the amount of content the game actually has
Once again, the combat is INSANELY boring, frustrating, and repetetive
The final boss is absolutely terrible
The story is uninspired and cliche
And overall, just ugh.
